October brings an array of delays, forgetfulness, and postponements, but you have a choice. You can view October as a ball of frustration and pull your hair out, or you can see October as a full length, funny cartoon movie, too silly to take seriously. I say, take the latter. Mercury will be retrograde all month, so pushing against events won't help. You began to feel the approaching slowdowns of the Mercury gremlins at the end of September, so give in to the delays - you may enjoy the unscheduled time you receive unexpectedly. Postponements will open your schedule and give you something precious that you've not had in a long time, namely, free time.
Mercury will retrograde from October 4 to 26. Don't take those dates too literally as I do not want you to run up against them. Don't sign a contact on October 3 or October 27, for example - that's cutting it too close. Think of Mercury as a big cruise ship that has to make a U-turn in the ocean. It will take all the energy that ship has to give to spin in the opposite direction. That's why the start and end dates of Mercury retrograde are always very tough days when energy is low, and the static in the air is high, so they are ones you will want to avoid.
All signs experience Mercury retrograde in a fairly uniform way. Instead of focusing on the delays, think about the relief you might feel in having Mercury, the planet of communication and perception, retrograde. You will find the time to attend to things you really wanted to do but had put off due to lack of time. You will also have a golden chance to reconnect with friends and relatives you truly care about. If you want to reconcile with a past love, this would be the time to make the first move to find out if your former flame feels the same way you do. Be brave - you have a strong, favorable Mars behind you, and an extra-sweet Venus too.
This time Mercury will retrograde in Scorpio and Libra, but spend the lion's share of its time in Libra in your third house of short distance travel. This means that travel will be rife with delays and changes in scheduling, so you would be best to make your quick trips in November. If you must travel to see a client in October, call ahead to be sure your appointment is still on, and while you are at it, recheck the company's address and get directions. Once I traveled by air to a company during Mercury retrograde, only to find out the company had recently moved to another state, and the executives had never thought to inform me.
In October, you would be wise to put off purchasing electronics, and appliances, machines, or, if you need one, a car. Mercury rules the moving parts in machines, so it's always a terrible time to shop for electronics. Wait until November, and you will be glad you did. Look at the bright side: this year, Mercury will not be retrograde during the coming holiday shopping season. That's a huge plus! You will make much better choices this year, and friends and family will likely be thrilled with your gifts. Start shopping in November and enjoy a relaxing holiday season of parties and get-togethers in December. After October, Mercury will not retrograde again until January 21 to February 11, 2015.
This month also has two eclipses. The first one, a total eclipse of the moon, a lunar eclipse in Libra 15 degrees, will arrive on October 8. The second one will be a friendly new moon solar eclipse in Scorpio, 0 degrees, on October 23, and because you are ruled by the Sun, a solar eclipse will always be the more important one for you. These are nothing like the ones that came by in April - that was a monstrous month.
The first one, the full moon eclipse in Aries, will fall on October 8 in your ninth house. That house rules long distant travel, international trade and commerce, immigration issues, legal matters, publishing and broadcasting projects, and goals involving academia and your pursuit for a higher education. One of these areas will be important to you now and light up as an area to talk about. You may be taking a sudden trip, so have your suitcase ready. It is also possible you will hear important news about an aunt or uncle, or an in-law. Be ready to check in by phone.
This total eclipse of the moon will conjoin Uranus, making news near October 8 surprising or even shocking. Uranus could be exciting, for this planet is unpredictable, and always brings the kind of news that you are not looking at, and could never guess would happen. This time, however, Uranus seems to create more jitters at the start than happy news, but don't give up - good aspects arrive like little firemen on the spot, just at the right time two days later.
Uranus will not only conjunct the moon, indicating an unstable family or domestic situation may arise, but Uranus will also oppose your ruler, the Sun, suggesting you will need to take good care of your health. Alternatively it may be that a male near you, such as your father or husband, may not feel well and need your care. Or, due to this impending sudden challenge to your Sun, you may have difficulties getting along with a partner, or a competitor may stage an assault on your territory in the hopes of taking some of your best customers away. You are a great strategist, so I am not sure that competitor will be at all successful. As long as you remain alert, you can fend off any kind of offensive.
As I mentioned, don't freak out about any news you hear as a result of the eclipse, because only two days later, a golden triangle will appear in the heavens, with each point holding a planet in a fire sign. You are a fire sign, too, so this golden triangle will be a gift from a loving universe and tailor made for you, for you might be excited to see a breakthrough on something important to you. Uranus in Aries in your ninth house (covering all the areas I listed where the area the eclipse will appear) and will be in ideal angle to Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck in Leo, and to action planet Mars in Sagittarius in your fifth house of true love / fun and leisure / pregnancy / children / and creativity. This tells me that after the initial surprise or shock, you will find a way to turn any event to your favor.
This eclipse may trigger amazing opportunity to enjoy love (if you are single and not dating, you may be, very soon); have more fun; travel far and wide, possibly spontaneously; conceive a baby; and/or increase your creativity in a way that makes you burst with pride, allowing you to set the competition on their heads. It is so rare to have a fire sign golden triangle - I cannot remember when the last one occurred - so you do have the ability to see a breakthrough, or at the very least, be very excited with developments. As you see, this month is one of high contrast, but that will bring you good news after the initial jarring news. Think back to April 15, the date of the last eclipse in the Libra-Aries family of eclipses. This October 8 eclipse seems connected to topics that came up then, and you will be able to advance the conversation and possibly find an answer to a question that has been on your mind.
The place of the full moon eclipse, Libra, is an air sign that helps a fire sign like yours (Leo) burn more brightly. This means the eclipse is generally favorable to you, and this will be especially true if your birthday falls within five days of August 7, have Leo rising near 15 degrees or a natal planet in Leo, Aries, or Sagittarius at the same degree, 15 degrees, and all with the tolerance of plus or minus five degrees.
The second eclipse is a very friendly new moon solar eclipse, coming October 23 in Scorpio, and will open a new path for your living situation or in regard to one of your parents. Opportunities usually arise at these new moon eclipses, so be alert for all that will come your way. This eclipse will fall in your fourth house of home and family, and also covers other property you may own now or hope to lease or buy. Your fourth house rules your physical home, and how it looks and feels, but also the people with whom you hire or deal with to care for your home. Your family is also covered by this house, and points mainly to your parents' well-being, as well as the nature of your relationship and interactions with your parents.
Saturn has been pounding this home and family area of your chart since October 2012, so it is likely you have been concentrating a lot of your energy on solving a problem that arose in this part of your life. This friendly eclipse may open a path to solve a property, home, or family question that has weighed on you. Also, think back to all that happened at the April 28 eclipse, earlier this year. A topic that came up then may now move to the next level, and you may be ready to be put the matter to rest.
Let's now look at several standout days of October that I would like you to circle on your calendar.
As mentioned earlier, a golden triangle in the sky will occur in fire signs, like yours. This means you will be in an ideal position to take full advantage of this wonderful gift from the cosmos. Your best day will be October 10, when the Sun, your ruler, will receive a communication from Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck. You will be protected in rare ways on this day, and travel, study, love, and health all glow.
On October 13 and 14, Venus will be in conversation with Jupiter, days when matters related to your career will go exceptionally well. Use these days for an important presentation or interview.
You will have a stellar day on October 15, when the Sun and Mars will be beautifully angled, and because the Sun is your ruler, this day has your name written all over it, for you will see benefits. Mars will be in your fifth house of creativity, so your ideas will be original and imaginative - voice them to an influential person. Meetings with authority figures will go in your favor, and results of the meeting will make you very happy.
Money may be the topic of conversation on October 20, and if so, good! On this day Mercury will be meeting with Jupiter on your behalf. You may walk away with a raise, or make a sale to an important client.
For matters of love, you are so lucky to have Mars in Sagittarius almost all month, until October 25, lighting your house of true love. As I wrote earlier, Mars holds one of the points of the golden triangle, and Mars is now touring your fifth house of the true love. Watch the time near October 9 and 10 for good news about your love life, and also regarding a child you have now, or a child you hope to conceive soon.
Over October 18-19, Venus in Libra (a great placement for you) will signal her lover, Mars, and create an enchanting weekend for love. This weekend should be one of your best, and because Venus is in your short distance travel sector, you might want to book a bed and breakfast inn in the countryside for very special time together.
The following day, October 20 should be a wonderful day to get friends together for a dinner in a restaurant after work. If that is not convenient, then plan something over the same weekend as I wrote about above, October 18-19. If single and you have no special someone to travel with to enjoy fresh air and sunshine, then go out with your friends, as that weekend could bring you an introduction to a romantic new person you may find intriguing. Go slowly with any new relationship, as Mercury is retrograde, and go the extra mile to make sure you are picking up the right messages and making the right assumptions. Mercury can distort perceptions, so by going slowly, you will ensure a solid relationship.
When the Sun, your ruling star, and romantic, creative Neptune send friendly signals to each other, October 28, you will be in the mood for love. No doubt about it, it will be a glamorous night to go out, perhaps to enjoy a ballet, concert, or play. During the day, your creativity will hit peak levels; so keep concentrating on an artistic project, because you will be surprised at the stunning quality of your own output. This day comes only one day after a meeting between Venus and Neptune, adding to the importance of this day for blossoming love and creativity.
Mars will enter Capricorn on October 25, and the high level socializing you have enjoyed all month will start to fade, for your office life will become very active from then until December 4. You may have a seasonal job as you seem incredibly busy from the end of October onward. It will be nice to feel so very needed! If you are unemployed, this move of Mars may help you find work and extra money for the holidays. Capricorn is a big money sign, so you may be working on budgets or ledgers, accounts receivables, or accounts payables. Alternatively, you may be working with antiques or historical materials, for Capricorn rules things of value from the past. You will be busy, so take good care of yourself!
Summary
Eclipses are back, and although other signs may be under stress, you appear to be immune to most of what is going on. This month, the first eclipse, October 8, is in Aries, and will light your house of big horizons, blue skies, travel / international matters, higher education, and legal matters. One of these areas will light up for you in a big way, but keep in mind that Mercury will be retrograde from October 4 to 26, so you may be asked to make decisions on a less-than-full-information basis. Although many times in life we have to cope with missing data, this is not one of those times that it would be wise to do so. Delay filing a legal case or the final signing of an important paper until November. You can conduct talks and negotiations now - just seal them next month.
You are ruled by the Sun, so solar eclipses are always more noticeable to you than lunar eclipses - keep that in mind when the second eclipse rolls around on October 23. That one will open a path to new conditions with your apartment, house, or other property. You seem to have been wrestling with some sort of condition involving your home for some time, but now, with the arrival of a solar eclipse always known to create quick action, you may need to shift timetables and blueprints at the blink of an eye. Alternatively, this eclipse may focus you on one of your parents, most likely your father or other important male in your life, who may need sudden assistance, so be sure to keep your schedule light and flexible.
At the same time the eclipses are coming by, you will have a lyrical theme of love and romance in the background, coming to you thanks to a special tour of Mars through Sagittarius until October 25, lighting brilliantly your house of love, fun, children, and creative projects. If you are single, you may have the time of your life, or at least the time of your life in 2014, for you will have a superb chance to find a person perfect suited to you. Venus will cooperate too, all the way to October 23. You will have that special spark of allure, so be confident! If you are attached, you will get much more attention from your partner, so plan several romantic episodes, from dinners to trips together, to reconnect and refresh a relationship that may have become too predictable. If you hope for a baby, October is the time to try for conception or appeal to an adoption agency.
Two other days will stand out for the Sun. Your brilliant star will be in conversation with Jupiter on October 10 and with Neptune on October 28. October 10 will be an incredibly lucky day for you, perfect for travel for any purpose, or for advancing talks on just about any other purpose. Use that day as a lucky wild card that you keep in your pocket.
On October 28, present an original idea to a VIP. Mercury will have just gone direct October 25, so you will be on more steady ground, and will be fully regulated and strongest by November 10 - good to know if your venture is vital.
Work will get very busy once Mars enters Capricorn on October 26 to stay until December 4. That phase will be quite demanding, and you'll need to be at the office long hours. You will have a lot to show for your efforts, though, and happily this trend will abate just in time to enjoy year-end holiday parties.

Most important dates for love, meetings, or actions: 3, 12, 16, 17, 18, 21, 22, 26, 27, 30, and 31.
Mercury will be retrograde in Scorpio / Libra from October 4 to 26.
The total eclipse of the full moon October 8 may have you traveling to a very distant point quite suddenly, as Uranus will be conjunct the moon.
Alternatively, other topics that might come up at the October 8 eclipse involve the courts and legal matters, publishing and broadcasting assignments, immigration issues (including those involving passport, visa, or green card), academic matters (including defending your thesis), having a key interview, or taking an important qualifying exam.
If you are negotiating a contract, go slowly - with Mercury retrograde you should not sign anything until mid-November, allowing time for Mercury to become fully regulated in direct orbit.
In the meantime, a good day to see eye-to-eye with another party would be October 13, when Venus and Jupiter are in conversation.
Of the two eclipses this month, you will feel the solar eclipse, October 23, more, for you are ruled by the Sun. That eclipse could help you finally straighten out a problem involving a home / house / apartment / tenant / roommate / other property situation, or a question involving how to help one of your parents. This eclipse is mainly friendly and will help you move forward.
Two days shine brightly for you and deserve a star on your calendar. The first, October 10, will bring your ruler, the Sun, in contact with Jupiter. A home / housing / tenant / real estate situation may bring sudden good news - look at all your new options. This is a four-star day.
The second important date for you will be October 28, thanks to your being ruled by the Sun. You would be very successful in presenting a creative idea to an important VIP.
Mars will be in Sagittarius all month, until October 25. Mars in this position is sensational for jazzing up your love life. If single, circulate, especially on October 10, 13, and 14. You may meet anywhere, so look your best - your natural magnetism will be strong and will draw that person to you.
Venus will tour Libra all month until October 23, adding sparkle to your love life. Venus and Mars will both be compatible and create a bewitching weekend October 18-19, another good sign that romantically things are looking up.
Once Mars tours Capricorn, October 25 to December 5, you will be VERY busy at work. If you are not employed but would like to find a job, this trend could help you do that, and help you have extra cash for the coming holidays.
