湖人拒絕了用THT換回首輪籤+Birch的機會

Starting last season, the Los Angeles Lakers were shopping guard Talen Horton-Tu
cker in an attempt to bring back some talent that could help them improve right
away.

從上個賽季開始，洛杉磯湖人隊就在兜售後衛THT，試圖換回一些能夠立即提升球隊的好球
員。

The Lakers eventually sent him to the Utah Jazz along with forward Stanley Johns
on for veteran guard Patrick Beverley, but according to Dave McMenamin, they rep
ortedly turned down an opportunity to get a first-round pick from the Toronto Ra
ptors for him.

湖人最終把他和前鋒Stanley一起送到了猶他爵士，換來了老將後衛天空貝，但據McMenamin
表示，他們拒絕了從多倫多暴龍得到首輪籤的機會。

“I’m told that the Lakers had talks with the Toronto Raptors, where the Raptor
s, late last year, when it already looked like the Lakers were probably out of i
t or, at the very least, going to be a low seed and wouldn’t have a likely cham
pionship path to go all the way. The Raptors would have traded for Talen Horton-
Tucker,” said McMenamin. “Traded a first-round pick. So, think about that, the
 Lakers had another first-round pick on top of the two firsts right now to play
with to try to make this team better. … Now, of course, I’m told the trade wou
ld have also involved Khem Birch so they would have taken some money there, and
maybe Birch wouldn’t be the best rotation guy for this group, but that first-ro
und pick is so valuable, and it’s why they’re so hamstrung with what they can
pursue right now.”

ESPN記者McMenamin：我被告知湖人與多倫多暴龍進行過談判。去年年底，當湖人看起來可
能已經會被淘汰，或者至少是一個排名較後面的種子，已經沒有冠軍相的時候，暴龍願意用
首輪籤去交換用THT。所以，想想看如果換了，現在湖人除了兩個首輪籤之外，還會有另外
一個首輪籤可以讓這支球隊變得更好。當然，我被告知這筆交易還會包含Birch，所以他們
會付出一些錢，也許Birch不會是這支球隊最好的輪換球員，但那個首輪籤太有價值了，這
就是為什麼他們現在有可以追求的球員卻無能為力的原因。
