英國輿論認為鎮暴水車有四大缺點：
1.買水車的錢不如去做社會福利降低抗議可能，或者拿來辦座談會，驅離後又沒解決問題
2.水車根本阻止不了真正亂跑攻擊人的暴民游擊隊
3.水車根本描不準，只能無差別攻擊，隨時會打到不相干的路人，有位被打到雙眼全瞎的
英國人說明了驅離跟打瞎差有點多...
4.總結以上，水車只能針對大規模不會動的和平抗議，但警察成立的目的是要保護所有人
。
