The year starts off on a rocky note, but under no circumstances should you consider this to be a sign of what's to come in 2015. It's unfortunate that the full moon, January 4, in Cancer 15 degrees, will be in a bad mood. This full moon may see you coming back from a holiday trip, but things are not about to go according to plan. If you need to arrange a business trip, avoid doing so from January 4-9 because full moons have an area of influence that covers four to five days beyond the date it arrives. The reason for your trip is not likely to be met, and you will wonder why you went in the first place.
At this full moon, Uranus will be in hard angle to the moon, and that means unanticipated developments will likely crop up that you won't possibly see coming, and Pluto will be acting cranky in your legal house, also ruling publishing, broadcasting, pursuits to gain a high degree, international relationships, and immigration matters - none of these areas will go smoothly. However, a full moon delivers its news and does not linger, so you will hear what needs to be fixed and will need to do it immediately.
You may be trying to negotiate a contract at the full moon, but talks won't likely go smoothly. Take your time, even though you will be rushed to finish things. Alternatively, you may have a disagreement with your brother or sister, so keep conversations mild and don't say anything that may be construed by your sibling as controversial. Actually, however, the sign of the full moon will be Cancer, a water sign that blends well with your earth-sign element. If your birthday falls on May 6, plus or minus four days, you may find that you will be able to circumvent any problem that may come up.
Despite this strange beginning to January, here's why you should be excited about 2015. You have just said goodbye to Saturn in Scorpio, which was in direct opposition to your Taurus Sun. This happened on December 23, 2014, just prior to the dawning of the New Year. While it is true that Saturn will be back to Scorpio from June 14 to September 17, 2015, a period of thirteen weeks, this visit from Saturn will mainly affect those who have birthdays that fall at the very end of the sign, near May 18-20.
If your birth date is mentioned on one of those dates, don't be concerned. Saturn is simply finishing up your tutoring session that began last year. After Saturn is done, you will be ready to face just about anything life throws your way. Each of us gets about 10 months of direct attention from Saturn, even though Saturn remains a longer time than 10 months. Saturn first entered Scorpio in October 2012.
Back in October 2012, only the early-born Taurus, those born in April, were to feel the Saturn teachings, for as Saturn orbited, it was within range of the degrees of your birthday Sun. At this juncture, all the other Taurus birthdays have had their Saturn tutoring in the character of people, but you only had only seven months. Saturn is even-handed; he will be back to finish your course of study. I can say this: it is highly unlikely anything new will come up for you if your birthdate falls May 18-20 - you know Saturn's drill by now. You have learned so much in the past two years - pat yourself on the back.
All Taurus readers can breathe a sigh of relief, as once you get to September 17 of this year, Saturn will not be back to Scorpio, a difficult place for you, until 2041 - decades from now. You will likely see your health will improve this year, and you can expect a greater ease in the interaction with one close relationship too. Some Taurus broke up as Saturn applied its tests to your alliance. If your alliance proved not to be strong, the relationship likely broke down under the weight of Saturn's pressures at some point over the past two years. If you are still together, congratulations - you made it through and you may have a very strong relationship. Saturn only comes by for two-to-three years every twenty-nine years, so you see how important a trend you've just come through.
Saturn, the taskmaster planet, has recently moved into your financial eighth house of other people's money, the area of the chart that rules credit, loans, mortgage, scholarship, financial aid at college, and other funds outside of your salary or savings. Saturn's presence suggests that you will need to take a conservative approach to your finances in the coming two years. On January 23 you might want to review your past investments with your trusted financial advisor, for the mighty Sun will be in ideal angle to Saturn on that day, bringing the opportunity for gain if you and your advisor set up a thoughtful, long-term strategy.
Saturn's position in your eighth house signifies that you will not feel the pressure you have while Saturn was in your seventh (relationships / health). While you will need to be sure all the financials that you commit to are ones that you can afford, Taurus is by nature conservative and smart with money. I am not one bit worried about how you will handle Saturn's new residence in your financial house - quite well I would say.
In your career, you've had plenty of emphasis, thanks to Mars zooming across your tenth house of fame and honors since last month, December 5. This will keep up until Mars changes signs, January 12. That means if there is more to do to capture the top job, put your nose to the grindstone to make it happen. You have Venus moving through your reputation and prestige (tenth) house until January 27, suggesting people are saying very good things about you and that you would be popular with VIPs. People that you manage would be pleased to report to you too. Mercury, the planet of thinking, is in the same house of your prestigious career advancement, so you have plenty of ammunition to get the position you have your eye on. Keep up the hard work to get it.
The following week will bring two opportunities to get ahead professionally, both from a source hidden behind the scenes, but who is nevertheless impressed with you and has the kind of power and influence to help you. Mark down January 13 and 14 when Uranus, planet of surprise, will cheerfully aspect Venus on January 13, and will aspect Mercury on January 14. Both days will be stellar days for your career. On January 13, your charm and obvious good nature will go far.
On January 14, your evolving ability to write and speak in a sophisticated manner will put you on the top of the most wanted person of all the candidates. If you feel that your communication skills are not your strong point, you might want to sign up for an evening class once a week - it's a skill that once honed will never leave you and will always separate you from the pack. This same aspect, Mercury in lovely angle to Uranus, will occur again on January 27, two days when all the right words will come to you when you need them most.
More career help will come from the glorious new moon, January 20, again in the same tenth house of career honors, fame, and advancement. This new moon will be like a blast of energy through your window, for the potential for making good money or negotiating decent company benefits will be strong, thanks to a friendly Saturn. You may not be able to get precisely the salary you ask (or maybe you will), but I do see that you would likely get excellent health insurance or other benefits, possibly a bonus or generous commission. If you have children, and have to commute, you may even negotiate flex-time where you work one day a week from home.
Your golden financial spot has to do with side benefits, not the actual salary you would be offered. That's just a tip in case you cannot get the salary you want - give a good effort, and what you can negotiate. If you cannot get the salary you want, there will be gold in company benefits. The emphasis on your career will continue through March - the first quarter of this year will be your most important time to make your biggest strides to establish yourself professionally.
Mercury will go retrograde in your career sector from January 21 until February 11, but you will start to feel the slowdowns that Mercury out of phase is known to bring earlier in the month, as soon as January 6. It may be that a former boss or client from your past will come back into your life to offer you a chance to work together again. If so, that would be an opportunity to look at closely. I usually say "Do not take a new position while Mercury retrograde or launch a new venture at that time either." There is a big EXCEPTION if the position emanates from someone you knew from earlier times. In effect, you have not just started this relationship with Mercury retrograde, but much before, making it an ongoing relationship.
Readers are adorable, always trying to bend the rules a little. "What if I met this person last week?" No, that doesn't count because Mercury will have been creating delays and crossed wires. Anyway, I am referring to a strong relationship that you started prior to present times - months or years ago. You will note I will start my new Astrology Zone TV show on February 1, while Mercury is retrograde, but several years ago I made a pilot, and it has been a dream I have worked on all this time. When it comes out on February 1, it will be the culmination of literally years of effort putting all the right pieces together. You will get more information next month. Your social life will become much more vibrant with the move of Mars into Pisces starting January 12 until February 19. You've not seen as strong an emphasis on friends, parties, and gatherings this strong for two years, so you should enjoy the change. You have been very focused on your career, and you will continue to do so, but now you have a fun influence coming in too, to help you relax as things percolate for you professionally.
Venus will move into Pisces on January 27 until February 19 and all the while will send silvery shimmers to your social sector. The events and gatherings you will be invited to should start to be more romantic, softer, and more conducive for finding new love if you are single. If you are attached, you will get more attention from your partner, which is delicious in its own right. Venus in Pisces is an ideal place for Venus to be for you, as Venus is exalted in Pisces, expressing its most beautiful qualities, and being a water sign, mixes well with your earth-sign Taurus.
On Friday, January 30, you may be invited to an important party or other event where you may mix with very successful people from different parts of life, and possibly some may be citizens from various international countries. This is a night be out and about, for sure, for it is sure to be fascinating! You may make new friends, and you certainly will enjoy every moment.
Summary
You seem to enter January refreshed from a trip or from seeing old friends at a particularly stimulating holiday. If you've been in talks for an important deal, the contract may be ready to sign at the full moon, January 4. However, take your time, even though you may be pushed by the other side to hurry and get it done. This full moon is very flawed, with problems stemming from both Uranus (unforeseen circumstances) and Pluto (powerful VIPs). Someone will try to push you to agree to clauses you feel uncomfortable agreeing to and will resist. Confer with your lawyer, but on the other hand, don't wait too long to sign, as Mercury will go retrograde January 21. Your best day to complete the deal will be January 13 or 14.
Your career will be percolating too, especially during the first half of January, as Mars will raise your visibility. It's a great time to begin dropping hints with your management that you're ready to take on more responsibility. A professional breakthrough may occur on one of your best days, January 13, when Venus will contact surprise-a-minute Uranus, and all news will likely be happy news.
On January 14 and January 27, Mercury will cook up sparks of light with genius planet Uranus to help you come up with highly original ideas. It's a day to give a speech or go to hear a talk or lecture - you'd love the event.
The new moon, January 20, the best career new moon for you of 2015, will follow, and likely bring you a serious offer, but the caveat is, you must look for it. That new moon will be in ideal angle to Saturn, the planet of stability and long-range planning. Venus, your ruling planet, will spend almost the entire month in your tenth house of fame and honors, from January 4 to 27, indicating your mind will be squarely on seeing career progress, and rightly so. (The place of your ruling planet is always indicative of showing where your concentration will be focused.) Mercury will retrograde in your career sector from January 21 to February 11, so a job you may have interviewed for in the past that you didn't get may come up again for you - this time you may win the position.
Saturn moved into Sagittarius last month and will ask you to be careful in how you appropriate funds in the future. As long as you are realistic about what you can afford, with a bit of allowance if things in life go wrong now and then, you will be fine. Keep a close check on possible identity theft too, for two years. There are services you can subscribe to that will help alert you if something seems to be amiss.
Love will take a backseat to career this month. If your holidays were romantic and joyous, those feelings will spill over into the first week of January as you let those memories play through your mind as you work. You will have two especially happy days for love, romance, and fun on January 14 and January 27, when Mercury, the ruler of your house of true love will receive a golden beam from Uranus. These dates may become your favorite moment of the month, and with the moon in Taurus, it will be close to perfect.

The full moon January 4, plus four days, may bring a holiday trip to an end. Or, it may be that you will be negotiating a contract that you notice has clauses that concern you. Take as much time as you need to sort out things, even though you may be rushed.
In the first half of January, until January 12, you will have a lot of emphasis on your career from Mars.
The new moon, January 20, will also pick up the banner and continue the trend until the end of the month. March will be active too. Have all your tools ready to get the position you want.
Mercury will be retrograde from January 21 to February 11, not a time to sign anything. You will notice that your schedule will slow down as early as January 5, so take it all in stride
On January 25, the Sun and Saturn will be well angled, making it a great day to see your banker or financial advisor to plan for your future.
January 13 will be a stellar day, filled with excitement. Venus will be contacted by Uranus - the planet of surprise. It's a great day for your career, but also for other purposes, too, as Venus rules your sign, making it fairly wonderful for any purpose - results are likely to come out in a way you'd not have expected, and yet thrill you.
January 14 has two gifts: give a speech, write one, or attend a talk or lecture. Additionally, it could be a day that sparkles for love, as Mercury rules your love sector and will be in conversation with Uranus.
On January 12, Mars will move into Pisces, into your social house, and remain there until February 19. This is a great place for Mars to be, as Mars will light up your social life.
On January 27, Venus will move into Pisces again in your social house, adding a touch of romance and beauty. Venus will remain until January 20, a lovely influence.
January 30 will be an unusually busy, fun day, when you will meet distinguished people at a gathering, from the medical, legal and academic fields. Guests are likely to come from international countries - it will be memorable.
