Dallas Mavericks owners file lawsuit against Stars over American Airlines Center
upgrades, Stars file countersuit

The majority owners of the Dallas Mavericks filed suit Tuesday against Dallas St
ars ownership, accusing the franchise of breaching its lease and blocking long-o
verdue upgrades to American Airlines Center.
達拉斯獨行俠隊的大股東於週二對共用主場的NHL達拉斯星隊母集團提起訴訟，指控對方
違反租約，並阻撓對主場美國航空中心進行早該完成的升級改建
Dallas Sports Group said the improvements are critical to preserving the fan exp
erience and the venue’s future.
達拉斯體育集團（DSG&小犢母集團）表示，這些修繕對維護球迷體驗及場館的未來至關重要
A statement released by the Stars called the lawsuit “nothing short of an attem
pted hostile takeover of the management of the AAC,” and that the “lawsuit see
ks to marginalize the Dallas Stars to the role of a mere tenant,” driving the t
eam out of Dallas.
星隊發表聲明回應稱，這起訴訟「無異是企圖奪取美國航空中心管理權」，並批評訴訟的目
的是「將達拉斯星隊邊緣化為僅僅是一個租戶」，意圖將球隊逐出達拉斯
The Stars also announced it filed a lawsuit to restore normal operations at the
AAC and prevent the Mavericks’ “attempted hostile takeover.”
星隊同時宣布已提出反訴，目的是恢復美國航空中心的正常營運，並防止獨行俠進行所謂的
「惡意接管」
DSG filed a petition Tuesday in Texas Business Court seeking injunctive relief a
gainst Stars ownership, escalating a dispute over control of American Airlines C
enter at a time when both teams remain locked into leases through 2031.

In a statement, the Mavericks’ majority ownership group said the fan experience
at AAC will remain unchanged during the legal dispute and reaffirmed its commit
ment to investing in the venue to ensure its long-term viability.
獨行俠的大股東在聲明中表示，訴訟期間美國航空中心的球迷體驗將不受影響，並重申他們
致力於投資場館以確保其長期營運
DSG said Stars ownership has resisted AAC improvements, despite initial support.
DSG指出，星隊的母集團雖然最初表態支持，但後來卻一直抵制美國航空中心的修繕計畫
“Despite initial signs of cooperation, Stars ownership has consistently resiste
d efforts to improve the facility,” the Mavericks’ ownership group said in the
statement.
獨行俠在聲明中表示：「儘管一開始顯示出合作的跡象，但後來星隊方始終抗拒」
According to DSG, the Stars ended negotiations with the Mavericks and the city o
f Dallas over AAC upgrades and a lease extension in October 2024.

But according to the Stars’ leadership, that claim isn’t true.
但星隊高層則否認此說法
“From day one of the partnership, the Stars have always been willing partners t
o ensure the appropriate stewardship and maintenance of the AAC,” Stars leaders
hip said in a statement, adding that most recently, the team committed $30 milli
on to renovations to enhance the fan experience.
星隊高層在聲明中指出：「自合作關係建立以來，星隊一直都是積極的合作夥伴，致力於確
保美國航空中心的良好維護與經營」
他們補充表示，球隊最近已投入三千萬美元用於翻修，以提升球迷體驗
Both teams, according to DSG, had committed to keeping their corporate headquart
ers in Dallas through 2031, but the Stars relocated theirs to Frisco — a move D
SG says violates that agreement.
根據DSG的說法，兩隊原先均承諾將球隊總部留在達拉斯直到2031年，但星隊卻已將總部遷
往Frisco，DSG認為這違反了協議
“More than two decades ago, both teams agreed to play their home games and main
tain their corporate headquarters in Dallas through 2031, in exchange for financ
ial support from the city,” DSG said.
DSG指出：「二十多年前，雙方球隊同意將主場及總部留在達拉斯至2031年，以換取市政府
的財政支持」
“… After repeated unsuccessful attempts to engage Stars ownership in discussio
ns about AAC operations and improvements, DSG is now turning to the courts to co
nfirm its lease ownership and enable the desired renovations.”
「……在多次嘗試與星隊討論美國航空中心的營運與改善事宜都無果後，DSG現已訴諸法院
，希望確認自身的租約權益並推動預定的改建計畫。」
The Stars said the team uses the Frisco office in conjunction with its principal
office in Downtown Dallas.
星隊則表示，他們在Frisco的辦公室是與達拉斯市中心的主要辦公室並行使用的
Dallas City Manager Kimberly Bizor Tolbert expressed hope that both professional
sports teams will maintain their long-standing commitment to the city and remai
n in Dallas.
達拉斯市則表達希望兩支職業球隊都能維持對城市的長期承諾並繼續留在達拉斯
“That would be the best outcome for the two teams and their fans,” Tolbert sai
d.
「這將是對兩隊及其球迷而言最好的結果。」
