Aquarius Horoscope for May 2014

As you begin May, you may be glad you are through April. We had two eclipses on April 15 and April 28, and those were unusually difficult eclipses. Typically we get four eclipses a year, and they come in pairs, as full and new moon eclipses two weeks apart. Each eclipse has a unique message, and like snowflakes, no two eclipses are ever alike. What make the April 15 eclipses so hard is that Uranus, Pluto, Mars, and Jupiter were each 90 degrees from the other in a perfect cross pattern. That eclipse fell in your ninth house of long-distance travel, higher education, legal, and publishing / broadcasting sector. One of these areas may have brought you concern.
That same ninth house also rules aunts, uncles, and in-laws too, so perhaps one of those individuals drew your attention. I cannot see your custom natal chart from where I sit, so I ask you to always be sure to check your rising sign forecast too, assuming you have done your natal horoscope (something you need to do only once). With your health sectors being drawn into the conversation by Pluto and Jupiter, you may not have felt entirely well and healthy either. With planets clashing at such high decibel levels, almost everyone was feeling wrung out and under strain. If none of these areas brought news, keep your antenna up near May 15, as sometimes, in twenty percent of the time, an eclipse will deliver its news one month to the day later, plus or minus five days.
You were not the subject of the eclipse - the cardinal signs were - Aries, Libra, Cancer, and Capricorn were the focus - but that does not mean you didn't already experience a radical change of lifestyle in April. Eclipses speed up our timetables and increase our maturity. They don't allow for status quo - they demand bold action!
Now as you enter May, the solar eclipse of April 28 will still influence you during the first half of the month, and possibly all month, specifically in terms of your home, property, and parents / family. Eclipses are different from regular new moons in that they are three times as powerful, and they have a much longer effect, influencing you for months. That eclipse must have affected you if your birthday falls on January 29, plus or minus five days - you were in the path of the eclipse.
Usually eclipses bring surprise news - you may have heard you will suddenly need to move, or that your mom needs help finding a new doctor. Your roommate may have suddenly announced she's moving out, or that the house you have had tried to sell and that has been on the market for a long time suddenly brought in a bid. These are examples, but you get the idea.
A potentially tough day is coming up on Saturday, May 10, when your ancient ruler, Saturn will oppose the Sun. This is a somewhat epic conflict between ice and fire, and it can either produce a feeling of exhaustion or temporary depressed feelings that often disappear within a day or two. You will feel a push-pull between the needs of work versus the needs of those at home, or in regard to being attentive to property matters. Both parts of your life will press on you, and you'll need to be a master juggler. Aquarians with birthdays that fall on February 9 will feel this aspect the most, so give yourself a break and go slowly over this weekend.
Just several days later you will have a full moon in your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement. This tells me that the opposition of Saturn and the Sun on May 10 hints that you may want to give your work first priority, although it won't be easy. Here is why:
At the full moon, May 14, you will have a full moon in your tenth house of honors, awards, achievement, and fame, the only full moon you will see in this house this year. It will culminate a lot of planning you've been doing, possibly as far back as last November. The full moon will arrive arm-in-arm with Saturn, so you may need to make a very serious decision about your career or hear about a weighty offer that comes with a great deal of responsibilities. Anything you accept on this full moon, plus or minus five days, you will feel for a long time into the future. If you are signing papers, that agreement will be in place nearly forever.
Make sure you have an escape clause if later you should find you don't like the agreement. (I am not saying you won't like your agreement later, only to be sure you have options IN CASE you should feel differently later, years from now.) Any position you would take, or any business you would start now, would require a great deal of hard work and commitment, but that's good - you will make it a success.
All month, Saturn, your ancient ruler, and Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, will be "within orb" of a supreme collaboration, a rare aspect that will not be repeated until 2026. These two important planets will link your career and your workaday projects, so it's clear all the daily work you've done over the past months - even years - are adding up to something big. Go for the gold this month, for you've a lot of cosmic support behind you. These two planets will create an aspect of perfect harmony on May 23, but as said, you will enjoy this aspect all month, because these two planets move ever so slowly. When Jupiter and Saturn work together, you can build up a firm foundation for the future - your life will have a sturdy platform on which you can build a tall structure from now on.
You may need to travel for business this month, and one day that may bring a spontaneous trip that puts a smile on your face is May 15, when Venus conjuncts your modern ruler, Uranus. A trip taken on this day, to see a client or to negotiate a contract, should go very well.
Speaking of travel, this seems to have been a theme has come up since last December. Mars went retrograde on March 1 and has been out of phase ever since. If you had a hard time with forming travel plans, you will be happy to hear that Mars will go direct on May 19, and your pace will pick up after that. You will also see legal matters, foreign relationships, international commerce, and publishing and broadcasting projects. All these areas will improve.
When Mars is retrograde, it is never a good idea to launch something new and important - Mars gives the venture the important push it requires. Without Mars, it may never reach its full potential. Wait until on or after May 19. Mars will continue to grow in strength until it reaches July when it will be back to his old energy level.
Mars is in Libra, a sign that blends well with yours, and Mars won't leave this sign until the end of July. This month, if your birthday falls on January 29, plus or minus five days, you will feel the support from a newly energized Mars in a very noticeable way on or near May 19. Always watch the days that circle the turn of a planet from retrograde to direct, because you always get important clues of what is to come next - the news should be good.
The month ends on more good news, a new moon in Gemini, 7 degrees, in your romantic sector, May 28, will help you relax and find love. This will be the most important new moon of the year to socialize and meet new romantic interests. This new moon will be strong during the ten days that follow its appearance, so I suggest you go to a resort where single people go to meet each other. Mars will be very friendly, so you can pull plans together very rapidly. The Sun will be perfectly oriented to Mars on May 30, a Friday - all systems are go!
If you are attached and hope for a baby, this new moon can help you. Try for conception now, or see a specialist if you have had problems conceiving. If you have a child now, you can make solid plans to improve the life of your son or daughter.
Venus will be in Aries most of the month, a sign that blends nicely with yours, all the way to May 28. Venus will sweeten your short, quick spontaneous travel sector, giving you lots of opportunities to flee town. The weekend of May 23-24 might be fun, or later, after the new moon of May 28, and go for as long as you like.
If you are an actor or artist, or are paid for your ideas, or support artists in a staff position, this new moon will help you in an outstanding way, for the same house as love rules creativity. It's time to present ideas, dear Aquarius! Don't wait too long! The new moon will be strongest May 29-31.
There is another reason not to dally. Mercury will go retrograde next month, June 7 to July 1, and you won't be able to get contracts done at that time. You need to make May your big month - not June!
Summary
Last month's eclipses were heavy-duty, and many signs felt the fallout. There were two eclipses, and the one that might have brought news about your home or family member was on April 28. If you just moved or found out you need to move, you will have many details on your agenda this May. If you are focused on a parent, you may have to do research to be of help, a process that may take time.
You may be undergoing massive changes to your career, too, but within days of the full moon, May 14, you will likely finalize your plan. You may be starting a prestigious new position, one that comes with much responsibility and power, as Saturn will play a very prominent role at this full moon. Saturn usually brings with it a weighty decision or commitment, so you may be thinking deeply and very long term. If you are moving, perhaps you are doing so to take advantage of job opportunities in a new city. Or, it may be that your new more lucrative position will allow you to upgrade your living situation.
If you are in a creative field, Neptune's presence at the full moon may bring on a plethora of ideas and an expansion of your imagination. If you don't work in a creative field and are due to change jobs, look closely to the compensation package offered. Define the items that are still outside the contract and left unsaid, as those nebulous areas might bring confusion and difficulty later if you don't cover those instances now.
The month's new moon on May 28 will be quite special, for it will give you ways to unwind from the many decisions you'll need to make this month. This new moon will allow you to fly far and wide, so spin your compass! You may want to choose a travel package - you will soon see you should not assume foreign travel is beyond your budget - you can find one that will be quite special. Read the fine print of any package you buy, and if taking a cruise, get travel insurance to protect your investment.
If you are an artist or in a creative business, an idea you generated recently will likely get attention now. You will be at the finest new moon of the year (May 28) to present an artistic, imaginative idea to influential people. Your ideas may now generate so much buzz that you get a good shot at getting the green light and funding to start it. Also, something you begin now may get you an award by year's end.
Travel will also help you meet a romantic new partner, or to rekindle love with a present partner.
