pay for...　　支付……
pay for 有兩層意思，
第一種解釋是『支付』，例如︰
My parents paid for my piano lesson.
（我父母付錢讓我學鋼琴。）

另一個意思是『付出代價』，例如︰
These people should pay for their crimes.
（這些人得為自己的罪行付出代價。）
意思和 pay the price 相近，這句話也可以說成︰
These people should pay the price for their crimes.。

pay 也有『獻上』的意思，例如︰
pay one's respects to sb （向某人致敬）
pay sb a compliment （讚揚某人）
pay tribute to... （對……表示敬佩）
pay 當名詞時的意思是『工資』，例如：
Did you get your pay? （你領薪了嗎？）
