10月 Monthly Horoscope for Gemini

October's first week will start out tense, so buckle up, clear your schedule, and see what happens. The month starts October 1 with Pluto in a challenging position to the Sun. This day may bring financial concerns, perhaps because you owe money, or because someone owes you and has not paid. A creative project - most likely a literary one - may need more funding or more time to get it done. Pluto in this position can produce a very pushy, dominant person who won't listen to any of your comments or suggestions for compromise - it's his way or no way. Pluto also refers to the government or large behemoth companies, so you may need to pay off taxes or other sums you owe, and that may set your nerves on edge on October 1, or within days that circle it.

Only two days later, October 3 will bring a harsher aspect, and bring completely unexpected, sudden developments, possibly in relation to a lover, or, less likely, a friend. The event that transpires may alternatively involve the welfare of one of your children you have now, or relate to an adoption or pregnancy you hope to have soon.

The Sun will receive a direct opposition from Uranus on this day, October 3, a classic aspect for sudden departures, breakups, separations, or situations that are unraveling and need a fix. If you hear reverse news that shocks you about a partner, but decide to stay with him/her anyway, it may be because you need to keep the peace until you quietly find a way out. Even so, you must take seriously what you learn and not turn away from it. Integrate what you learn into what you know about someone close to you, and decide what to do.

Hard aspects like this don't actually cause the unhappiness you may feel, but rather, reveal truths that we must take time to digest and consider seriously. It is the sudden realization of truth that makes us hurt temporarily, until we decide what we need to do. You may not have had all the information in the past because someone withheld it from you, or because the cause was latent, and so no one involved knew. Nevertheless, you appear to be jarred by something you hear on October 3, but if it is affecting you quite a bit, break the problem down into manageable little pieces so that you can tackle each one before going on to the next. If, on the other hand, you don't get jarring news on or very near October 3, it is because the universe had nothing to warn you about - you flew through that aspect easily.

Before you let down your guard, the hardest aspect is yet to come, namely, the new moon in Libra, 12 degrees, on October 4, full of fury and might, for this new moon will be under siege from both Pluto in Capricorn and Uranus in Aries. These are heavy-duty planets and when angry, we tend to feel their feet thumping and thundering above, on the floor of the heavens. This new moon will bring money into the conversation as an element to be addressed. It will also bring up meditations about something that you learned this week about your lover or a friend, or, alternatively, news that arises that makes you think about how to protect the welfare of one of your children. As said before, you may also, separately, need to make a decision about a creative project.

This new moon will set up a trend that will last for months, and that's what concerns me. All new moons set up circumstances that last for at least six months, if not an entire year, until the next new moon in Libra has time to refresh its energy next October. That's what all new moons do and why I always say it is so vital to plant seeds just after that new moon arrives, for doing so can turn that new moon's energies to your favor. This month may be different as you may only be able to take baby steps if anything should set you reeling.

Mars will soon come in to energize this romantic / child / pregnancy / creative area of your chart, ruled by Libra, for nearly eight months. You need to take the matter that arises now seriously, for it appears you may be dealing with it for weeks and possibly months, as long as through July 2014. Plant seeds to improve any condition that comes to your attention after October 4, because otherwise it will be like sticky flypaper - hard to shake off for months.

So to sum up the way this month seems to work is that you will first receive sudden news from either Pluto (October 1) or Uranus (October 3), or both. Then, you've barely recovered from what you are hearing, when the majestic new moon will show up much too quickly (October 4), carrying her clipboard and pen, and will ask, "Okay, now that you know the story, dear Gemini, what do you want to do about it? I need a blueprint and plan from you, and I need it now." It appears there will be no way to avoid answering the new moon, so you will have to come up with a response, even if you are not ready. It looks as though others will press on you to do so. Use your instinct, and don't overanalyze things - the answer will appear if you look into your heart.

If you were born on June 2, plus or minus four days, this new moon of 12 degrees Libra will speak directly to you. Yet this new moon will be friendly to your Sun, which makes a big difference.

If you were not born at that time of Gemini (early June), and you have a copy of your horoscope wheel, look to see if you have any planets in Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius, or (second tier) planets in Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius at plus or minus five degrees of 12 degrees. If you do, you will notice the moves of this new moon.

Keep in mind, however, that you do NOT feel these aspects if the new moon if cannot find any flaws to show you. These are testing aspects, for it seems the universe will be on a mission to find out how much a certain relationship means to you, or in the case of a creative project, how much you want to pour your heart into it, and finish it. If as you go through the early part of October none of these types of questions apply to you, you may fly through this phase with only a mild influence from this hard aspect. Difficult aspects help us do what we often cannot do for ourselves - detach from difficult situations - or help us realize how deeply we love a special someone or family member, or conversely, don't love that one person and need to leave.

By the lunar eclipse in Aries, October 18, plus or minus four days, your attention will focus on a friend or a lover, or a social event. It would not be a good idea to make a final decision about the future of a friend or lover, however, as Mars will be directly opposite Neptune, and you may not have all the facts. Or, if you do, you may not be seeing things clearly. Let things rest for now before you craft a response. If you go to a social event, you may find it very inspirational, even magical, as Neptune has the power to spin that kind of enchantment.

Mars will be in good angle to this eclipse, however, so before it comes, you will need to prepare for a short trip (under 500 miles) to attend the social event that is most likely to happen October 19 or 20. Whatever you do over that weekend seems to have "legs" so write all down on your calendar, as I will ask you to refer to those notes when the next eclipse in this same series comes up, April 15.

All the focus on your private life and social interactions will begin to wind down a week after the October 18 eclipse, but will start up again as Mars enters Libra in December, and very noticeably when you get to the next full moon eclipse, in Aries, April 15, 2014.

One note about eclipses: If you don't see any news this month, wait one month to the day later, November 18, plus or minus four days, for news. If you have a social event then, you may find that it has special significance for you and will point the way to an advancing future path. Only five percent of readers will have felt the October 18 eclipse earlier, but that may be you - check to see what you were doing, especially in regard to a social event September 18-19, plus or minus five days.

Mars will be in Leo during the first part of October, and may give you a chance to travel out of town, perhaps to enjoy Mother Nature at her most brilliant expression. October is ruled by Venus, as is May, so no wonder those months bring nature to her most creative. Mars will be in good angle to your Sun, so if you feel like you need to get out of town, by all means do.

When Mars moves through Virgo from October 16 to December 7, it will be time to focus on your apartment or house. You had a superb new moon, September 5, so you might have begun drawing up your list for changes or improvements you'd like to make to your space. This could range from big to small changes, from moving or renovating, to finding a new roommate, painting your space, clearing out clutter, or buying new furniture or just a few accessories.

If you like your home as it is, then you may focus on your parents. Try to find something to do with your home, as Mars will be in such a helpful position for you to see progress. Because Mars, the energy planet and the timekeeper of the zodiac, is rarely in this area of your chart - he comes by for six weeks for a visit every two years - the position of Mars shows where you will have solid, powerful help to move forward. Once Mars leaves this house in December, Mars won't be back until November 12, 2015. You will now have six weeks to get going, starting October 15. Think of something you hope to do!

Mercury, your ruler, will go retrograde from October 21 to November 10, another element this month that will make it a bit harder to navigate. You must not sign any contracts while Mercury is out of phase, nor make a verbal agreement (considered the same as signing your name). Although you may be anxious to get your home settled, it is a bad time to buy furniture, and a very bad time to acquire any electronics. This time Mercury will retrograde in your workaday sector (sixth house), so projects will hit snags and parts will need to be redone. If you do want to hire contractors, or sign a new lease, you must do so in the middle of October, from October 9 to 16, or better, on October 29 to 31.

In terms of love, your chart is a true question mark. One thing is certain - you will likely see whether your relationship is strong or not by the time the month is out. You will have help. Venus will glide through Sagittarius and your sector of committed relationships. Venus is charming - if you have a tiff with your alter ego and it is not serious, Venus will help keep things light.

October 16 will be your best day, when Venus in Sagittarius and Uranus in Aries will cook up a surprisingly fine romantic evening. You may go to a party, or your friend may make a fateful introduction (try to make that happen!)

On Halloween, the moon will be in fellow air sign Libra, making for an ideal night to party for a Gemini. Furthermore, Mars and Pluto will be perfectly angled, so it may be you who gives the bash. Good idea! Invite everyone to your place, and start making your costume early in the month. It's a great night for you to be out.

Summary

A friendship or love relationship will be much of your focus, but when it comes to one individual in particular, emotions may run high. You may hear troubling, unexpected news about a friend or lover who is in crisis and who needs your assistance. Or, you may feel this month's energies in another way and be distraught because someone close, in love or friendship, has not been entirely forthcoming, or may have even betrayed you in some way. Money may also surface as a bone of contention.

Because the third house of communication is also being drawn into the aspects at the moment by the Sun (October 3), a text, social network post, or telephone call may set off discussions - or a dispute. At the same time, you may also be concerned about the welfare of a child.

The October 4 new moon will be to blame for this jarring state of affairs, and with Uranus directly opposed to this new moon, nearly everyone, of every sign, will feel somewhat raw and out of sorts, for all troublesome news will likely come as entirely unexpected.

Like all new moons do, the new moon of October 4, will package the energy swirling about in the air at the time and focus it powerfully, like a spotlight, so that you can see it and practically touch it. A new moon opens a door to a new direction, and in your case, as we have been discussing, for Gemini, the news will involve a love relationship, a friend, or a situation going on in one of your children's lives. If you are creative, the same house that the new moon will focus its attention on - your fifth house - also rules your artistic expressions, so a creative project may need to be swiftly changed, perhaps due to sudden shifts in the marketplace, or when you see inaccuracies, as two examples out of many possibilities.

The first week of October is undoubtedly difficult, however, so this new moon will be "tainted" by the wild and wooly aspects of Pluto and Uranus. That means the new moon will show you Pluto's forcefulness and Uranus' tendency to strike in places we are not looking. There is a reason Uranus, planet of chaos, rebellion, and unpredictable events, is called "the great awakener" - we can never quite predict where Uranus will strike, but this planet surely knows how to get us to sit up and pay attention. The moon rules your second house of earned income (always), so you will likely see the handwriting on the wall - you'll need to find the funds to either improve a situation or break free from it.

By the full moon lunar eclipse, October 18, you will see this social situation reach a peak, but for now, hold off making a final decision. You also may be making an appearance at an important social event, but with all that happened in early October, your involvement may be six parts obligation and one part fun.

By this lunar eclipse, you will be on the eve of Mercury retrograde, October 21 to November 10, suggesting conditions around you will be in flux. Also, Mars will be make a direct opposition to Neptune on October 19, so because Neptune obscures information and Mars will make you eager to act, you have a potential situation that you will be tempted to rush to fix, without all the facts. Your aim should be to find out what is NOT being said to you. This month, omitted information may be the most revealing information of all. Let the dust settle, and wait to find out what will come out at the new moon solar eclipse, November 3.

Mars will enter your home sector on October 15, to stay until December 7, just in time to make it holiday-ready by year's end. If you are not moving or renovating, painting, or repairing, you may want to host a Halloween party at home on October 31 - all the conditions will be right for a very fun party.

Dates to Note for GEMINI

Most romantic dates, and days you can use for other things, too: October 9, 12, 13, 16-18, 22, 26, 27, and 31. Realize your love life is a throw of the dice this month, however - see what the new moon October 4 brings.

A troublesome new moon on October 4 could disrupt a newly formed romance. Proceed slowly with any budding relationship and protect the interests of a child in weeks to come.

Earlier, October 3 will be a particularly tough day for love and relationships.

Creative projects may go haywire in October's first week.

Mars will tour Leo from October 1 to 14, and stimulate your longing to see travel and see nature.

You will be able to accomplish a great deal on a home-related matter from October 15 to December 7.

If you are attached, the friendly alignment between Venus and Uranus could bring a lively social event on October 16. If single, this same day could bring exciting romance.

A lunar eclipse on October 18 will bring about an important social gathering.

Mercury will be retrograde October 21 to November 10 and it will create confusion in communication. You may have to redo parts of a project. Everything will take longer than it should.

Contribute a creative idea to a VIP in mid-month; it may elevate your career status.

Consider giving a Halloween party at home on October 31 when Mars sends a good signal to Pluto.
