10月 Monthly Horoscope for Taurus

This is an unusual month, full of twists and turns, where few things will go according to plan. It will be as if the universe will be testing all signs to see how flexible and adaptable we can be. A very tough first week of October will start to play out the minute you start the month.

On October 1 the Sun will be in hard angle to Pluto - you are likely to meet up with a VIP who is tough and who won't consider options that you think are reasonable and sensible. This person's "take no prisoners" attitude will make it clear that it's his way or the highway. This is no day to ask for a favor from anyone in authority, and you may even have problems with a prominent male at home.

Things are about to get even more tense by Thursday, October 3, when the Sun will oppose Uranus. Watch to see if a man who is either part of your family or who is involved with your home (landlord, broker, architect, decorator, contractor, roommate, and so forth, as a few examples) will attempt to pull the rug from under you. News of a reversal may come up, and for a tentative moment you may not have words to respond. That's okay. You can solve any problem if you keep your wits about you. This person's behavior seems to be out of character, but later, you may wonder, is it?

Your resourcefulness will keep on being tested. The new moon in Libra 12 degrees on October 4 will occur in your house of workaday projects. This time the moon will receive a direct opposition by Uranus, and Pluto will square off the moon. Both planets will jump this delicate moon at the same time, like members of a street gang in a dark alley. The effect for you is that something will likely go haywire on an assignment or in regard to a person you depend upon at your workplace, or at home, who says they are leaving. This person might be your regular babysitter or housekeeper of many years. Or, at work, it looks like one or more staff members you have come to depend on are leaving, causing gaping holes in certain departments. Things may be bubbling up in the background causing this puzzling situation at your firm, but you may not hear about exactly what it is until the full moon lunar eclipse in Aries 25 degrees, October 18.

By October 18, plus or minus four days, secrets will surface, and when they do you may be very surprised about what you hear. All eclipses are on a mission to reveal information and often have two acts, with even more data being explained and clarified weeks later. This eclipse seems to put you on the sidelines, as observer and consultant, but not as the main character of this play. However, if you have Aries, Libra, Cancer, or Capricorn rising or a major planet in one of those signs (something you would only know if you have your natal chart), you will feel things more directly. This eclipse will be speaking directly to those signs or planets in those signs with degrees of 25, plus or minus five degrees. You will soon find out, so don't stress if you don't know.

Alternatively, your vitality and overall health may be a focus, for both the sixth and twelfth houses lit up are also concerned with the measures you take to stay healthy both in terms of caring for your physical body and your mental condition. You may see you need to have a medical procedure or simply have some tests. If you do need to see a doctor, or to go into rehab, it's a fine time to do so. In astrology we know if we let something go, it only comes up for more urgent attention at the next cycle. You are always wise to take care of something sooner rather than later, assuming your doctor agrees.

Uranus and Pluto, each in different corners of the sky, will checkmate the new moon of October 4, so everyone, of every sign will likely feel somewhat blocked and frustrated. Pay attention to the questions and topics that come up at that new moon, for those topics will be echoed by Mars later, starting in December and running through July 2014. A new moon always sets up a long situation, one that you work on for six months to a year, but the actions you take at the time of the new moon (just after it appears) are very important, and can help you turn things completely around to your favor. Admittedly, this one will be a challenge. Know the difference between what you can change, and what you can't - concentrate on the areas you can control, namely, your own reaction to shifts.

Mars, until now, has been in Leo and sitting in your house of home since August 27, but will leave on October 15. Until mid-October, Mars will continue to help you improve your home, or to sell, buy, or lease a new home, something you may have been working on since early August at the new moon, August 6. You may have signed papers already, and are by now moving into your new space on October 1. Before you move in, know the rules of your landlord or community - you would be moving in on a tough week, starting with the Sun square Pluto, a time when you may be reminded of the rules once you innocently break them.

If you want to buy something expensive for your home, you'll have to hurry up and do it, as you are soon to lose your window of opportunity. Hopefully you already wrapped up many items on your to-do list last month. Thinking about it here, I would rather you do your research and choose and list all the items you need to buy, but wait until you get to late November or early December to actually buy them. Your aspects will be infinitely better then and you are more likely to enjoy your purchases.

Mercury will go retrograde in Scorpio from October 21 to November 10 in your house of partnership and marriage, but because Mercury rules contracts, one should not sign a contract or make any commitments (i.e., get married) when Mercury is out of phase. Mercury also rules the moving parts in machines, so it's never a time to buy any electronics, nor any expensive things, because your list of priorities and qualifiers for your purchase may be subject to change radically later. You are likely to be back to the store asking for a return and refund (if that is even possible).

Hold off on making major changes to your appearance, too. Some people come up close to the retrograde, say, buying things or signing things on October 20, the day prior to the retrograde, but that's a bad idea. You'd be acting too late. You will start to feel the slowdowns, mix ups, re-dos, and other frustrating conditions (like losing your keys) starting this month as early as October 1.

Your love life seems to be the brightest part of your life, or at the very least, has the greatest potential to bring you happiness. Mars will make an appearance in Virgo and your sector of true love for the first time in two years. Mars will continue to light this part of your chart from October 15 to December 7, sure to be a lyrical, fun time for you if you make the effort to circulate.

Mercury will retrograde in your commitment / marriage / established partner sector, so you may delay a decision about getting married, or a goal that you both had decided to work on, but perhaps the timing is not quite right. Keep in mind that "not now" does not necessarily mean "never." Keep smiling, dear Taurus.

Your very best day this month for love will be October 16 when your ruler, Venus, will receive a sparkling beam from Uranus. This would be a perfect day to plan to meet someone your friend has chosen for you - the chemistry would be really special. This same day will also bring you good news about money, so you'll be in a happy, upbeat mood.

Another romantic day, possibly to go to a party, or to enjoy a gorgeous dinner out, will be when the Sun and Neptune trade signals. Neptune, as the higher octave to Venus, may transport you to a new place, and have two hearts beating as one. Don't make a big commitment on this night (Mercury will be retrograde), but do take the time to simply enjoy one another.

Summary

Your duties at work are likely to take an unexpected turn in a new direction as a result of the new moon, October 4. As a fixed sign, you do not always welcome news about sudden shifts in the office, but perhaps with time you can find a way to ease into the changes. You may get a new type of assignment, be switched into a new department, or need to find replacements for those who report to you. If you are self-employed, you may suddenly be confronted by unexpected moves of competitors, or shifts in the marketplace that require you to respond quickly.

In the most extreme manifestation, your firm's management or board of directors may announce massive changes in personnel that may reverberate through the company. On a simpler scale, you may need to find a new nanny for your children, or a new gardener to do landscaping for your home.

The October 4 new moon is not an easy one, because Uranus, often called "the great awakener," will be acting in a rebellious, assertive way and challenge the new moon. This can make you tense, so plan not to have an overly packed schedule during early October. Taurus likes to think before acting, and although you won't have much time, if your schedule is not overly packed, you'll be in better shape to plot your course.

Because your sixth house is where all the action will take place, and this area also rules your health, keep yourself in good health. Do not take sports risks in the two weeks following the new moon of October 4. Foreign travel may not go smoothly this month, so if plans start to go haywire, grin, shrug your shoulders, and let things take a natural course. Everyone, of every sign, will be in the same boat.

A full moon lunar eclipse on October 18 will reveal what has been going on behind the scenes without your knowledge. This may be about the political maneuvers of someone at work, or a client who has been interviewing competitors in secret, with the hope to make a sudden departure. Once you know the story, you will be able to deal with events in an effective way. You may feel shaken by the news this eclipse brings, but keep in mind that the universe is sending you this news to protect you.

Alternatively, the October 18 full moon eclipse may bring you in contact with medical personnel and possibly places of confinement, like a hospital. A relative who may be ill needs to see your cheerful smile, or you may decide to have a procedure done soon for yourself.

This month you appear to be working on your home too, whether to make repairs, paint several rooms, institute renovations, design changes, or make other improvements, but you may encounter a number of delays and distractions. It will be hard to press forward with a difficult new moon October 4, a full moon eclipse (October 18), and Mercury about to go retrograde October 21 to November 10. You would be better off sitting tight. You can do research, but do not make any final proposals.

By holding back you won't lose any advantage but will gain one. You will start to feel Mercury's slowdown by October 10. Railing against delays will only use up energy, but you will soon find that nothing will be accomplished or resolved. Use the time to think about how to handle any obstacles - you will move forward quickly after November 10.

Love will be bright in the second half, once Mars enters Virgo and cosmic storms have rolled through in the first week. Mars will enter your love sector on October 15 and stay until December 7.

If you are attached, Mercury will retrograde in your relationship sector, so you may have to delay a plan or you may change your mind about one. Make sure you go the extra mile to make your communication clear, as misunderstandings tend to run riot when Mercury is out of phase - get the whole story.

Circle October 16 as a special day to hear good news about money AND to have an exciting love connection. You'll be in a happy-go-lucky mood, making it a luminous day to be set up by a friend to meet someone new.

Most romantic dates, and days you can use for other things too: October 2, 10, 14-16, 19, 20, 23, 25, 29, and 30.

Beginning with the new moon on October 4, you will find there may not be enough subordinates to finish a project in coming weeks. Have your database of potential recruits ready.

Mars will tour Virgo from October 15 until December 7 and will light your house of true love.

You may get good news about money on October 16 when your ruler, Venus, sends a glittering vibration to Uranus, planet of surprise.

The lunar eclipse on October 18 will bring to light information that was hidden from you until now. You may discover a competitor has been attempting to outmaneuver you politically at the office.

You may need to address your own physical or mental health this month, or you may be called on to help someone near. It's the right time to do so.
