Capricorn Horoscope for September 2013

There will be much to enjoy about September, dear Capricorn. The Sun has now moved to your ninth house of foreign and distant travel, college level learning, and adventure. Everything starts when the new moon appears with the Sun on September 5 to make the following two weeks chock full of exciting experiences for you.

That new moon, to fall in Virgo (13 degrees), will open doors, not only to allow for a possible vacation or highly profitable business trip (you can choose which it would be for you), but this new moon will also pave the way for a positive development in the area of academia, in terms of your goal to attain an advanced degree or be given a grant from a university. Alternatively, if you are a professor, teaching assistant, or part of the support staff of a college, you, too, will benefit.

If you work in publishing or broadcasting, the September 5 new moon in Virgo and the days that follow will be the time to pitch your idea to your editor or executive producer. Developments should thrill you. New assignments may be linked to international stories, markets, or readers. You may or may not need to travel to do the project. The assignment may come in from a city far from you, and the editor will want you for your perspective and talents. Or, as is the case in many news organizations, you may need to go to see things firsthand and report on the event. There are other ways this could play out. If you are an author, you may have your work translated into another language.

This is basically a highly intellectual, probing part of the chart that weighs the opinions and viewpoints of others. If you hope to start a legal action, this new moon would be the right time to do so. If a case you have been part of has dragged on, then as soon as that new moon arrives, offer the other side an idea of a solution. You may be able to move the case along if you offer that idea or compromise on or near September 5 or 6. (Do not do it, however, on September 9.)

I am excited about this new moon because it will fall in Virgo 13 degrees. Virgo is an earth sign like yours that blends beautifully with your Capricorn Sun. It will receive direct support from Pluto in Capricorn, suggesting you will feel revitalized by the opportunities that surface shortly after this new moon arrives.

Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, will also be supportive, and will see that you have support from the new moon, suggesting you will get help from a business partner, expert, ghost writer, or other person you work with in very close collaboration. It is alternatively possible Jupiter is pointing to your established romantic partner (including a spouse), and the presence of Jupiter may make it possible that you will travel together, quite joyfully, and enjoy first rate accommodations.

Early September may also mark a perfect time to go on a spiritual retreat with your church (for example, the Catholic Church often offers these kinds of trips, as do many other types of religious organizations.) Or you may simply want to be one with nature in a quiet place, to give you time to meditate, pray, or think deeply about matters that are important to you. The ninth house is the place in the chart that encourages us to delve deep into our hearts and minds to center the spirit, to find proper balance, and most importantly, to ponder about the meaning of life and what contribution you can make in your lifetime.

The ninth house, where this new moon will be based on September 5, will exert a flow for two weeks, but keep in mind that it will lose strength with each passing day. That's why it's best to plan your actions for the days that closely follow any new moon. Don't delay.

The actions you take at the new moon will have the power to help you for a full year, until the next new moon in Virgo comes back on August 25, 2014. Also, be careful not to jump the gun and initiate your key actions before the new moon arrives, as a new moon cannot help you before it arrives, only after. All your initiations have a "birth" - a birthday - when the endeavor starts, just like you do. You will always want to choose the day that will give you the strongest possible outcome, so start ON or AFTER September 5.

I particularly love September 6 and 7, when the Sun and Jupiter will team up to offer you exceptional opportunity - this day rates four stars with me! Jupiter is now in your seventh house, ruling marriage and committed partnerships of all kinds, and so someone who you are aligned with in love or business is the one likely to give you a hand.

If your birthday falls on January 3, plus or minus three days, you will feel the effects of this new moon coming September 5 the most. (The new moon will have an overarching effect over September 6 and 7, giving those days extra strength.)

Not born near January 3? See if you have a natal planet at 13 degrees Capricorn, Virgo, Taurus, or Pisces, Cancer, or Scorpio, for that planet will be energized. Or, if you have your rising sign at that degree in one of those signs, you will benefit, too. Watch what happens, take notes, and remember to write "new moon Virgo 13 degrees" next to your notes. Mars is now in Leo, and that placement is likely causing you to burn through large amounts of cash all month, and during the first half of October, too. Mars has that effect when in your eighth house, and you may be racking up higher than usual balances on your credit card, or in terms of a loan from a bank. It may be that a big sum is now due for tuition, or you may have to write many checks because you are moving next month. There are any number of reasons this may be happening. Sometimes spending points to a major lifestyle change underway.

September 9 may be a difficult day for money because Mars, in your credit card / loan financial sector, will be at odds with Saturn in Scorpio in your house of hopes and wishes, so you may have to delay a purchase you planned on making soon. Don't be blue - you have some better luck coming a few days later.

Watch what happens in regard to your finances on September 13-14, when Mars in Leo in your banking / mortgage / loans and other capital sector receives a beam from Uranus, the latter from your home sector. If you have been looking to buy, sell, or rent an apartment or house, you may get sudden, out of the blue good news on this weekend, Friday, September 13, and your even bigger day, Saturday, September 14. Or, you may get outstanding financial help from one of your parents. News will come like lightning, very suddenly, and you won't expect it!

Moving along, Sunday, September 15 would be a bad day to sign papers, as Mercury (ruling agreements) will oppose Uranus directly. Your agreement would likely spin apart shortly after you sign it - it will have very little to zero longevity! Wait a few days, and look closely at the wording of the contract. Do you think you caught every nuance? Keep looking. You seem to be overlooking a clause - or you may not have addressed something that is missing from this document and need to ADD a clause.

By the full moon, September 19 in highly compatible sign of Pisces, you will be ready to put your signature on the dotted line. Do not do so before September 19, but I like September 20 and 21 even more.

On this same full moon, September 19, in Pisces 27 degrees, you may again travel. This time, you won't cover as much ground, but you will still have fun. Jupiter won't be super close, but close enough to send a shimmering beam to the full moon, and that makes me happy for you. (Jupiter is orbiting within 10 degrees of the full moon - close enough for me to feel he will act like a kindly uncle, anxious to care for you.) You can expect a touch of pampering on this full moon, too, so maybe you are having a spa day or weekend or a resort to relax. (Sounds good!)

If your birthday falls on January 17, plus or minus four days, you will benefit from this full moon in Pisces. If you were not born at this time of the month, and you have your natal chart, see if you have a planet at 27 degrees of Pisces, Cancer, Scorpio, or Capricorn, Virgo, or Taurus. Or, see if you have Pisces rising 27 degrees. In any of these circumstances, you will benefit too, in different ways.

More things are happening! On September 20, Pluto in Capricorn will finally move forward after having been retrograde since April 12. Because this planet of regeneration is in Capricorn, this is great news for you, for you will see projects that are dear to you push forward at long last. Say goodbye to so many delays! Your health may show an upturn, too.

Whenever a big outer planet goes from retrograde to direct - Pluto, Neptune, Uranus, Saturn, and Jupiter - it sends a subtle message within a day or two of the event, in this case, September 20. Watch carefully for news that comes in, for you will be able to see which ways thing are about to go. If you don't watch, you may miss the clues. So set your phone alarm for September 20, 21, and 22 to remind yourself to keep your antenna up. When you listen and observe, you get unmistakable notice.

September 21 will be quite gratifying, for your ruler, Saturn, will send a friendly beam to Pluto in Capricorn, and you'll do something or hear something that makes you feel much more secure.

Before I end with a few comments on love and romance, I want to urge you to finish up as many details on your agenda this month, and not let them go to October. October is going to be quite a workout for everyone, of every sign. The first week brings Pluto in conflict with the Sun (October 1). Then you'll see a more difficult aspect when Uranus directly opposes the Sun (October 3), to be followed by an angry new moon in Libra (October 4), forcing you to address changes in your career that may be out of your control.

On top of all that, Mercury will go retrograde from October 21 to November 10. You will feel the effects of the retrograde - the slowdowns and the crossed wires in communication - two weeks earlier. If you try to sign in the first week of October, you will be giving birth to your endeavor during the wild cosmic storms of the first week. You see why I urge you to complete things now, in September. If you have a product launch, do it in September if you can, or table it for the second half of November. I now you can't always control the flow of events. If you have to work on these important things in October, have all hands on deck to help you. Still, sign no contracts if you can avoid doing so! Sign in September!

Love may be in the air while Venus tours Scorpio, from September 11 to October 7. Venus will be in your house of friendship, so you may be invited to some sweet nights out during this phase. Venus will orbit close to Saturn, however, so you seem to be in a serious frame of mind. A friend may need your good advice, so be ready to give her some of your time. (Venus tends to be feminine, which is why I referred to a female friend.)

September 26 appears to glitter and glow, when you can combine your steady sweetheart / spouse with a group of your friends. The outcome will be double the fun. You may decide to plan something special!

Summary

If you are working toward an advanced undergraduate or graduate degree, the new moon on September 5 will help you get organized. You'll have your classes, books, and computer / software in place - all-important elements when starting a new term. If you are not taking formal classes, the emphasis on learning in your chart may also stimulate you to take seminars or a weekend workshop, and that would be a good idea, too. Your mind is clearly hungry for new concepts to chew on.

Travel has always been considered by ancient astrologers to be another method of learning, for travel opens the mind to new ideas and cultures. If you can take time off, spin your compass and choose a place to go - early September would be an ideal time to see the world. If you can't take on such an ambitious vacation, you will have another chance to go to a pretty location - most likely at the seashore - within four days of the full moon in Pisces, September 19.

If you have dreamed of writing a book, this is the month to shape your proposal and send it out. The publishing industry is fortunate for you now, so it's the ideal time to garner serious attention for your ideas. If you work in broadcasting, your ideas will now receive similar serious consideration. Do not delay - set those meetings in place.

You appear to be spending a lot of money now, but there's a good chance you may have planned for that eventuality. You may be sending checks to cover tuition, or stocking up on new clothes or a computer, or buying a new car, as a few examples. Fortunately, expenses will calm down by mid-October, so there will be a light at the end of the tunnel. In the meantime, if you are buying a house, doing renovations, or decorating, September 15-16 will be a special, happy time, for this weekend brims with good financial news, perhaps concerning a loan that's been approved for a home improvement, or mortgage or refinancing plan.

Pluto is now in Capricorn and has been retrograde since April 12. This month, Pluto will turn direct and orbit at increased speed. This will speed up your life too, with far fewer delays than you've become accustomed. You'll like the change - watch closely the news you get within two days of September 20 for proof that life is about to move on fast forward. This is a change that will make you smile and realize that things really are getting better.

Socially, Venus will spend quite a bit of time in your house of people / friends / events this month, but move in step with Saturn. This suggests you have a friend who you care about and who may need your assistance. Your friend may be facing a rough patch or a full-blown crisis. You seem ready to help, so near the third week, keep your schedule open so that you can move in any direction.

Dates to Note: Capricorn

Most romantic dates: September 5-7, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21-22, and 26-28. (These dates will be favorable for you for other initiations, too.)

Travel is written all over your chart, beginning with the new moon September 5 and continuing until the full moon period is over September 22. (The full moon falls this month on September 19).

Socially, you are lucky to have Venus in Scorpio in your eleventh house of hopes and wishes, from September 11 to October 6. Cook up plans with friends.

You seem to have a situation going on at home that is either volatile or needs resolution, but if so, watch for good news September 14.

Pluto in Capricorn has been retrograde since April12, but will go forward September 20. As a result you will see all your plans will move forward now.

Circle September 26 as a golden day for socializing with your spouse / steady partner and your friends.
