Libra Forecast for May 2015

This month will all about getting your finances in order. In the first three weeks of May, you will be a productive whiz, powering through paperwork and getting things done in half the time it would usually take you. Let's look at the details, starting at the top of the month.

May opens with a full moon in Scorpio, May 3, in your second house of earned income. If you had asked for a raise in salary previously but did not hear back, this full moon will likely bring you the answer within four days of this date. It looks like you will get an approval - let's think good thoughts! Full moons bring culminations and closure to ongoing situations.

This full moon is friendly, for it will receive a positive support from Neptune. This tells me that if you are in a creative field, you will do especially well, and at this time, you may receive a check for artistic work, as Neptune has dominion over creative efforts. Or, an important creative project may now get greenlighted and funding approved.

Your finances will be given more emphasis at the new moon, May 18, plus ten days. The part of your chart that will be lit up will deal with money, but will be the eighth house of your horoscope dealing with other people's money. For example, if you need a mortgage, refinancing plan, student loan, or university financial aid, or want to settle the division of property in a divorce or at the end of a business, you would normally open talks at a new moon in your eighth house like this one. Taxes, credit cards, loans, and insurance payouts also make up part of the eighth house. If you open talks in a difficult negotiation such as with your soon-to-be ex, or need to negotiate a legal settlement in a court case, I am sorry to say that your timing would be off. Taskmaster Saturn will oppose this new moon, causing many delays and lots of negotiation and paperwork. You are likely to be browbeaten by the other side and find the talks to be arduous and nearly endless.

To complicate matters, Mercury is about to go retrograde from May 18 to June 11, causing miscommunications, understandings, postponements, and snags that will come up out of the blue. I am thinking you might do better to open talks next month on June 16, when the new moon will be in friendly-to-Libra Gemini. All new moons plant a seed and most open opportunity - you will have two potent weeks in which to begin and find areas of agreement. You need not finish talks on your particular topic, but you would find accord more easily in June than you would in May.

Travel will be a possibility in the second part of the month, after Mars moves into Gemini, a sweet placement for you, starting May 11 and continuing until June 24. The new moon next month will also encourage you to take a vacation, and it would be wise to do so soon.

You will encounter two hard days for travel, however, when I would like you not to be on the road. The first will be May 15, when Mars will oppose Saturn. You will face delays, or if you travel for business, not accomplish much. This is no day to sign a contract - be cautious and re-examine the paperwork.

An even more difficult day for everyone, including you, will be May 22, when Saturn will oppose the Sun. Don't travel on this day either, as you would encounter many difficulties. It's also not a day to sign a contract, as you would build difficulties into the DNA of the venture. (Mercury will be retrograde anyway at this time, another indication that this would not be a good time to sign.) Saturn will drain you, and you may return home on this day overwrought and exhausted. Keep your schedule light.

Venus will enter your career sector when Venus tours Cancer from May 7 to June 5. This is the classic aspect of "the benevolent ruler," so not only will you be championed by VIPs during this phase, but subordinates under you will vie to work on your team. That's a lovely situation! Your ruling planet is Venus, so the whereabouts of Venus in the heavens each month is very critical for you, for when Venus is happy and harmonious to other planets, your life improves too.

Here's a lovely set of days to circle on our calendar. On the days leading to May 16, a Saturday, you will have Neptune in perfect angle to Venus, so that Thursday, May 14, or Friday, May 15, may turn out to be brilliant days for your career. Neptune is currently based in your workaday project sector, so you may get a particularly exciting assignment that will allow you to add quite a bit of your creativity.

Good news from an insurance company regarding your home may arrive on May 6 - you may be given a payout check if you put in a claim. Or, if you applied for a mortgage or refinancing plan, your banker may call you excited that you were approved, with attractive terms. If you are selling a house, or putting a bid on one, May 6 will be your lucky day, for the Sun and Pluto will work together to make this day one of your best financial days of the month for real estate and family-related matters.

In May, romance won't be the main event, but June bursts with opportunity. A set of days to circle on your calendar, when romance should shine brightly, will be June 20-21, thanks to a rare signal between good fortune Jupiter and surprise planet Uranus. The transiting moon will be in superb place for you, Leo, and by then, Venus will have moved into Leo, too, so the stage will be set. This aspect takes years to form - it's big!

Summary

If you had asked for a raise, the answer should come back to you on one of these days, between May 1 and 7 - you should like the answer you receive, too. With extra cash, you may be making an important purchase you've been looking forward to making. This comes thanks to the full moon, May 3, so you won't feel in limbo long.

Money you hold jointly with another person or entity, such as a bank or credit card company, will be your main priority at the new moon in Scorpio May 18. Pluto, a big money planet, will be in the neighborhood and faintly friendly - a little too far away to make a tight aspect, but close enough to give me optimism for help from this major planet. I feel talks with your tax accountant, government official, mortgage broker, loan officer, venture capitalist, or other authority figure should go well as long as your paperwork is accurate and professionally crafted. Saturn will come down on you harshly if you have inaccuracies. This new moon will coax you to reorganize your financial portfolio, if you like, so seek expert advice from your financial advisor on May 19, 20, or 21.

You can make financial and other decisions, but hold off acting on them, as Mercury will be retrograde from May 18 to June 11. Your judgment is often off, and you would be basing your decisions on current conditions, but under Mercury retrograde, those conditions are about to undergo a radical shift. Be patient and keep your eyes and ears open - you will see afterward why you were wise to wait.

In your career, you are about to hit some very high spots, thanks to Venus' move into your prestigious house of reputation, from May 7 to June 5. That won't be the end of your exciting news about your career - you are just cranking up, and June through early July should bring even more dramatic news. Start to get your CV ready now - you are entering what could be quite a breathless period for professional progress! If you have responsibilities at home, you can still get a part-time job with an enviable title.

To give a happy balance to the month, migrating planets into your ninth house of travel will make any idea of alighting your magic carpet and going off to a pretty location a reality. Spin your compass, dear Libra, for almost any city that is distant from your base will bring wonder and excitement. That's because Mars will bring exceptional energy and excitement to your travel sector from May 11 to June 24. You will want to catch that wave. Days not to travel will be May 15 or 22, for you may face too many delays.

You CAN travel very happily with Mercury retrograde as long as you carefully label your suitcases. The people back at the office will sorely miss your presence, but you will love being away at this time! When the office calls you, scream into your cell phone, "Who is this? I can't hear you!! Did you say Edith? Edith who?" and let the phone click off as if a dropped call as you go back to your iced tea and view of the turquoise sea. You need the fun, dear Libra!

May 3 brings the full moon in Scorpio, encouraging you to settle finances. If you asked for a raise earlier, you may get your answer about it within four days of May 3.

A home or family related plan would get a big boost on May 6. If you need funding, you may get it, so see a VIP at the bank about that too if necessary.

Venus will move into Cancer May 7 to June 5, lighting your house of reputation. Others will be eager to work under your leadership.

Generate ideas for work on May 16, for you will likely hit on one that others find uniquely fitting to the situation.

While Mars moves through Taurus May 1 to 10, you may find your expenses rise, a situation that marked April too. You will find that spending simmer down after May 10.

Mars will move into Gemini on May 11, a superb place for Mars to be for you. You will feel liberated and fancy free. Consider taking a vacation - this would be your best month to go.

The new moon on May 18 will light your house of joint finances, such as those you hold with a mate, business partner, or even with a bank or credit card company. Saturn will be at odds with this new moon, so you may feel substantial changes need to be made to bolster your holdings and allow you to grow wealth.

May 22 brings Saturn at odds with the Sun, making for a potentially draining day, especially if you need to travel, negotiate, or shop. Do not sign papers on this day - Mercury is retrograde anyway, so it would be an especially bad day to sign papers. Wait until the end of June to make big decisions. Things are unstable now.
