Wizards GM says Westbrook 'never asked to move on' from DC
巫師總管說龜龜 "從沒要求說要離開"華盛頓

The Wizards’ decision to trade Russell Westbrook to the Los Angeles Lakers
this offseason may have been in the best interest of the star point guard,
but Washington GM Tommy Sheppard attests that Westbrook was “professional”
and never demanded a trade from the team.
巫師休賽季把Russell Westbrook交易到湖人或許是為了這位明星控衛好，但是巫師總管
Tommy Sheppard出來證實，Westbrook一直保持"專業"，從來沒有要求說要吹密。

“I really have to make sure the record is straight on that,” Sheppard said
in an interview with NBC Sports Washington’s Chris Miller. “Russell
actually never asked to move on. He just said, ‘If I can get to the Lakers,
that’d be something I would love to do. If not, I’ll be back here.’ I
said, ‘What about the Clippers?’ He said, ‘Hell no.’ So Russell was happy
being here and we were very grateful for him being here.”
「我真的得要確定這件事講的正確，」Sheppard在接受記者訪問時說到。「龜龜實際上從
沒要求說要轉隊。他只有說，『如果我可以去湖人，那會是我很愛做的事；若是沒有的
話，我就會回到這裡。』然後我說，『那如果去快艇呢？』他回，『他X的當然不。』所
以龜龜在這裡其實很開心的，而我們大家也因為他在這裡打球心存感激的。」

Westbrook, 32, was born and raised in the Los Angeles suburbs. He grew up
rooting for the Lakers, attended college at UCLA and remained attached to the
area throughout his NBA career. Given the opportunity to play alongside
LeBron James and compete for a championship with his hometown team, Westbrook
impelled the Wizards to explore a trade.
今年32歲的Westbrook是在洛杉磯的郊區出生並長大的，從小就是湖人粉，大學念UCLA，
在進入NBA後也一直與當地保持聯繫。有機會可以跟LBJ並肩作戰，替家鄉打冠軍，
Westbrook促使巫師球團探詢交易的可能性。

On the day of the NBA Draft, an agreement was in place: Westbrook was headed
to LA, with Kyle Kuzma, Montrezl Harrell and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope
headlining Washington’s return. The trade ended up being much more
complicated than that, but Westbrook got his wish and the Wizards received a
package they saw suitable for a player of his caliber.
在選秀的那天，雙方同意：Westbrook去湖人，Kyle Kuzma，Montrezl Harrell跟
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope去巫師。最後達成的交易比這複雜的多，但是Westbrook得償
所望，而巫師也拿到了一包他們認為符合這位明星球員價值的球員們。

“You’re looking at the season Russell had, it’s a travesty he wasn’t
All-NBA as well,” Sheppard said. “Bradley [Beal] deserved it more than
anybody but I thought Russell, he should’ve had his flowers. The guy
averaged a triple-double. He helped take this team to the playoffs when we
were sitting pretty much in a situation where, look, I thought the season was
over midway through.”
「大家看一下上個賽季的龜龜，他沒有進入NBA最佳隊伍真的是搞笑，」Sheppard說。
「Bradley比其他人都更應該進，但是我認為龜龜也應該得到他的讚賞。場均大三元，然
後當球隊在球季中的戰績看起來無望時，他也幫球隊打進季後賽。」

As the Wizards move forward without Westbrook, the former MVP’s mark on the
organization remains.
儘管巫師本季不會有Westbrook，這位前MVP球員仍對巫師球團留下了印記。

“I can’t say it enough that the footprints he put in here, it was just like
when Truth was here before that,” Sheppard said. “When Paul Pierce came
through, his impact on this organization top to bottom was profound and I can
’t thank Russell enough.”
「對於龜龜在巫師所留下的影響，我說再多都不夠，那就像是那時候"真理"(Truth)
Paul Pierce來這裡一樣，」Sheppard說。「當Pierce來過後，他對整個球隊的影響是從上
到下的；同樣的，我再怎麼感謝龜龜都是不夠的。」
