Pisces Horoscope for December 2013By Susan Miller
This month may bring big, exciting news about your career, in the best possible sense, and when news begins to come, things will happen fast. The reason for my joyful outlook for your professional life is due to the super-friendly new moon, December 2, in Sagittarius (11 degrees).
This new moon will light your tenth house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame, elevating your profile in your industry (and possibly the world). That new moon will instantly receive a lovely beam from Uranus at the same time, from your solar second house of earned income. This tells me that your growing stature in your industry is about to translate into quite a bit of money for you, and when news arrives, it will arrive out of the blue, when you least expect it to come. It may come from an unusual source too, possibly from overseas. This beam from Uranus sets up a direct link between your reputation and career status to the compensation you can expect to receive. This is a big moment!
All new moons set up a window for ten days, with the brightest, most energetic energy happening after the new moon arrives. After that, the new moon gradually loses its power as days pass. A new moon will be completely spent after ten days, at which time the full moon will take over. All this is why you must act quickly on career goals if you are to take best advantage of the new moon's strong energy.
Uranus has been retrograde since July 17, so you may have found it hard to get ahead financially, but you will find the process easier now that Uranus turns direct and gets stronger. If it seems that no matter where you went, everyone seems to be offering you low fees or skimpy salary offers, all that should change once you get beyond December 17. Uranus won't go retrograde again until July 21, 2014, so you have an open road ahead, completely unobstructed.
Note: Big outer planets like Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto that spin on the outer rim of our solar system retrograde for four to five months at a time. In the case of Uranus, the retrograde is always approximately five months. Now that Uranus is strong again, he can help you find ways to make more money.
In another part of your chart, you have Venus in Capricorn, lighting your house of friendship, a trend that started November 5 and that will continue a very long time, until March 5, 2014. Venus rarely stays in one sign more than approximately three weeks, so this is news. While Venus is in Capricorn, you will be invited to more events and meet many more people. The house where Venus, the planet of beauty and love, is found is called the house of hopes and wishes, so you will be in a light, joyous mood.
The reason Venus will spend such a long time in Capricorn is that Venus will go retrograde from December 21 to January 31. Many couples have their engagement at Christmas or New Year's Eve, but I would suggest you do so sooner, much in advance of the December 21 date when Venus turns in for a nap. When any planet retrogrades, it withholds its finest powers.
Mars is doing something highly unusual after December 7 when he moves out of Virgo and into Libra. Mars will move into Libra and fill your eighth house of other people's money. This is the house that rules investments, commissions, royalties, licensing fees, scholarships, and university financial aid. It rules perks and benefits your company might give you, court settlements, division of property in a divorce, mortgage and refinancing, child support, and other such funding. The eighth house also governs insurance company payouts. This area of your chart will be lit up for eight months, until July 24, so much of your attention will be drawn to these kind of finances.
It appears you will need to spend a large sum of money at some point during this phase, possibly because you are having a lifestyle change. You may be getting married, or you may be having a baby. Or, you may be going back for an advanced college degree or starting your own business. In any kind of instance like this, you would need money and spend it to make your venture lift off. Alternatively, it may be that a family member, such as your child or your parent, will be in need, and you will have to send large check(s) to help.
As you see, this month, money comes in, and money goes out, but you seem to keep ahead of the game, with money left over for you to save or spend. Mars in the eighth house may indicate you are in the process of sorting out funds, such as what happens in a divorce, or when you are named the executor of an estate in an inheritance.
Mars can bring conflict, so if you are in a divorce, or are disagreeing over the amount of child support, the disagreement may become elevated with new intensity, so try to find a way out of the dispute in early December when things are likely to be calm. Also as part of this, you may want to get your credit report, to see that everything is fine and accurate, and that you have not been a victim of identity theft. That can happen with so much emphasis on the eighth house. There are monitoring bureaus you can join that can alert you if anything untoward is going on, and you might want to look into them.
Sometimes people opt for surgery during Mars in the eighth house, a good time to do so. Keep in mind that you will have Mars in this house a vast amount of time (until July 25). Mars will go retrograde, however, from March 1 to May 19. Mars rules the sharp instruments of a surgeon, and when Mars is retrograde, it's not quite as favorable to operate.
You do have a good time now, but Mercury will be retrograde from February 7 to 28, and June 7 to July 1, 2014, so during those times, it would not an ideal time to schedule non-essential surgery. All emergency surgery is necessary, and having a C-section to have a baby is always a happy event (and VERY essential!)
Have any operation that your doctor says should not be delayed. When I say "delay surgery during the Mars retrograde," I am referring to surgery that can be done at any time, never urgent surgery. If you don't have health insurance, with Mars in the eighth house for such a long time, you may want to get insurance, just in case you need it. You probably won't need it, but as an astrologer, I look at probability bars that rise and fall - these probability bars are rising temporarily for Pisces from now through July 2014. I admit that this areas rules dental work as well, which often is not covered by many insurance policies. Fortunately, you will likely do well financially from now on, and that has to be comforting to know.
Plastic surgery comes under Venus, the planet of beauty and good looks, which is why should not have a non-urgent facial plastic surgery or procedure from December 21 to January 31. For that, schedule it before you get to December 21, and leave as much space as possible between the day you schedule your plastic surgery and December 21. In other words, the earlier you schedule what you need to do this month, the better. You probably don't need plastic surgery, but it is your decision, and if you do this, I want you to have a very supportive Venus behind you.
Let's look at other things happening this month.
December 12 will be a lovely day, deserving of many gold stars, for it represents one of the great days of 2013. I love this day, for both love and business. In matters of the heart, you can promise your love to your sweetheart and look forward to a long future. If you are attached, you may be ready to welcome a darling baby to your family, and the decision would likely bring you joy. Jupiter will receive a very stabilizing beam from Saturn, the planet of long term planning. Any promise or plan you make on December 12 will likely be in place a long time, and if for business, is likely to deliver profits for many years.
In a business sense, there will be several areas of gain. Jupiter, in Cancer, in your house of creativity, will reach out to Saturn, now in your house of publishing, broadcasting, academia, foreign markets, import-export of goods, services, and information. Something about what you are doing at this time will be very good for you, so take ideas that others bring you - or that you generate - seriously, especially if those ideas involve the areas I have listed here. Your own creativity should be very strong now, and your vision will be very far reaching.
This aspect, Jupiter in heavenly angle to Saturn, first occurred July 17, 2013, is occurring now, and will occur one more time again on May 24, 2014. When a planet makes three passes, like this one, you have the chance to see an exciting transformation take place. In this case, you can transport to a place of greater security, where your creative expression will be lauded by the powers at the top, and where the circle of love will become ever wider.
If you were born on March 8, plus or minus two days, you will feel this collaboration between Jupiter and Saturn aspect very directly. The same is true if you have Pisces rising at 18 degrees, or have a natal planet in Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio within five degrees of 18 degrees in either direction. If you have a natal planet at Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn at 18 degrees, you too will benefit.
Now let's turn to your home and family, the topic of the full moon in Gemini (25 degrees) on December 17. It seems a home or family matter is coming to culmination, in a happy, friendly way. You may hear good news involving your present house or apartment, or one you hope to move into soon. Or, you may get delivery of beautiful new furniture you had ordered earlier. It is also possible that the news may involve friends or family as guests who are coming to see you and possibly stay with you a few days.
This full moon December 17 will be sweet to Neptune, and so you may be giving a festive holiday party at home within five days of this date. Given the time of the year, you may be having your gathering at home over one of the nearby weekends of December 14-15, or December 21-22. It seems the perfect time to do so.
The month will become tense when a gang of planets will start to move through, intent on stirring the pot and putting all people of all signs on edge. Everyone will feel these aspects, and I am sorry to report them to you. We study astrology so that we can minimize difficult aspects by not being broadsided by them, so let's look at what I see.
On December 24-25, Mars will oppose Uranus in a direct 180-degree confrontation. Money will be the topic, and it will be upsetting, for Pisces does not make material things or money top priority - you always put people and the quality of the project first. Pisces are skilled with managing money, so I am puzzled why money would come up at holiday time. It may be that your partner criticizes you about spending too much on gifts, which is never a good idea - Pisces is generous. Questioning a Pisces about gift giving at holiday time is an argument the other person can never win.
The problem with this aspect is that it comes out of the blue, in a very unexpected way, and seemingly from nowhere, so it is hard to defend against it. Some people drink a little more at holiday time, and in a disagreement, alcohol makes everyone say more than they wanted to say, and often later regret those words. Suffice to say you will need to keep your guard up. Stay way from discussing money with anyone, for this could flare up out of nowhere.
The following week brings more tense aspects.
On December 29, Mercury will be at 90-degree angle to Uranus, a nerve-wrecking aspect. You may have a disagreement with a friend or with your established partner, and again the topic will be money. Travel will be difficult, so try to delay leaving, whether you drive or fly, as you may face many delays. If you drive, have the correct driving instructions, and have your car tuned up before you go. Check the whether reports before heading out and cancel if travel is treacherous. If you must go, stay on main highways, not side roads, for should you need help, you can be easily found.
On December 30, the hardest day, the Sun and Uranus will be at odds. Whatever disagreement has come up recently seems to be intensifying, and again, a friend will be in the spotlight. Oddly, it's possible other friends or family will chime in, making for what should be a private matter, bigger. If it is not a friend who concerns you, it may be difficulty you encounter on social media. This all may be taking a toll on you, so protect your health.
December 31, New Year's Eve, brings more difficulties, with Mercury in Capricorn conjunct pushy Pluto, and both will be in hard angle to Mars, in your financial sector. Someone will try to dominate you and make you accept a course of action that you will resist. How much to spend on going out on New Year's Eve may also come up. For almost everyone, it may be better to plan a small, cozy, simple, yet stylish celebration at home with a few friends who live nearby.
Summary
The start of the month will be your best. It appears major career recognition is heading your way, and it will relate to the fine professional performance you've put into your work. After the new moon arrives on December 2, and in the two weeks that follow, watch for exciting phone calls and emails that may offer you a sterling opportunity to broaden and extend your influence. Positive publicity will come, and you will garner more respect from peers and VIPs. Uranus will be active and friendly, so all the fuss about you in your industry will come as a complete surprise and will translate into more money for you.
Mars will enter Libra on December 7 and remain for a rather astounding nearly eight months, until July 25, 2014, not its typical visit of six weeks. This will put a strain on your finances, and force you to think more about managing money more effectively. A family member may need money from you, or a creative project may require another hefty investment. Your expenses will be high, but so will your intense motivation to improve your income and cash flow. This suggests that you will be able to find new sources of income, but you will need to put in the effort to uncover that financial pipeline.
December 12 will bring enormously good news to your private life - you may become engaged and set a wedding date, or talk seriously about having a baby. On this day you will receive comforting and stabilizing beams from wise, practical Saturn. News will make you feel excited, as Jupiter, so beautifully angled to Saturn, is the ancient ruler of Pisces and will protect you. In another way this may manifest, if you are doing a deal on this day, it will have the possibility for a very long-range future, and profits too.
A decision or action concerning your home or other property will reach an important culmination at the full moon December 17. You may finish a sale or rental agreement, or you may purchase property. Or, you may have found a fabulous piece of furniture that you've always wanted earlier, and have it delivered at this time. If your home turns out not to be your focus, your parents (or someone you think of as a parent) may need your assistance and will be very appreciative of your help.
The golden glow of December will hit a rocky patch in the second half. Uranus, now in your earned income house, will receive a challenge from Mars, causing unexpected, jarring news about an expense (or a challenge to how you handle money from someone) on December 24 or 25 that you did not see coming. Alternatively, you may have an argument about money with someone close or with an insurance company - the news is not likely to be pretty. Remain diplomatic and take the high road as you search for options.
The following week, December 29 to 31 (and into January), money will continue to be a sore topic of discussion. A friend seems to offer no hope and no help, and in fact, may be at the core of the problem. With aspects like these, economize until you have a broader picture of what is to come. If possible, delay a big-ticket purchase until the second half of 2014, with the purchase or sale of property the exception at the full moon.
In love, Jupiter is still moving through your fifth house of true love, and will continue on that path throughout the first half of 2014. If single, your best moment to meet someone new will be on December 12 - if you get invited to a party, by all means accept.
Venus is about to retrograde in your parties / friendship / people and events sector from December 21 to January 31, so if you do decide to circulate and meet new people, you must do so prior to the full moon, December 17, plus two days. Venus in retrograde means Venus sleeps, but to find lasting love, you need Venus awake and vibrant. Get busy in early December!
Dates to Note: Pisces
Most romantic dates, and days you can use for other things too: December 1, 4, 5, 8, 9, 12, 12, 14, 17, 19, and 23.
You may get exciting publicity, a new position, or rise in reputation on December 2 plus two weeks, due to the new moon in Sagittarius. Uranus will work hard for you - news will come suddenly and make you smile.
Negotiations about money should go well on December 3 when Mercury will be in friendly agreement with Mars.
A big emphasis on shared money will begin on December 7 when Mars goes into Libra, to stay until July 25, 2014. You may be sorting out an inheritance, divorce, mortgage, or other financial affair or negotiation.
A day to put a gold star on: December 9 when the moon, Jupiter, and Saturn will form a golden triangle in the sky, linking love, long-distance travel, and all interests that relate to you personally.
Good news comes on December 10 when Mercury will trine Uranus. This is good day for a trip too.
On December 12, you have an excellent day for getting engaged, with Jupiter (luck and happiness, now in your marriage sector) in perfect angle to Saturn (planet of longevity).
The December 17 full moon in Gemini 26 degrees and Uranus goes direct at 9 degrees after being retrograde since July 17
December 21 Venus goes retrograde from December 21 to January 31, 2014.
On December 24-25 Mars will oppose Uranus, indicating that tempers will be short and people overwrought. Alcohol might make people feel even more out of sorts, and more likely to speak in a way that may incite emotions.
The tension continues on December 29 when Uranus will be at odds with Mercury. This is not a day to travel, to negotiate, sign a contract, or to buy anything expensive, now and in coming days.
Things won't improve December 30. The Sun will square Uranus and Mars will be at odds with Pluto - two aspects that are seriously jarring. Keep things low key.
December 31 Mercury will conjunct Pluto and both will be at odds with Mars. Do not travel far. Keep New Year's celebrations small.
