(2) @MaxTGoodman: Yankees updates from Aaron Boone here in Detroit:
- Clarke Schmidt will make his final rehab start tomorrow. If all goes well,
he'll be reinserted back into the rotation next week
- Luis Gil (lat strain) is less than a week away from starting his throwing
program
- DJ LeMahieu (calf) is still on track to start his rehab assignment later this
week. He'll bounce back and forth between Somerset and Scranton/Wilkes-Barre
- Yankees aren't sure exactly when Tyler Matzek (oblique) will be ready to
return from the IL. He needs "at least a few" rehab assignment appearances
(3) @MaxTGoodman: The wings that gave Cody Bellinger food poisoning were room
service at the team hotel while he was watching the national championship game.
Traditional bone-in.
“They were good coming in,” he said, “but I woke up at 4 AM sweating … Was
a rough morning.”
(4) @GJoyce9: Clarke Schmidt is scheduled to make his final (if all goes well)
rehab start tomorrow either at SWB or Somerset, wherever it’s not going to
rain.
Luis Gil is expected to start a throwing program in the next several days, per
Boone.
