en telling Pirates teammates that he wants to play for the Yankees.

All-Star right-hander Paul Skenes, the 2024 NL Rookie of the Year and 2025 NL Cy
 Young favorite, has been telling Pirates teammates that he wants to play for th
e Yankees.

2024年國聯新人王、2025年國聯賽揚獎大熱門、全明星右投Paul Skenes據說曾私下告訴海
盜隊的隊友他想為洋基隊效力。

According to a 2024-25 Pirates player who recently spoke with NJ Advance Media,
Skenes has “no confidence the Pirates ever are going to win” with him in Pitts
burgh, and he’s “hoping for a trade” well before he can become a free agent a
fter the 2029 season.

根據NJ Advance Media近日訪談一位2024-2025年在海盜打球的球員所透露，Skenes完全不
相信海盜隊能在他效力匹茲堡期間能打出贏球的賽季，而且他希望能在 2029年球季成為自
由球員前就被交易。


“Trust me, he wants to play for the Yankees,” the Skenes teammate said. “I’v
e heard him say it multiple times.”

「相信我，他真的想去洋基隊打球，」那位Skenes的隊友表示「我聽他這麼講過好幾次了。
」

Cherington’s reaction?

“I do dismiss it, but I understand it,” the Pirates executive said Tuesday at
The Cosmopolitan. “What we’re going to focus on is just how do we win games wi
th him in a Pirates uniform.

“I have a ton of respect for the Yankees, but we’ll just focus on what we need
 to do.”

Cherington的反應？

「我不太在意這件事，但我能夠理解，」這位海盜隊高層週二在拉斯維加斯的科斯莫波利坦
酒店受訪時表示。「我現在們要專注的是如何在他還穿着海盜球衣時能夠贏球。」
