Lin created a stir as an amateur, winning MVP honors at the 2010 World Junior Ch
ampionships and planning to sign with the Yankees for $350,000 until the Chinese
 Taipei Baseball Association said it would ban him from playing or coaching in T
aiwan if he turned pro before graduating from high school. He stayed to get his
diploma and broke the bonus record for Taiwanese position players when the Red S
ox gave him $2.05 million in 2012. He posted just a .614 OPS in his first five y
ears in pro ball before 2017, when he broke out in Double-A and served as a comp
etent stopgap solution at third base in Boston.

林在業餘時期就引起轟動，在2010 年世界青棒錦標賽奪下 MVP，並計劃以35萬美元加盟洋
基隊，但中華棒協表示，如果他在高中畢業前就簽約，以後將禁止他在台灣打球或執教

於是他選擇留下來完成學業，最終在2012年以 205萬美元簽約紅襪，刷新了台灣野手的簽約
金紀錄，小聯盟前五年，他僅繳出 .614 OPS，直到 2017 年才在 2A突破，並在波士頓一度
成為三壘的過渡解方



Lin had more success at the plate when he did a better job of balancing selectiv
ity with aggression. He always hascontrolled the strike zone well and made cons
istent contact, but now he will pick his spots and hunt pitches to drive. He won
't be a power threat but his seven homers in 2017 eclipsed his total of six in h
is first five seasons.

當林在選球與積極進攻之間找到更好的平衡時，他的打擊表現更佳，他一直以來都有不錯的
好球帶掌控能力與穩定的擊球率，如今則更懂得挑選球路並伺機出擊，雖然他不是長打型打
者，但 2017年的7支全壘打已超越前五年的6支總和



Though his plus speed remains his best tool, Lin never has translated it into ma
ny stolen bases. It plays better on defense, where his quickness and average arm
 allow him to play shortstop, second base, third base and center field. He doesn
't have the offensive upside to profile as a regular but could be a useful utili
tyman if the progress he made at the plate is real.

儘管林的速度仍是他最大的武器，但這並未真正轉化為大量的盜壘，他的速度在守備端發揮
得更好，搭配平均水準的傳球臂力，讓他能勝任游擊、二壘、三壘甚至中外野

雖然他的打擊上限不足以支撐成為固定先發，但若能延續打擊上的進步，他將能成為一名相
當實用的工具人




但2019後就走下坡了 = =
