以往 Intel 官方所推出的S版/T版處理器大多
標定給AIO或ITX小電腦電腦組裝生產搭配使用Intel所標定的TDP是給散熱裝置設計的瓦數參考
並非一定的耗電量瓦數，依照等即可分為K版/標準版/S版/T版
其中S版和T版屬於65W和45W
除了S版/T版處理器所需要的解熱散熱裝置需求較低以外
主要是Intel挑選過降低時脈和電壓來穩定運作
達到給較小空間的主機環境在散熱器搭配上順利解熱
按照Intel的官方規格 SandyBridge 架構下
Core i7-2600K 以及i7-2600的熱功耗都是95W
而節能版的i7-2600S則是65W

不過主時脈也下降了不少從原本預設的3.4GHz
降到了2.8GHz，不過透過Turbo Boost都可以達到3.8GHz
其餘的規格不變，一樣整合了HD 2000的繪圖核心。
S 版的處理器自從LGA775以來Intel零售已經行之有年
雖然後期Intel官方報價S版處理器和所有版本幾乎已經沒有任何分別
可惜在台灣通路幾乎是沒有代理商引進
