美國汽車雜誌Car&Driver受邀去瑞典試駕S90原型車，S90的操控表現比S80大進步，不輸給雙B對手，S90原型車的四驅底盤設定很運動化，貼地性高，過彎沉穩，值得期待。
為了縮短開發時程和節省開發成本，Volvo使用最新型的高科技實境模擬機，模擬各種不同的底盤設定，Volvo宣稱全球只有法拉利和保時捷使用這款同型模擬機。
