Virgo Horoscope for September 2013

By Susan Miller

For many birthday months past, you had some very difficult aspects that spoiled your special month, so you may have began to assume happy Septembers just weren't going to happen. Those days are over, dear Virgo. You are looking at a solidly supportive month where you can get so much closer to a dream that is dear to you. You will begin to see just how special things can be when the new moon in Virgo (13 degrees) arrives on September 5 to get the party started.

This month you will get to decide how to direct the new moon's energy. That's because at birthday time a new moon in your sign - Virgo - will cater to your desires that are so dear to you, only you would know what those might be. Think about what you'd love to happen in your life that would make you truly happy, then take a step toward that end after the new moon in Virgo appears. You will have two weeks in which to take that first initiation, but a new moon gives you the strongest energy immediately and becomes increasingly weaker with each passing day, until at the end of ten days to two weeks, the new moon's energy is completely spent. The things you do now, in the first week of that new moon, have the power to carry you forward in a positive way for a full year, until the next new moon in Virgo comes by to help you and to wish you a happy birthday.

The reason this new moon is infinitely sweeter than the ones you often experienced is this year that new moon in Virgo will receive direct support from Jupiter, the good fortune planet. Jupiter is in your friendship / community area of your solar chart these days (eleventh house), suggesting that the assistance that you experience will come from a friend, or from your membership in a club or group. This person may be a casual acquaintance or a dear friend - this house covers both. You may meet while at a convention, seminar, or club event, or at another friend's event, such as at a wedding or other celebration. Being active in social media may also help you in big ways too, or as we all know, we can make wonderful new friends on Twitter and Facebook. (I have!)

Saturn will also be supportive of this new moon, so Saturn will add his gift of stability to the actions you take just after the new moon September 5. Saturn is currently in Scorpio, in your house of communication, so if you plan to further your career through writing, editing, speaking, translating, or coding (or one of the other communication arts), Saturn will help you concentrate deeply, do excellent research, and most importantly, help you to solidify your position. Saturn is in your creative sector and will help you to contribute ideas that are practical and well grounded. If you sign a contract, you will have an opportunity to build a relationship that stands the test of time. Pluto will also be friendly to this new moon, a big plus, suggesting your efforts in a creative project have solid profit potential and Pluto will help you realize it.

If your birthday falls on September 5, or within four days AFTER that date, something new is about to come up that you will find very enticing. If you were born four days prior to September 5, something you have focused on previously, perhaps months ago, will now likely jump to life. Having a new moon coincide with your birthday does not happen very often, and so it means that your entire year will be filled with exciting fresh starts. This is your time to forge ahead, dear Virgo.

If your birthday does not fall near these dates, and you have your horoscope, then see if you have a natal planet that is within five degrees of 13 degrees in Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces.

September 6-7 will be potentially powerful, positive days for you - they deserve four gold stars. At this time, you will see the power of friendships and community in your life. These days may turn out to be some of your favorite days! If you are invited to a social event on one of these days, it appears to be quite luxurious and beautiful, so you must attend!

Mars is now moving through the constellation of Leo, putting you in a modest, behind-the-scenes role for now, but not for long. Come October, Mars will move out of Leo into Virgo on October 15 and stay until December 7. By then you will be almost ready to show the work you've been doing. I say "almost ready" because there are serious problems with the timing of unveiling anything important in October.

In the first days of October, Pluto will battle the Sun, then Uranus will send an even more troublesome aspect to the Sun on October 3. Then by October 4, we will have the new moon in Libra that will be full of difficulties - it will be as if this new moon will be on such a rampage that she will be breaking dishes and slamming doors. It's a jarring first week. Then, we have a lunar eclipse in Aries (actually not such a troublesome one), but as is true with all eclipses, it is time to observe, not react. A lot of dust will fill the air and it will be temporarily impossible to see the road ahead. An eclipse always has a second act, providing a wider picture in a few weeks, so be patient.) On top of all this, your ruling planet, Mercury will be retrograde from October 21 to November 10.

You see why I want you to get things finished in September, not October. Mars will be in Virgo until December 7, so if you are organized (and of course, you are that and more), you can use part of the time Mars will move through Virgo, say, from November 15 (leaving a little space from the day Mercury goes direct November 11) until December 7 to seed your biggest initiations.

In fact, I do not want you to run up too close to the end of September when planning your biggest actions, as the first difficult day, when Pluto will have a row with the Sun, will be October 1. As you see, October starts off with a bang, and it just keeps on going.

A new (not yet committed) love relationship, your concern for your older son or daughter, or a shortfall of cash will likely be your main concern. This appears to have nothing to do with what you did or didn't do, it is just the way things "are." I know you are tired of having money dilemmas, because this is bringing you back to days you assumed were over and done. When you saw Saturn leave Libra in October 2012, you did see money problems lift almost immediately, so no wonder you feel ready to throw your arms in the air. I understand. I considered not telling you any of this, but if I didn't, you might be broadsided by what may be coming, and that seemed to be not the thing a friend (me) would do to you.

We will all feel this October energy together, and we will all figure out what to do, together. The problem with October is that it is setting up a trend that will last several months. Everyone of every sign will feel this in one way or another. For now, be conservative about your own discretionary spending until you can see the lay of the land. I will be discussing the situation in more detail next month.

As we continue to go back to study this month, I will ask you not to sign papers on Sunday, September 15, and to watch what you say to people you care about on this day, too. Mercury, your ruler, will be in direct conflict with Uranus, a planet prone to explosive, unpredictable reactions and results. This is a fast-moving aspect, so it won't linger. I just wanted to flag it as a day to keep your head down and out of the line of fire. It is not a day to bring up any controversial topics with someone you care about.

While the new moon you and I talked about earlier will center on you and your desires, the full moon in Pisces (27 degrees) on September 19 will focus on your closest committed partner, in love, or in business. That person may be someone you've dated a long time, or are engaged or married to. Or, it may be a business partner or collaborator. Jupiter will be in the wings to help you, again from your friendship sector, suggesting that a friend may play a part in all that happens at this full moon. You seem to be reaching accord with a partner, too, perhaps planning to sign papers or to give a verbal agreement. Clearly, some may be getting engaged or married within days of this date, and it would be a lovely time to do so.

If your birthday falls on September 19, or within four days, you will find that this full moon will be quite powerful for you. Also, it is not that common to have a full moon coincide with your birthday, so it means you will have a whole year where you see things reach culmination. By your next birthday, you'll need to draw up new goals, but for now, you will see several dreams materialize and enjoy the fruits of your labors.

Not born near September 19? If you have your natal horoscope, look to see if you have a natal planet at 27 degrees of Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio, or Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn - if you do, you will feel the full moon developments quite directly.

When it comes to fun and love, you will have Venus in Scorpio from September 11 to October 7, and that tells me that you will enjoy taking a drive out of town to be with nature and to spend time with the one you love. Venus will be in good angle to Pluto, so an introduction to a new romantic interest may occur if you are single.

The month will be punctuated with a lovely aspect, September 26, when Venus in Scorpio will be in divine angle to Jupiter in Cancer. You may be invited to quite a beautiful event where friends will surround you, along with other people present who you will want to know better. You need a little fun, and this one would fit the bill. There will be something luxurious about this social event, and it may come plus or minus one day from this date, September 26. This is an A-list day, so say yes! Go!

Summary

It's birthday time, and you will be filled with energy and enthusiasm, anxious to write your ideas boldly across the sky. Be patient, dear Virgo. Mars, the action planet, will lag behind your Sun, making it a time of reflection, not action, for now. Although you may feel you are close to launching an important initiation, it appears that you don't have all the pieces of your plan in place yet. You will be moving rapidly in late November, and by that time Mars will be well ensconced in Virgo. Until then, spend time perfecting all the elements of your plan and reassessing your assumptions.

The new moon in Virgo will appear September 5, and is one of the friendliest new moons of the year. In a year that has not offered many highly supportive new moons, this one, September 5, will be a standout. It's time for you to make your list of all you hope to accomplish in the coming year, for the power of that new moon will have your back in weeks ahead in a way that you will find you can practically move mountains. Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, will be in ideal angle to that moon and bring you extraordinary help from a friend, or from an entire community of people that can offer you a hand. Pluto, from your creative sector, will also be well positioned, offering luck and praise for your artistic efforts, and give your ideas profit potential. Not to be outdone, Saturn will give your actions staying power and stability, as well as the gift of practicality and structure. Dear Virgo, you cannot lose.

If you have been concerned about the welfare of one of your children, or regarding a pregnancy, this new moon may offer you comfort. Quick, short travel may be in the cards, too, as Saturn will also beam golden vibrations and help you on your way. A trip taken this month seems to be for pleasure, not work. September 7-8 should be a stellar weekend to flee with a drive out of town into the country.

By the full moon, September 19, plus or minus four days, you will want to make an important decision about that partner. If you are in love, Pluto's turn from retrograde to direct on September 20 should bring clarity and a sense of purpose. Pluto has been out of phase for months, since April 12, so if you've had a hard time coming to a conclusion about the future of a love affair, a creative project, or a question concerning a child or pregnancy, more information coming now should allow you to decide what you should do next.

Each month I will write a short yearly overview of the birthday year ahead for the birthday sign for Neiman Marcus' beautifully redesigned blog, NMDaily. We started last month with Leo's report, and this month is yours. I had given this link to the readers who follow me on Twitter @AstrologyZone and include it here in the PS below, in case you did not see it yet.

Dates to Note: Virgo

Most romantic dates: September 5, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21-22, and 26-28. (These dates will be favorable for other initiations important to you as well.)

The new moon in Virgo September 5 will be an important one for you, so take a first step regarding a dream, venture, or goal important to you.

The weekend of September 7-8 should be magically social, and even luxurious, due to the collaboration between the Sun and Jupiter.

You may make a serious, long-term decision involving your spouse or steady partner near the full moon September 19. Aspects are happy, however, so no worries - it's all good!

Pluto will go direct on September 20 in your house of true love, so any indecision you may have felt you about someone you have been dating will end - you will be in close touch with your feelings. If you have been focused on improving the welfare of a child, your plan will now materialize.

Cook up an evening with friends on September 26, where you will have lots of fun, thanks to the signal Venus will send to Jupiter. Something about this day will be ultra-pampering and luxurious - it's a yes!
