That is how the Los Angeles Games could look, based on the revised schedule anno
unced Wednesday by LA28 organizers. In another sign that Major League Baseball i
s headed toward an agreement to allow its players to participate in the 2028 Gam
es, LA28 adjusted its baseball schedule after discussions with the league.
Under the new schedule, the baseball competition would start on Thursday, July 1
3, 2028 — the day before the opening ceremony, rather than the day after.

這就是洛杉磯奧運可能呈現的畫面，根據LA28主辦單位週三公布的修訂賽程，這項變動也進
一步顯示，美國職棒大聯盟正朝著允許球員參加2028年奧運的方向邁進

根據新的賽程安排，棒球賽將於2028年7月13日（星期四）開打──也就是開幕典禮前一天

That would give MLB the option to hold the 2028 All-Star Game on its traditional
 Tuesday date — most likely in San Francisco — with the Olympic baseball compe
tition starting two days later in Los Angeles and ending on Wednesday, July 19.
The major league schedule could resume the following weekend.

In past Olympic baseball tournaments, MLB has declined to stop its season, so mi
nor league and college players have populated the rosters of many countries, inc
luding the United States. For 2028, MLB had no interest in canceling its All-Sta
r Game and replacing it with the Olympic competition.

過去歷屆奧運棒球比賽期間，MLB並未中斷球季，因此包括美國在內的多數國家都是由小聯
盟或大學球員組隊參賽，至於2028年MLB也沒有意願取消全明星賽並以奧運賽事取代。


However, on the heels of a dramatic World Series that attracted record worldwide
 attention, and with a highly anticipated World Baseball Classic four months awa
y, MLB would be passing up a global marketing bonanza by skipping the Olympics.

然而在剛結束引起全球關注的戲劇性世界大賽之後，加上四個月後即將開打、備受期待的世
界棒球經典賽（WBC），若MLB選擇不參加奧運，等同錯失一次全球行銷的大好機會



No final deal among LA28, MLB and the Major League Baseball Players’ Assn. has
been reached, but MLB commissioner Rob Manfred all but telegraphed this resoluti
on in July, one day after LA28 said its baseball competition would begin on the
day after the opening ceremony.

目前LA28組委會、MLB與球員工會（MLBPA）之間尚未達成最終協議，但MLB主席Rob Manfred
早在七月就幾乎預示了這樣的結果──就在LA28宣布棒球賽事將於開幕典禮隔天開打的隔日

“They put out a schedule,” Manfred said then. “They tell you it’s not going
to move. We’ll see whether there is any movement on that.

“It is possible to play the All-Star Game in its normal spot, have a single bre
ak that would be longer, but still play 162 games without bleeding into the midd
le of November. It would require significant accommodations, but it is possible.
”

「其實有可能在全明星賽照常舉行的情況下，安排一次稍長的休息期，但仍能維持162場例
行賽，而不必延到11月中，雖然需要一些重大調整，但這是可行的。」

And now, it appears likely.

如今看來這樣的結果確實愈來愈有可能實現
