10月 Monthly Horoscope for Capricorn

Planets in October are feisty and out of sorts. You are a cardinal sign (Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn), but when planets like Uranus and Pluto move through Aries and Capricorn, these planets don't blend easily with each other. The first part of the month will bring the hardest aspects, which is good - we all will get them out of the way quickly. Throughout the month, however, you'll have to stay alert as rapidly changing conditions bring on challenges. Although at times, you'll be tempted to rush to get things signed, sealed, and delivered, in the volatile environment that October brings, you would be wise to have patience, and for now, adopt a watch and wait approach.

The first difficult aspect arrives on October 1 when the Sun and Pluto in Capricorn will clash. As the month opens you appear to be dealing with a bureaucrat who is forcing his or her will on you and may also make you do a lot of paperwork. This person seems stubborn and unyielding - a partner, agent, broker, or other middleman - who wants things his way, and turns a deaf ear to your comments, suggestions, and explanations. This can be very frustrating, so keep breathing, dear Capricorn. Avoid the temptation to challenge this VIP because your career will suffer.

A harder day will arrive October 3, when Uranus in Aries will oppose the Sun in Libra. This could bring difficulties with a housing matter, quite out of the blue, and make it very hard to concentrate at work. You seem to be discovering something on this day, and what you hear may rock you. The Sun rules a financial house in your chart, so your income or savings may be looped into this question - it appears you will need to either spend money to solve the problem or give up money when you are told money is simply not coming. If you are being downsized, you may be discussing your exit package. (Don't worry if you are leaving one job - as you will soon see, Mars will help you find a plethora of opportunity for a new prestigious position.

The Sun is currently in your professional house of career progress, while Uranus is in your home sector, so home seems to be the area of instability, although you will feel some tremors in your career, too. For example, you may hear your apartment building has been sold, and you will have to move very soon. Or, you may be offered the promotion of your dreams, but the caveat is that you must move to London - instantly and out of the blue. You may feel that all this is coming at an inconvenient time while pressing things are going on in your private life, and you will feel pulled in two directions. The eighth house, which rules money, also rules surgery, so you may have an operation scheduled, and you will need to figure out what to do if you now being told to move. If your physical home does not represent the dilemma, then it may be that you are caring for an elderly parent, and leaving is not so easy, as your parent depends on you.

There are so many possible ways sudden news can come to you at home on October 3. Your roommate may suddenly leave without any notice, and/or you may attempt to lease or buy an apartment but you encounter a landlord who has a set an outrageously high financial bar for entry. You may be shocked that you are encountering problems qualifying for your desired space, or that your bank is not automatically offering you a mortgage. It's also possible you've been living with your significant other, and after a breakup, you realize you need to move - fast. The lunar eclipse will end this meditation on October 18, so stay with me - I will discuss that in due time.

The following day, October 4, the new moon in Libra, 12 degrees, will light your sector of professional advancement. Again, the planetary energy that has been shaking things up on October 1 and 3 from Pluto and Uranus will be part of the gang the new moon's package will be sending out to the world.

Until now, October 4, the Sun was drawn into the conversation with the aspects of October 1 and 3, indicating that money was a very big focus. If you are in sales, your quota may have been changed in a way that does not favor you, or if you expect certain benefits from your company, the package may have been changed not to your favor. You may get a large tax bill that you feel is unfairly calculated, as Pluto is often linked to the government. Or, if trying to move, you may be challenged to come up with a lot of money, part for excessive deposits and broker's fees.

Now it's the new moon, which rules your partner - spouse, boyfriend/girlfriend or business partner - that will become prominent too and add his or her opinions to this situation. Your partner may start to freak out about the changes in your career and living arrangement, so you'll have to calm this person while you decide what to do. Many demands will be on you at work and at home, but fortunately you are a Capricorn, known to stay cool under pressure.

A new moon sets up two weeks of energy, and the seeds you plant during that time affect you for the year to come, until the next new moon has time to refresh that energy next October 2014. What concerns me is that this new moon is flawed, so while you can find a high level position to aim toward, the road to success will not be strewn with rose petals - more likely, you'll find a few thorns. By that I mean that competition will be keen for your new position, and you will have to find every ounce of strength to fight for it, and to solve those living arrangement challenges.

Come December, Mars will enter this same professional part of your chart (tenth house) and instead of staying the typical six weeks, Mars will remain in your tenth house of fame, honors, and awards sector nearly eight months. This can put you on top of the world, but this tells me that whatever comes up now, at the new moon, October 4, will set off a trend that will last for months, until Mars leaves Libra on July 25, 2014. You can do very well under this phase, but you will have to be ready to work hard and smart for all that you earn. As one of the most ambitious career-oriented signs, that is not news to you! In your life, I bet you have earned every star on your lapel.

The coming eclipse on October 18 will bring your mind back to a home living situation. Eclipses often mark big life events, so we always need to pay close attention to an eclipse. This one is a full moon lunar eclipse, and those end things so that you can move on to new possibilities. It's clear that when it comes to home and family, you will need to make some decisions soon.

If you are not thinking about your home, it may be about other property or a family member, most likely your mother or father. If a position will take you far away, you may need to pause to decide how your beloved parent will fare without you near. These are not easy questions. If you are not ready to think about your living situation or a family matter, the eclipse will decide for you, never an ideal situation. Research your options and be in charge, dear Capricorn.

This full moon eclipse in Aries on October 18 should not be too difficult to experience, as Mars, the planet that rules Aries, will be nicely angled to Pluto, so a transformation is due for you. Mars will oppose Neptune, however, so if you are about to buy or lease a house, ask your appraiser or an engineer to study the water system, and find out if the location has ever had problems with hurricanes, floods, or tainted water. Also see if there is anything untoward about that house that the previous tenant has tried to conceal. Neptune obfuscates information, so even if you are not investigating property but something else, dig deeper and look further.

Because Mars will be in your long-distance travel house, that also rules academia, the media, legal and immigration matters (green card, visa, and passports) - one of these areas will shine for you at the time of the eclipse, October 18, and will likely bring good news. You may get a chance to study abroad, get a grant to research overseas, or simply travel abroad for fun. Your mind will open up to new concepts, and at the same time, the high level spending you experienced in September will drop. Things that happen at eclipse time have weight that other new moons and full moons don't - eclipses often mark the important moments in our lives, so see what comes up, dear Capricorn.

Mercury is due to go retrograde in Scorpio from October 21 to November 10, and you will feel the characteristic slowdowns as soon as October 1. This is the reason October is such a messy month. Hopefully you made good use of last month, because to ensure the future success of new launches and new relationships, you will need to wait until November to set them in motion, from November 12 onward (leaving a space of two days from November 10 for Mercury to regulate a bit).

This month will be more about polishing up previously made projects, reconnecting with people from your past, and redoing the parts that have errors or need to be redone, but it is not about starting anything new, not even a new relationship. If you are in love with a former lover, and hope for reconciliation, the time Mercury is retrograde might be the time to try. Love is hard to find, so if you feel you have, I always am in favor of giving a relationship one more try. Do so between October 21 and November 10.

Do not sign any contracts this month, and do not open the doors of your new business. Some readers mistakenly assume that by giving a verbal agreement to a new job, it does not count as a signature - but a verbal "yes" does count. In time you would see the venture you agreed to during Mercury retrograde was not for you, but you won't find it out until you do lots of hard work.

The only exception to the rule of "never take a job during Mercury retrograde" is if you accept an offer from a former boss or a company you used to work with in the past, and would like to again. In that case, you can accept, because you are continuing a previously established relationship. Readers are always trying to get around rules of Mercury retrograde - be sure your former working relationship is genuine and ran for a long time.

The one rule that you cannot ignore is the one that says not to buy any electronic items, a car, or appliance from October 21 to November 10, as Mercury rules electronics and moving parts in machines, and one of those elements is likely to be damaged. Even if it is not, you will not enjoy your purchase nearly as you imagine you will if you acquire it now. In the case of buying an electronic or any highly expensive item, skip October and keep your eye on mid-November.

Mercury will retrograde in your friendship sector, so you may enjoy this phase, for you are likely to run into at least one long lost friend from your past. Mercury in retrograde wants us to go back to reconnect, so you will certainly have fun.

Romantically, November will be better, so hang in there. You have so many important decisions to sort out this month!

By mid-November you will be back in the saddle, dear Capricorn. Venus will move into Capricorn, and life will begin to sparkle again.
Summary

This month may bring a defining month for your public and private life. On October 4, a new moon will appear in your professional sector. Usually a new moon in this part of your chart would bring an important career opportunity, but this new moon seems to bring up more questions than answers. The reason is, this new moon will be forced to fend off two rogue planets - Uranus in your home sector, and Pluto in Capricorn in your first house, ruling the very way you view yourself and your possibilities, as well as what type of partner would be right for you. Pluto's involvement indicates you may see yourself in a new and perhaps quite a powerful way.

You may get a new career opportunity in the ten days following that new moon - but there will be unexpected problems in regard to your present or future housing or needs of family that will pull on you too, so no choice will be straightforward. This new moon is a tough one, and no one will have all the answers - not immediately at least.

Your attention will force you to put all your concentration on your home situation at the full moon lunar eclipse October 18, perhaps to attend to news that came up at the same time you were investigating a career offer or promotion. Capricorns born in the first week of January will feel this influence the most. You may be tempted to flee town near the weekend of October 19-20, but leaving would not entirely bring stress relief, so save your pennies and opt for a soothing spa package in your own city instead.

You seem to be spending more money than usual lately, too, perhaps for an important purpose that you planned to do, such as to pay for college tuition or an important overseas trip. Happily, the high spending level you've seen since the end of August, and all through September, will drop off quickly once you get beyond October 15.

Immediately after the eclipse, Mercury will be retrograde from October 21 to November 10. This retrograde is coming at a tough time, as you seem to have career and home-related matters to settle. Still, you can't go against Mother Nature - when Mercury retrogrades, you have to pull back. By not rushing, you may find new and better options, so don't assume everything's a mess, and you are doomed. No! It is never wise to make big plans or commitments or buy expensive things (most certainly not electronics items and autos) while Mercury is retrograde. Your judgment is off - you'll see it's best to wait!

The happiest news is that Mars will enter fellow earth sign Virgo, a superb spot for you on October 15, to stay until December 7. Mars will coax you to travel far and wide, or to study at the university, for this influence is one that will open your mind to many new people and areas of life, and that stimulation will be delicious. If you have always wanted to work in the media, such as broadcasting or publishing, you will get your chance mid-month, so plot your course and send your inquiry on November 12.

Dates to Note for CAPRICORN

Most romantic dates, and days you can use for other things, too: October 6,7,10, 11, 14, 15, 19, 23, 25, 28, 29, and 30.

The first of the month starts off with turbulence, due to an altercation between the Sun and Pluto on October 1. You may be tempted to hit a gnat with a hammer, so before you respond, count to ten.

A home or property matter may require money to fix a sudden problem that arises, if so it will come on October 3. Your career appears to bring jarring news, too.

A difficult new moon October 4 sparks new developments in your career, but you may also have to contend with a pressing family and home matter as well.

You seem to be putting a lot of money on credit cards (something that has been going on last month, too), but your spending will calm down after October 15.

On October 18 a lunar eclipse in Aries may call attention to home matters that have come to culmination.

Mercury will retrograde from October 21 to November 10 in your house of travel. Double-check all details, and make sure you keep track of all belongings.

If you would like to do creative writing, put pen to paper on October 25 when the Sun and Neptune create a lyrical environment for self-expression.

This year Halloween, October 31, looks like fun, for Pluto in Capricorn will be friendly to Mars in Virgo, an ideal situation for you!
