Leo Horoscope for March 2013

By Susan Miller

Leo is considered a highly creative sign, not one that's driven to overly concentrate on finances. When you do get involved with money and funding, as you will this month, it's often to launch an artistic endeavor that requires a lot of investment from outside sources. That may be the case now for you, as six heavenly bodies, all in Pisces, will line up in your house of "other people's money." This money I am referring to this month may be needed to make a screenplay a reality. Or you may want to produce an album for a new, talented artist or be approved for a mortgage on a new house or condo.

The emphasis this month will be on eighth house funding, and that is not your personal salary or funding, but big money that is typically more than the average person would have in their own reserves - hence, the reason you would seek more. Included in this Pisces party will be the Sun, your ruler, Mercury (news, communication), Venus (beauty and art), Mars (action), Neptune (creativity), and an important new moon, March 11, that will wrap all this energy together and make it accessible to you.

This new moon will arrive arm-in-arm with Venus, a good sign you can get the money you need. Saturn will also be very friendly to the new moon too, signaling his beams from your house of home. As a Leo you have had a stressful situation involving a residential or family condition that you've been wrangling with for six months, since October, starting when Saturn first entered Scorpio and this part of your chart. This month you can get a break, for Saturn will be very friendly and bring his gift of stability and security to any endeavor you start to work on at the new moon, March 11. If you want to apply for a mortgage, do so after March 11, the new moon, but better yet, wait one week longer.

With Mercury continuing to be retrograde until March 17, as part of this lineup in Pisces in your financial house, the chance of you making an error in your application or paperwork in a business plan would be higher than usual. Go slowly and check every detail. This is tax season, too, so this month you may be going through your receipts to file your tax return, and the same advice applies - be careful. You won't want to forget to list a legal deduction, and if you make a mathematical mistake, you will get a follow-up letter from the government. There are so many reasons you would need to go slowly and get things right.

Neptune is part of the planets in your eighth house, and Neptune, in addition to Mercury retrograde, can also cloud facts - and we are talking mathematics here. If you are closing on a new house and it HAS to be this month, try to get the closing date moved to just after March 17, but not much later than that. We have storm clouds gathering in the last week of March - which I will discuss later - but ideally, I would suggest you do it in early April near April 5 or 6.

Neptune's presence in your eighth house, and so highlighted this month by its association with so many other planets in Pisces, suggests you might have to deal with the shock of identity theft. Credit bureaus make mistakes (lately a LOT of mistakes, according to news reports), and it is up to you to find them quickly. In the US, you are allowed one free credit report a year, so you should take advantage of that option. If you have an easy name like I do, the credit bureaus often mix things up - you would freak out if you knew the problem I had not long ago with a mistaken identity. Do yourself a favor and read your credit report, because the longer the error stays in the files, the longer it takes to fix. Don't only check credit card lists, but also public records in the report.

The same eighth house that rules other people's money also rules surgery and important medical procedures, so you may be having a procedure now. If your doctor is puzzled by your test results, he or she may request you have exploratory surgery. Neptune will orbit far from the new moon in Pisces, 21 degrees, so you can go ahead, for Neptune will not cloud this new moon. I would suggest you wait until after Mercury turns direct, March 17. (Don't wait too long, however, because as said, the end of the month brings cosmic storms. Early April is better.) Of course, with any surgery you need to do your homework and find the very best doctor for your condition - someone you can trust. I once read that most people take more time planning their vacation than searching for the right doctor, so don't be that person - ask friends for references, and also search through other means.

It is alternatively possible that with a Pisces new moon (March 11) being a very fertile new moon for conception, you or your partner might have an in-vitro procedure to help you have a baby. It appears to be a very good time to do so.

If you are scheduled for an operation on your foot, you may want to wait until after Mars is out of Pisces (Mars, a hot planet, rules the feet when in Pisces), so wait until Mars moves to Aries on March 12 or beyond. You will have plenty of time to do your operation in April, if that suits you. Finally, this month you may have a reaction to a drug, so ask about possible side effects before you take any new medication.

This is not your best month to travel - postpone your trip to April, even if your trip is a short one. The month will bring two very difficult aspects. The first will come on March 22, when Mars will conjoin Uranus. This can be an explosive aspect, for Mars is the aggressive, energetic planet, and Uranus is the planet of completely unexpected experiences, including angry outbursts and impulsive acts. Even though you will be free of Mercury retrograde by this date, travel wouldn't be wise. Also refrain from signing a contract anywhere near March 22 and the end of March. Do so next month, say, April 5 or 6.

The full moon will be monstrous. Falling in Libra on March 27 at 7 degrees, it will oppose Uranus and bring all kinds of difficulty in regard to travel, for Uranus will oppose the full moon. At the same time Uranus will conjoin the Sun in Aries, giving you a need to feel free of all restriction. The Sun is your ruler, so with Uranus aligned with the Sun, you need to expect the unexpected, especially from people on foreign shores, in academia, the courts, immigration services, and the media. This full moon is so volatile I need you to be careful.

Pluto will be in hard angle to this full moon from your solar house of work projects, so if you are traveling to nail a deal, present a new idea, or to deliver a final product, things are not likely to go well. Alternatively, you may not feel energetic or entirely well, and getting through the trip you might be difficult. If you will be working on a writing project, don't leave the finish to the end of the month - try to get it done earlier to avoid stress.

You are not directly in the path of this wild full moon - rather the cardinal signs of Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn will be - but all of us have these signs somewhere in our charts, if only as guardians at the cusp of certain chart houses. If you have one of these signs rising, or a natal planet in your chart in one of these signs within five degrees of 7 degrees, you will feel the effects of the full moon. Still, on the other hand, a full moon in air sign Libra, even it is a disagreeable full moon, as this one will be, does blend well with your sign, Leo. The Leos who will benefit - and most likely find a way around the challenges of this moon - are those born on July 29, plus or minus five days. So while you may not like the full moon, you may also find a way around it and actually come out ahead.

Near the last day of the month, Saturday, March 30, brings a wink between love-planet Venus and generous, happy Jupiter. This date falls very close to the full moon, so you will likely be thinking of all that occurred, but if you need a happy break, then this weekend will offer you the chance to go. It might take your mind off whatever came up, and so if you can take advantage of this light and happy moment, do. The moon will be in Sagittarius, a fellow fire sign like yours and associated with love and romance, which is just the icing on the cake.

Summary

March finds you to be quite a money magnet and you may revel in your good fortune almost the moment the month begins. An astounding six planets will be in your eighth house of money that is associated with resources you need to fund a big dream, such as to fund tuition to a university, be approved for a mortgage to buy a house, or to get venture capital to build your own business. This month, think big. It will be decades until you see the kind of powerful support the cosmos has lined up for you.

Although planets will help you to amass financial favor from the start of March, you will notice a big advantage after the new moon arrives, March 11. It appears you might be discussing a new condo / house sale or purchase. Talks with the bank would go well, and the terms of the mortgage are likely to please you. Saturn will be beautifully angled, so if you are entering a situation where you will live in the house a long time, Saturn will see to it that this happens.

Alternatively, you may be involved in the sale of a piece of art or an artistic screenplay, novel, or other expression, with a large royalty, commission, or licensing fee due you now. Still, with Mercury retrograde most of the month, if the deal is new, talk, but don't put in an application or accept the deal until after Mercury goes March 17. If you can wait until April to settle things, that would be ideal.

Among the group of happy planets in your eighth house of "other people's money" will be Mars (coaxing you to find new sources of money - and to spend it, too), the Sun (access of authority figures), Venus (happiness), Mercury (talk and communication), and Neptune (art and creativity). Neptune is associated with fog too however, and may make you confused. With Neptune's hard angle to Jupiter, the financial planet, it will be critical that you understand all terms of any deal you are presented.

Beyond this caveat, in the first three weeks of March, you will be tempted to put everything you hear and do through a financial filter. Not everything can be assigned a material value - some things go beyond money and are priceless and spiritual, so don't over emphasize money, especially when it comes to love and friendships.

The planets in the Pisces grouping will begin to dissolve by the last third of the month. Mars will leave Pisces first, March 11, and begin to energize your long-distance travel sector from Aries, urging you to travel over many miles soon, but don't get impulsive - April is better. The Sun will move into Aries on March 20, giving you a much greater yen to be in a new setting. Fun-oriented Venus will follow into Aries March 22 and will join Uranus in Aries, already there.

This same area of the chart where these planets will head in the last third of March rules philosophy and your ability to think deeply about meaningful questions, and you may be surprised to experience unique flashes of insight. An unusual episode may ensue, especially on March 22, when Mars and Uranus link - be careful, however, as things may turn out to be either explosive and angry or liberating and excitingly creative. When Uranus is involved, anything goes.

At the same time, pressure will be building. The full moon will oppose the planets congregating in Aries, when it appears March 27 in Libra. This full moon will light your third house of short travel and transportation but this time, taking a journey would not be wise. This full moon will be rife with conflicting energy, both positive and negative, but mostly the latter. The full moon will be opposed by Uranus and Mars and blocked by Pluto. Pluto will also pick a fight with Mars, making travel doubly difficult. The Sun, your ruling star, will be conjunct Uranus, planet of unexpected developments. This adds up to extremely heavy-duty planetary artillery. If you go away, the purpose of your trip may be negated. If the meeting is important, consider delaying your trip to April. If you can't change it, nail down every detail but, expect difficulties.

Communication that comes to you at this time will likely jar you, and require you to find a good way to deal instantly with whatever comes up. Pluto's involvement suggests a work project might go haywire, so from the very beginning of the month, as things progress, keep your eye on all elements of the assignment and closely oversee the work of those who report to you. Contracts signed now won't be favorable and may even dissolve before the term has ended. If asked to sign papers, do so next month, after the new moon in Aries, April 10.

The month might end on a sweet note, thanks to a lovely flirtation between Venus and Jupiter. You will be coming off a tough full moon, but it will still have life left to it, so you may receive conflicting messages over the weekend of March 30-31. Still, romantically, good feelings may flow at a beautiful social event. The work project that had its wheels fly off may be on its way to repair by the weekend - relax and have fun if by then you feel you've found the right answer to fix things.

Dates to Note: Leo

Most romantic dates: March 12, 17, 18, 23, 26, 30, and 31.

Venus in Aries is a good spot for you, dear Leo: March 21 to April 19. Use this period to improve your looks.

Financial considerations will be dominant for you after the new moon March 11 and the two weeks to follow.

You may be taking (or planning) an important trip overseas now that Mars will enter Aries from March 12 to April 19.

If you are a student in a university, Mars will energize you to think about the classes for the next semester that you hope to sign up for soon.

Matters of immigration, citizenship, passport, and visas will be successfully handled anytime after March 12 through April 19.

Mercury goes direct March 17, having been retrograde since February 23. Hooray!

Watch March 22 as a day when people will be rash and quick to fly off the handle. You may be quick to react, too. Make safety a priority in your home as well.

The full moon in Libra, March 27, is a troublesome one, so do your best to avoid signing a contract within four days of this date. You may want to travel at this point, but it may be rife with problems - see if you can delay the trip.

A social event may be very special March 30 - if you feel up to going, do!
