Nearly a dozen residents of Buckhead, Atlanta took to the streets early on Monday morning to protest the possible move of Justin Bieber to the neighbourhood.

Protesters gathered on the roadside at around 6 am local time, and held placards reading "No Just(in)ce No Peace", "No Bieber on Blackland" and "Keep Bieber OUT!!!".

According to one of the protesters from 'Moms Against Bieber', the pop star's record with the police means that he will "ruin the city" and that his arrival could also trigger an STD outbreak among teenage girls in the city.

According to subsequent reports, the protest was part of a radio hoax organised by local station, Rock 100.5.

Following his very public legal woes and a series of bad behaviour leading up to it, Justin Bieber has hinted that he's back on track and ready to put his troubles behind him.

On Monday, the Never Say Never hitmaker posted a silly photo to Instagram of him leaning against a lifesize gorilla statue, captioned: 'No more monkey business :p.'

However, the smiley face with the sticking out tongue certainly did nothing to convince anyone that he was serious about changing his wild ways, nor did his petulant pose - shades firmly in place, hands in his pockets.
