日安連枷這個翻譯其實不太好，一般指的是一種帶尖刺鋼球的打擊武器
「晨星（Morning star）」。
其實這有分使用鐵鍊的連枷（Flail）型跟不用鐵鍊的戰棍（Mace）型，現在兩者
基本上混淆不清。其實以前的人大概也沒分很細。

有種說法是，就歷史考據其實只有戰棍型的才能稱為「Morning star」，因此應該
翻成「晨星棒」。但現在坊間對此非常混淆。總之，要籠統的定義，就是「金屬
武器部為如發光星星般尖刺鋼球的打擊武器」。
會錯誤地翻成日安連枷有可能是再跟荷蘭人使用的早安棍（Goedendag）相混淆
的結果。因為若單就文獻紀錄字面描述的話，這也是一種「帶尖刺的棍棒」。此
棒歷史前述，主要是荷蘭鄉民在獨立過程中用來問候法國人腦袋早安用的棒子。

荷蘭式早安棍
總之，這的確非常複雜，會讓人看不懂。
不過不論是晨星式或早安式，用金屬尖刺或金屬片補強的棍棒，大概是所有近戰
格鬥武器中C/P值最高的種類。
因為用這類武器爆頭，血跟腦漿會噴灑四濺，據說類似的帶刺棍棒武器，在英法
一帶被武鬥派僧侶用黑色幽默稱為「聖水噴灑器（Holy Water Sprinkler）」。XD
英國的征服者威廉（William the Conqueror）的兄弟，貝葉主教奧圖（Odo, Bishop
of Bayeux）據說就是這種武器的愛用者。

PS：
這邊講正經的，合法性高、製作簡便，也是這類鈍器類武器常被用來在民間的
自衛用途跟暴動抗爭使用的原因。就算軍事上，中亞的騎馬遊牧民族也非常
愛用這類金屬補強棍棒，金朝的士兵愛用狼牙棒應該也與此種風俗有關。
