10月 Monthly Horoscope for Leo
You may have already heard the rumors - October is not due to be an easy month in any which way. I am chuckling here, as many of my readers follow my Twitter feed (@Astrologyzone) and have been seeing my warnings about finishing up as much as possible in September, because October will be something of a messy month. Planets will be clanging and banging, and together, finding ways to create obstacles, twists, and turns. The main focus of these planets' rage will be at the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn), so it will be up to each of us to help those cardinal signs that need help. You will be on the sidelines, but that doesn't mean you will be immune to all that is going on. None of us will be immune!
So much of your life will focus on travel, learning, legal questions, matters pertaining to media (broadcasting or publishing), or international relationships. One of these areas are likely to light up for you in a big way at some point in October. Let's look at the entire month, and as I do, let's start from the top. Keep in mind that you are ruled by the Sun, so any time I mention the Sun, that aspect has your name on it, so you may want to take special attention.
On October 1, the Sun will have a duel with Pluto, causing tension. You may have a difference of opinion with a powerful authority figure - boss or client - or it may be a cheeky co-worker who gets you going. No matter what role this person happens to play in your life, he or she will have his or her own vision of how something should be done and will not entertain any of your suggestions. You will feel intense pressure to conform, even if you know like you know your name that the way being dictated to you would be all wrong. Do your best to state your case.
Two days later, October 3, the situation will get tougher. The Sun will receive a 180-degree opposition from Uranus, planet of completely unexpected developments, so what happens comes out of the blue. This is a testing aspect, concerning your involvement in a very close romantic or business relationship. Aspects like this test the strength of an alliance, but if the universe detects weakness, betrayal, or overall lack of character, it will suddenly pull apart two people in a moment's notice. This is a classic aspect of breakups and separations, but if Uranus finds nothing to warn you about, you may sail through this aspect somewhat easily. Remember, the Sun is involved, so brace for this, and expect the unexpected, just in case. Keep your health strong, as this is an aspect that can make you feel broadsided, even if you know something is coming.
The universe keeps ratcheting up the ante. On the new moon, October 4, this time it will be the new moon's turn to receive a harsh square from Pluto, and opposition from Uranus, making it a monstrous new moon. Things will come out of the shadows and into the light, and you will have much more information than you did before you entered the month, but not all of it will likely be easy to see. The new moon is falling in a contractual sector (third house), so you may be ready to sign papers. Don't sign them, however, for the amount of static in the air right now will be enormous and you may not know precisely what you are signing. With Uranus opposed to the Sun (October 3), this deal is not likely to be a good one for you. You would be inserting all the difficult aspects of this week into the birth of this relationship or deal if you sign it in the first week. Actually, the whole month is difficult for signing papers. (Stay with me.)
Travel taken in October is likely to be a nightmare too for you, too, so if you can, reschedule your trip to the second half of November. People will be quick to anger, so even if you have a hard time with this month's aspects (you seem to be mainly on the sidelines, not the main actor in this month's play), you can't be sure that the person you are seeing on your trip will be calm, cool, and collected. Chances are, she or he will not be calm at all. Tensions will not find an easy outlet, so they will build up, for everyone.
In a month that seems to have everything, next we have a full moon lunar eclipse, October 18, in your house of foreign people and places. This sector also rules goals to achieve a degree in a university or college setting, immigration matters (visa, green card, passport), and publishing / broadcasting projects. If you take on an assignment or want to cut a deal overseas, make sure you know all the international rules involved, and that you are very clear about how much you will be paid. Mars will oppose Neptune, suggesting you may NOT know all the details and that you may be fuzzy on some of the clauses. Fortunately, Mars will be widely friendly to this eclipse and help you find ways to take action, but you would have to see a lawyer.
Lunar eclipses end things, so you may be finishing up a big international project, or handing in an important magazine story. You will be somewhat concerned about money, but don't assume this is the end of the road and that you can't find other sources as generous as the one you've had. Of course you can! Just put on your thinking cap and start thinking. You CAN find a new pipeline of money, but you must jump on this immediately and start looking. Once you get to December, year-end budgets start to run out. The time to look is now and the time to seal your agreement is mid-November.
Romantically, and in other ways, the front part of the month, from October 1 to 15, Mars will still be in Leo, a holdover from September. This is a wonderful privilege and just about everyone wants Mars in their sign! Mars will give you energy and drive, with a high level of courage and determination. When you speak, people will pay attention, and further, favor your ideas and approve them and rally the troops to support them. (Yes, having Mars in your sign is like falling in a parallel universe where the Sun shines nearly every day.) Indeed, it's great to have Mars in your sign. You'll be more attractive socially - you'll have an aura of charm, charisma, and confidence that others will sense, and that will make them attracted to you. Mars will leave October 15, but before that, make the most of his visit.
On top of this, Venus will tour fellow fire sign Sagittarius, October 7 until November 5. This is the best place for you to host Venus, for this planet of love will tour your fifth house of true love for a month. Combine that with Mars in the first two weeks, and it's easy to see, the week of October 9 to 18 will be your best for socializing.
Within that period, your best, gold-star day will be October 16, when Venus in Sagittarius will send a perfect, golden beam to Uranus in fire sign Aries. What a surprising, happy day for love for you! If your birthday falls on August 2, your birthday degrees will create a golden triangle - you must promise me to go out that night! I am fainting as I do the calculations for you, dear Leo.
If you were not born August 2, but you do have a copy of your natal chart, check to see if you have any fire sign natal planets (Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius) at 10 degrees or very, very close to that - that planet will also complete the golden triangle for you.
From October 15 to November 7, Mars will leave Leo and begin to tour Virgo, and you will enter a high spending period for six weeks. You may be holiday shopping then, or you may need to pay a previously made obligation, such as for your college tuition, or send a hefty deposit for your child's summer camp. If you don't have any big checks to write, then you may want to slow down spending for a few weeks, just so you can see the lay of the land.
You shouldn't spend much this month anyway, as Mercury will be retrograde in your sector of home and family. Whenever Mercury is retrograde, it's not a time to buy expensive things, with electronics and appliances the biggest no-nos. Any machines with moving parts should not be purchased, as Mercury rules those parts and one will likely be damaged. It's not a time to sign a contract or close on a house. Wait until Mercury is done being retrograde, so the earliest I will advise you to sign is November 12. Actually, I feel next month's new moon solar eclipse, November 3, will help you solve a long-term residence or family dilemma. During Mercury retrograde, we tend to lose things, so be sure to count your possessions before you leave to be sure you have everything with you. Put your business cards on the bottom of your computer and iPad, and also put it in your eyeglass case.
It is possible, however, that Mercury retrograde will encourage you to paint, renovate, or clean and reorganize closets, and with lots of packing up of things you no longer need for charity. Mercury retrograde often helps us find long lost items, so you may find treasures you completely forgot about in your closets, and would like to use those treasures now.
One day, October 31, you may find a terrific day to have a meeting with a client you know (not someone new) - the day is sure to bring you the kind of VIP favor you need to press forward on a financial deal. While I don't want you to conclude it yet, you will be on your way to finding accord. Start bringing in legal - you'll need the paperwork to be ready November 12.
Finally, October 31 is Halloween, and with the moon in Libra, you should have fun if you go with a friend or your significant other. Mars and Pluto will be in elegant sync, so I can't think of a better aspect for this creative holiday. Go out, dear Leo!
SummaryYou seem busy as October opens, but beware - the new moon will be in a feisty, even angry mood, and unlike most new moons, will create more obstacles than progress. The new moon may trigger contract negotiations, but talks are likely to hit snags. Don't try to rush things to closure. Delays will benefit you. Mercury will be getting ready to retrograde on October 21 until November 10, so you will feel the impending slowdown much earlier, starting near October 1. Under this difficult new moon, it is imperative that you proceed slowly, at least until Mercury has regulated its orbit in mid-November.
In the meantime, Mars, the energizer, is back in Leo after a two-year absence. Mars is making you feel that you need to get going, but with all the complications evident in October, you would be wise to slow down, reflect on the details of your plans, and go through a check list of your assumptions to see if they hold up in the light of day. You can schedule actions in the first week of October, but as said, nothing will be straightforward in this wild and wooly month. Stay observant, and don't count your chickens before they hatch. There will be so many twists and turns this month that most people will want to simply stay home and hide under the covers.
Travel appears to be on your agenda, perhaps to do business, see family, or view real estate. If you have not planned to take a trip, you might have increased and frequent interaction with people abroad. In that case, you may be involved with import-export of goods, services, or information, or are planning to study overseas. This is a month that requires everyone remain flexible, continue to talk to executives, but not push for answers. If you are anxious to get a green card, visa, or passport, apply at the dawn of October, but again, you must be patient.
In a month that will be packed with aspects, we have a full moon lunar eclipse in Aries, October 18, suggesting that a foreign alliance you have enjoyed over some time may now have run its course and will soon end. You will deal with this well enough, but there may be a financial consideration to address. If you lose a source of income, or lose a scholarship (this same area of your chart that rules academia), you may at first assume you don't have any options to find new sources to replace that lost income - you will, so don't lose heart. The Sun, your ruler, and the eclipse will be in supportive angle to Neptune, a planet that has some sway over your finances, so keep plugging. Seek a financial planner's advice, and be optimistic about what you might uncover.
Romantically, you have one special day - October 16. Venus, the love planet, will be in perfect angle to Uranus, the planet that brings surprise. Make a point to go out on this glorious evening. Know, too, that the moon will enter fire sign Aries later that day, making it all around a wonderful evening for fun and love.
The other day to circle on your calendar as a "must" for a fun, romantic night out will be October 31, Halloween. It seems friends want you to come to a party, as it's no fun without you. Start making your costume early, dear Leo - you need to show the world how Halloween is done right, Leo-style!
Dates to Note for LEO
Most romantic dates, and days you can use for other things, too: October 8, 9, 12-13, 16, 17, 18, 22, 25-27, and 31.
The first three days of the month bring challenge to your Sun from Pluto and Uranus. These are jarring days, so lie low.
A new moon on October 4 spawns unsteady negotiations that may keep you working on them throughout the month. Travel in October may prove difficult.
Mars will be in Leo from October 1 to 14, suggesting you will have presence and charisma.
Venus will tour Sagittarius on October 7 to November 4. Venus will be in your house of true love, so your social life may perk up.
Watch October 16 in particular as a wonderful, spontaneous date night.
Spending will increase October 15 to December 7. However do not buy electronic or expensive items when Mercury in retrograde, October 21 to November 10.
The lunar eclipse on October 18 may bring news about travel, international relationships, the media, academia, or legal matters. At eclipse time, observe but do not initiate.
On October 25 you may be able to sell a creative idea, for the Sun will be perfect angle to Neptune.
You may hear of a lucrative work project that will start up on October 31.
