事情是這樣的，由於球場Oriole Park租約到期
所以去年前老闆John Angelos就一直在和馬里蘭州談新租約
最後談成一張30年租約+政府六億美金補助
以及支付9400萬美金就可取得球場周邊地區99年的開發權
而當時就有傳出David Rubenstein在談要買下金鶯了

After a Bloomberg report indicated billionaire David Rubenstein was in talks to
buy the Baltimore Orioles, the ballclub’s chairman and CEO John Angelos called
Maryland Gov. Wes Moore on Thursday evening to assure the governor the Angelos f
amily does not plan to sell the team, according to two sources with direct knowl
edge of the call.
但John Angelos就立馬打電話給馬里蘭州州長Wes Moore
保證說它們並沒有要賣球隊
結果短短幾個月後就賣了

對此馬里蘭州財務主管Dereck Davis表示：
金鶯是一家私人企業，他們可以做他們想做的事情沒錯
但在明知自己之後不會繼續持有球隊的狀況下
還向政府要了六億美元、要了土地開發權
然後說這一切都是為了巴爾的摩、為了馬里蘭州
Dereck Davis認為鑒於它們對此所作的投資(600M)，他們有權知道真相
結果Angelos直接欺騙他們
