Leo Horoscope for December 2013By Susan Miller
This is a month divided in two parts, with the very best part coming prior to December 17. Keep that in mind all month, and make all your most important steps and initiations early on, for those actions will bring you precisely the right result. Let's start at the top and you will see December brings lots of opportunity.
The new moon of December 2 in Sagittarius (11 degrees) seems to have been dreamed up by a caring universe just for you. It will brighten your area of love, fun, and happiness, just in time for the holidays. You only get a new moon in this part of your chart once a year, and this one will have all your interests in mind. If you are single and hoping to find love, here is your chance to meet a variety of new people, and among them may be one that stands out who you would like to know better. This new moon is playful and will bring you many opportunities to socialize at all the right A-list events.
If you are married or seriously attached, this new moon, December 2, will see that you enjoy December too, for you can count on more attention from your partner. This month may bring up an important discussion about having a baby or adopting one. If you already have all the children you would like to have, you may be drawing up a plan to specially care for one, such as to get that child special lessons or to plan for camp for next summer. Whatever you do, it seems to surely delight your child.
If you have no children (nor want any), you may be planning a distant vacation quite spontaneously with your one-and-only, and early December would be a great time to pack and go.
Single or attached, you need more relaxed time, as your life has been consumed with matters involving housing, domestic matters, family, and career concerns lately. You could use a breather, and happily, this lively social trend will come just in time for the holidays. If you get invitations to holiday parties, rearrange your schedule so that you can go. Getting out will be so very good for you!
Many Leos are highly creative, and many work in entertainment, as actors, agents, managers, designers, musicians, choreography, music experts, or in stage lighting, costume design, makeup, and other such areas. Leos love working in not only the theatre and fine arts, but in art direction or as teachers (and teach in very original ways).
This same new moon, December 2, will spark your creativity. The first week of December will be your strongest and most productive, so make your presentations then. The following week will still have some of this precious energy left, so you can keep making appointments. I will say this: all new moons are strongest the moment they appear, and then gradually decline in power with each passing day. This is why you need to schedule your actions quickly. If you have a creative idea that you'd like to present to higher ups for funding, do so early in the month, when the new moon will see to it that you are most likely to get approvals.

If you were born on August 3, plus or minus five days, you will benefit the most from this lyrical new moon in the realm of love, romance, and children, and for creativity. If you have Leo rising at 11 degrees (or within four degrees of that degree) or have a natal planet in Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius at that degree, that planet will be lit up and you will benefit too.
Natal planets in Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius that are near 11 degrees are next in line to feel this positive energy - allow the same tolerance, plus or minus five degrees.
A gorgeous social event is likely to dot your calendar in the days surrounding the full moon, December 17, specifically sometime between December 14 to 21. I feel your magical evening is most likely to happen over the weekend of December 14-15. This full moon will receive a silvery beam from Neptune, making this event a romantic dream in a beautiful setting.
If your birthday falls on August 17, plus or minus five days, if you have Leo rising 25 degrees, or a planet at that degree (within a plus or minus five degrees) in Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius, or Gemini, Libra or Aquarius, you will benefit too. Something wonderful seems to be coming up!
Your home living situation has concerned you for as long as a year, but the beautiful cooperation between Jupiter (luck) and Saturn (stability) December 12 may help you find a solution. These two planets will collaborate one more time, in May 24, 2014, before they go their separate ways.
Help from these two planets should be great news, and should bring a new option for you to consider. It seems you can stabilize home and family questions by a sudden breakthrough, and that's great news, for this question has remained stubbornly difficult to solve. You may be able to find a long-term answer to housing and family questions near December 12, and these are questions that stopped you in your tracks in earlier days.
Now let's talk about Mars, which will move this month to Libra, a compatible place for you, on December 7, and light your house of travel, communication, and contracts. Mars typically stays in a sign for six weeks, but this time, Mars will remain in Libra for nearly eight months, until July 25, 2014. This tells me you may be on the road quite a bit in coming months, and knowing this, you may want to get your car tuned up or look into the purchase of a new one. You won't be driving far, but you will likely go to cities not far from your home base.
You may also be involved with social media, or an advertising or publicity campaign for your business, or working on a complex contract that will take weeks or even months to sort out. Alternatively, you may be working hard at writing a book or screenplay, or editing a complex manuscript, and all these activities would be right for you.
Once we get to December 21, however, things will start to sputter, for an entire string of days will begin to create havoc.
Venus will go retrograde from December 21 to January 31, and when Venus goes out of phase, she withholds her greatest powers of beauty, fun, and love. This is just when the holidays are due, so the timing of this is not great, for Venus will defer to the other planets, and work appears to be on the agenda. Alas, December 21 we will go into a "no frills" period where duty dominates, and fun takes a back seat to all we must do.
With Venus, the planet of good looks, not helping us, it would be a very bad time to schedule plastic surgery or to make any sweeping changes to your hair or appearance. When Venus sleeps, we must wait. You can go for trims and have regular grooming, of course, but make no big decisions, such as to change your hair from long to short, or to go from brunette to blonde. My male readers, you are included in this advice - no changes for now.
Venus also has dominion over profits and funding (along with Jupiter and Pluto), so with Venus retrograde in Capricorn, you may have to be patient while certain approvals won't come until early February. Don't press against this schedule, for you will benefit by waiting.
However, Mercury is due to go retrograde on February 7 to 28, so you'll have to be ready to pounce on projects that are pending, awaiting the green light by VIPs in the first six days of February. Of course, if you shepherd those proposals through the approval process in early December, well in advance of December 21, you will be all set.
The rest of December is due to bring in heavy cloud cover. On December 24-25, Mars will oppose Uranus, which is a very hot, difficult aspect. Both planets will oppose one another from travel sectors, so I suggest you plan NOT to travel too close to the holidays. Check weather reports, and heed the advice of authorities. I feel you should leave well in advance of this very difficult aspect, due December 24 and likely to stay through Christmas Day.
Mars, the warrior, in opposition to Uranus, the planet of completely unexpected events, can have a physical or emotional manifestation. In terms of the physical side of this, I suggest you not drive in icy, snowy weather but opt for the train instead. Do not imbibe alcohol if you do drive - this year you must follow driving rules. Don't leave late at night. You may have had a cup of coffee before heading out, but the guy next to you on the road might never pass a breathalyzer test.
If this is to have an emotional manifestation instead, you may find your sister, brother, or cousin to be unexpectedly difficult to get along with. If a disagreement does arise, it would come out of left field, and you would not see it coming. Be diplomatic and refuse to be drawn into an altercation.
Alternatively, if not a sibling or cousin, you need to watch in-laws (ruled by the ninth house), aunts, uncles, and grandchildren. You need not have an argument with your relative for this aspect to manifest - you may be concerned about the welfare of that person. Stay loose, just in case you are needed to help.
The following week, December 29 to December 31, brings more difficult planetary activity. Your toughest day may be December 30, when your ruling star, the Sun, will be at odds with Uranus, and Mars will be in very hard angle to Pluto. People seem to be exhausted, surprised at news, and not able to settle down. On December 29 Mercury (news) will be challenged by Uranus (surprise), so the news will not be what you hope to hear.
Travel will be difficult on all these days, but especially December 30. On New Year's Eve, Mercury (travel) will receive taunts by Pluto, adding to your frustration. You may need rest, but it seems the office is on the phone with you too, so you may have to go in to fix a project that has had its wheels fly off. The new moon of January 1 will be cranky too, and bring a pile up of planets in your work sector, suggesting it'll be time to go back to work, soon, as projects will require you go quickly.
As you see, with such difficult travel aspects, even to very close cities, you'd do well to stay put and arrange a small, private celebration with just a few friends at your place, or in a glittering restaurant you've always wanted to try. It may be the smartest decision you made all month.
Summary
December is neatly cut in half, with the best days arriving quickly, in the first two weeks - you will have fun, while the second half will require skillful handling. If you can hide under the bed in the second half, you'd probably be all the better for it, but alas, few of us can do that, and turbulent aspects have a way of finding each of us, even if we are hiding. Having a good sense of humor will go a long way to getting through the second half.
Happily, the month starts off with a new moon in Sagittarius, lighting your fifth house of romance and fun. You've not had a new moon here throughout 2013, so this should certainly bring at least one invitation to a fabulous party, and probably many more. You will have a good chance of meeting someone new, so look your best and circulate.
By the full moon December 17 in Gemini (11 degrees), strong for a plus or minus four days, you will likely have a big party or other social event to look forward to doing. With Neptune beaming his charms, this evening may be one of your favorites this year. It will be gorgeous in every way, from the holiday decorations, candles, and beautiful food, and filled with in-the-know, fashionably dressed guests who will bubble up fascinating conversations.
Another big event is happening this month with the move of Mars into Libra. You'll be glad to see Mars leave Virgo and your second sector December 7, for in Virgo, Mars had forced up your expenses. After that date, you will be in a better position to catch up financially and control your outgo. Now Mars will have you on the road, and it appears the travel taken this month won't be the end of it. Instead, it will be just the beginning of months of being on the road. Consider buying a new set of luggage if you feel yours is not up to so much travel, and have your car tuned up too. Mars may also deliver a major writing assignment that will require lots of research - plan to finish it by July 25, 2014.
One day that deserves a gold star will be December 12, when Jupiter and Saturn will collaborate - you may be able to find a breakthrough to solve a home or family-related concern. This has been a long-term situation that has been sticky to solve, but this could bring new options that may add a feeling of stable security.
After December 21, things will begin to go haywire. Venus will go retrograde, December 21 to January 31, making for a less carefree atmosphere. When Venus sleeps, it's not the time for plastic surgery or for acquiring luxury goods, and certainly not for shopping for a diamond ring. Shop for those types of expenditures prior to December 17. At the same time, your career will not progress as you'd like, but be patient - by May 2014 you will see a noticeable uptick.
With Mars opposed to Uranus, and the Sun and Mercury in hard angle to Uranus, you will find travel difficult, possibly treacherous from December 24 to January 1, so check to find out if deteriorating weather conditions prevail.
The outlook for everyone on New Year's Eve is emotionally draining, so avoid crowds, and keep plans small, fun, and nearly effortless. Ring in the New Year by watching snow fall from the comfort of your living room, or take a very short drive to small, cozy inn. This year, dear Leo, your motto, "Go big or go home" will not work, as you'll soon see that indeed, small can be beautiful.

Most romantic dates, and days you can use for other things too: December 2, 3, 6, 7, 11, 15, 16, 20, 21, and 22.
The new moon in your house of love, December 2 plus two weeks, will make a big difference in your love life. Circulate a lot between December 2 and 12. Uranus will bring surprise meetings, possibly with someone who fascinates you.
On December 3 Mercury will be in agreement with Mars, a great day to speak with friends and make plans.
A big new trend will begin on December 7 when Mars will go into Libra until July 25, 2014. During this phase you will travel to nearby cities much more often.
Sudden good news should arrive on December 10 when Mercury will receive a solid vibration from Uranus.
On December 12, when Jupiter receives a comforting ray from Saturn, you may do something home related - buy a house, sell one, hire a contractor, buy furniture ? you decide.
Your holiday social life will kick into high gear on December 17 when the new moon appears in your people / friendship / events sector.
Also on December 17, Uranus will go direct after having been retrograde since July 17 - overseas work or interests will perk up, legal matters will speed forward, and assignments in the media will move forward.
On December 21, Venus will go retrograde from December 21 to January 31, 2014 - make no big, radical changes to your appearance. Delay plastic surgery.
Unfortunately, on December 24-25 Mars be at odds with Uranus, creating an emotionally and possibly physically explosive atmosphere.
The tension continues on December 29 when Uranus will be at odds with Mercury. Do not travel and watch what you say.
Things won't improve on December 30. The Sun will square Uranus and Mars will be at odds with Pluto - that's a lot of problems, and your ruler is the Sun. Watch health, and try not to travel.
On December 31 Mercury will conjunct Pluto and both will be at odds with Mars. Harsh words will hurt. It's a touchy day, so celebrate the New Year quietly.
