劇情簡介

肯洛區的《吹動大麥的風》摘下金棕櫚獎後，在英國的爭議聲一直不斷，主要因為電影中赤裸裸描述了當年英軍鎮壓愛爾蘭獨立時的殘暴，引發了兩極的討論。有一句古早的話說，愛爾蘭的河水是鹹的；因為那是愛爾蘭人的眼淚。這反映了愛爾蘭人常年的悲情心聲。

1920年，愛爾蘭為了尋求獨立，民間發起組織敢死游擊隊，以對抗英軍的鎮壓。在強烈愛國心與責任感的驅使下，戴米安放棄了原本前途光明的醫生職業，夥同他的兄弟泰迪加入了游擊隊，倆人冒著性命危險一起為自由而戰。很幸運的，他們運用的大膽戰略果然奏了效，成功迫使英軍簽訂了終戰協定，結束了這場內戰。

但可惜的是，這只是表面的平靜，當世界大戰爆發，他們又被迫面臨了一場又一場接踵而至的殘酷戰爭…。而此時的他們，卻因立場不同而分屬敵對的兩方，竟成了不共戴天的敵人…。

《吹動大麥的風》片名即源自愛爾蘭詩人兼作曲家的羅伯德威爾喬伊斯（Robert Dwyer Joyce）所寫的同名愛國民謠。當這首淒美動人、濃濃愛爾蘭風的歌曲飄揚在肯洛區這部電影裡，那種對生命、真情與熱忱的傳遞，令人感動異常。

70歲的英國大導演肯洛區(Ken Loach)，以其對生命的熱愛、對歷史的真誠，拍成了這部悲天憫人的電影《吹動大麥的風》。儘管英國媒體對他和這電影有諸多質疑，甚至指控他背叛國家、扭曲歷史。但其實在拍攝《吹動大麥的風》之前，肯洛區曾親自請教過當時在愛爾蘭服役的英國軍人，《吹動大麥的風》裡所有提及的暴行和酷刑，在在都是他們的親身經歷，肯洛區只是堅持將真相還原。如同肯洛區在坎城獲獎時，所說的經典名言：「一旦我們敢於說出歷史真相，也許我們就敢於說出當下的真相。」（If we dare to tell the truth about the past, perhaps we shall dare tell the truth about the present.）」）一語道破世人常常不敢面對歷史真相的鴕鳥心態。
