Windows 8 Release Preview主要是給開發者使用，文中還提供了Windows Driver Kit 8和Visual Studio Professional 2012供開發者下載。而且這篇博文是發表在微軟新建立Windows Hardware and Driver Developer Blog專屬博客上，該博客可以讓開發者更好的參與到Windows軟件工具的開發過程中來。
