Giannis Antetokounmpo talks Knicks trade report after Bucks win

Giannis Antetokounmpo 在公鹿贏球後回應有關尼克交易傳聞

Giannis Antetokounmpo played the New York Knicks for the 42nd time in his career
 as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks, the second-most he’s faced a team behind d
ivision rivals Detroit and Indiana (44). But it was the first time he suited up
against the Knicks after ESPN reported on Oct. 7 that the 30-year-old would like
 to play for them, which initiated a conversation between the teams regarding a
potential trade of the two-time league MVP.

Giannis Antetokounmpo 以公鹿球員身分，生涯第 42 次對上尼克，這是他面對次數第二多
的球隊，僅次於同區的活塞與溜馬（各 44 次）。但這是他在 ESPN 於 10 月 7 日報導他
「想為尼克效力」之後，第一次對上尼克。該報導更引發兩隊之間針對這位兩屆 MVP 可能
被交易的討論。


Antetokounmpo addressed that report in Milwaukee directly on Oct. 8, saying in p
art, "I think after this interview here, I'm not going to see it, you guys are g
oing to see it, it's going to have you guys' names on there. Report from (the Jo
urnal Sentinel) and (The Athletic): 'Giannis is committed to Milwaukee and commi
tted to this team.' And it's going to end it.”

Antetokounmpo 隔天（10 月 8 日）在密爾瓦基直接回應該報導，他表示：「我想在這次訪
問之後，我不會再看到那些報導，是你們（記者）會看到，上面還會有你們的名字。出自《
Journal Sentinel》和《The Athletic》的報導：『Giannis 對密爾瓦基以及這支球隊全心
投入。』這樣就能結束這件事了。」


But with the traveling New York media in town for the game, that did not end it.

He was asked several questions after the game about the report by Knicks beat wr
iters. Here is the exchange with two reporters:

Reporter: Going back to an ESPN report from earlier this month, part of it was t
hat if you were traded you’d prefer to go to the Knicks…

Antetokounmpo: “Who said that?”

Antetokounmpo：「誰說的？」

Reporter: "It was an ESPN report…"

Antetokounmpo: “I don’t read that.”

Antetokounmpo：「我不看那些東西。」

Reporter: "I was wondering if that was true, and if it is…"

記者：「我只是想確認那是否屬實，如果是真的……」

Antetokounmpo shook his head.

Antetokounmpo 搖了搖頭。

Reporter: "Or it’s not? OK…"

記者：「不是嗎？好吧……」

Antetokounmpo: “I don’t remember that. Right now I’m here representing my tea
m and that’s it. We beat the Knicks. So it doesn’t really matter. What matters
 right now is we have a game in two days against Golden State. Try to stay locke
d in and get two in a row. But I didn’t read that article. I try to stay away f
rom all that rumors, how do you call it, speculations and trade and all this. Th
at doesn’t concern me one bit. I try to involve myself and try to help my team
win games."

Antetokounmpo：「我不記得有那回事。現在我只代表我的球隊，這就是重點。我們今天贏
了尼克，這才重要。兩天後我們要對上勇士，所以我得保持專注，力拼二連勝。但我沒有看
那篇報導，我盡量遠離那些謠言——你們怎麼說的？傳聞、交易這些東西——那跟我一點關
係也沒有。我只專注於自己，並努力幫助球隊贏球。」


Reporter: Does that stuff become a distraction when you’re the focus of the NBA
 world for like a week with that report that you didn’t see?

記者：當你因為那份你沒看過的報導，而成為整個NBA世界關注的焦點時，這些事情會讓你
分心嗎？

Antetokounmpo: “If it becomes a distraction for me? I don’t have time. I’m no
t going to lie to you. I have four kids. I have a seven-month-old, two-year-old,
 four-year-old and five-year-old. So, brother, I don’t have time to be; even if
 I wanted to pay attention to stuff like that my life don’t let me. I have four
 little gremlins that are running around and I have my craft that I gotta improv
e and then I gotta lead a team and then I’ve got other things. I’ve got my wif
e, I’ve got my mother, I’ve got my brothers, I’ve got to go to church. Man, I
 ain’t got time for all that. So, I’m being very, very honest with you. I just
 love playing basketball and I try to speak on the court.”

Antetokounmpo：「那些事情會讓我分心嗎？我根本沒時間。我不會騙你，我有四個小孩，
分別是七個月、兩歲、四歲和五歲。兄弟，我真的沒時間。就算我想去注意那些東西，我的
生活也不允許。我家裡有四個小惡魔跑來跑去，我還得精進我的球技、帶領球隊，還有其他
事情要處理。我有老婆、有媽媽、有兄弟，還要去教會。老兄，我哪有時間去管那些？我非
常誠實地告訴你，我只是喜歡打籃球，並且希望用表現來說話。」
