o close in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.
愛爾蘭共和國的學校、大學和其他公共設施因武漢肺炎爆發關閉。

Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Leo Varadkar said the measures would take eff
ect from 18:00 on Thursday to 29 March.
首相說措施自週四18:00起生效並持續至3/29。

The first death linked to coronavirus has been recorded in the Republic of Ire
land.
愛爾蘭共和國已經出現首起因武漢肺炎導致的死亡案例。

The elderly woman died in a Dublin hospital on Wednesday.
一位女性長者週三在都柏林的醫院逝世。

Mr Varadkar said schools, colleges and childcare facilities will close from Fr
iday.
首相說學校、大學和育幼機構將自週五關閉。

He said indoor mass gatherings of more than 100 people and outdoor gatherings
of more than 500 people should be cancelled.
他說室內超過100人及室外超過500人的群聚活動應該被取消。

He added that where it is possible to work remotely people should do so.
他同時說如果有辦法的話儘量遠端工作。

Mr Varadkar said the public and businesses needed to take a sensible approach,
 adding that the Irish cabinet would meet later and that Northern Ireland and
GB would be briefed.
