2006年為了紀念林布蘭400歲冥誕，格林納威替荷蘭國立博物館（Rijksmuseum）策劃了一場展覽，將藝術史上最重要畫作之一的《夜巡》做新的詮釋，同時希望解開畫中四個世紀以來的謎。他運用燈光、音效、移動影像等科技，讓畫中的31位人物都活了起來，也將博物館的參觀者轉換成為劇場的觀眾，配合同樣主題的書與電影，構成《夜巡林布蘭》的大型計畫。
