@PatSheehanMLAAt 3.00pm on Oct 3rd 1981 after being on hungerstrike for 55 days I, on behalf of the prisoners, informed the Chief Medical Officer in the prison the hunger strike was over. Thus ended over seven months of one of the most defining periods of Irish history. Tiocfaidh ár lá.
