Gemini (May 21 - June 20)

Your December Horoscope by Susan Miller

Gemini Horoscope for December 2014

By Susan Miller

This month has welcome news! Saturn, which has plagued you with arduous work projects and also possible health concerns while he toured Scorpio, is now due to leave on December 23. Just about everyone will have something to celebrate with this news - you've had an intense time. Saturn first entered your workaday assignment sector (sixth house) in October 2012 and ever since, you may have found that assignments were taking longer to finish than you ever anticipated, and you may have also found they cost more to produce than you estimated. If you are a manager, you may have had problems hiring recruits to report to you, as the candidates you were seeing all seemed to have poor communication skills, even those with college degrees.

Many Gemini also had health concerns, also covered by the same sixth house. Your bones and teeth were especially vulnerable, as were Pluto-ruled parts of the body, including the reproductive organs and the large intestine. Almost immediately, within a few months of October 2012, you may have had to address some sort of health-related matter. You may have assumed you were fine, and while getting a routine checkup, the doctor may have pointed out something you needed to treat, much to your surprise. (This is just an example, but by now you know what I am referring to.) Saturn is notorious about bringing slow, methodical results, so for a while you may have felt the only people you saw regularly and talked to on the phone were not friends but all doctors and medical people.

Saturn demands attention - you cannot turn away from a matter that he brings to your attention. Chances are, if something did show up, you worked hard with your doctor to see it improve. If you needed physical therapy for a broken wrist, or to have a special annual test that you've avoided, you could no longer justify putting things off. Saturn might be tough, but he gets almost instant results. Now, Saturn is due to leave Scorpio on December 23 and you will see improvement in health and work-related projects nearly immediately.

In truth, Saturn will retrograde back to Scorpio, the thorny place he has been for two years, but only from June 14 to September 17 this year. This will only be a phase of thirteen weeks, and those weeks will go by quickly. You are not likely to be faced with anything new, but you will have to monitor work projects more closely at that time, and follow doctor's orders to the letter. You won't want to shake any trees to see if any coconuts fall out - with Saturn returning, he may show you a display of strength. Instead, toe the straight and narrow chalk line, and don't be tempted to step off it to see what happens. You don't want to know! Once you get to September 17, 2015, you will be free and clear, for Saturn will not be back to your sixth house, where it has been for so long, until the year 2041 - that's not a typo! Saturn will not come back to Scorpio and your sixth house for decades! You have much to celebrate.

Now Saturn will move to your commitment sector, so you will want to see your long-term relationship evolve into something more settled and stable. The full moon at the end of the first week, December 6, will be in Gemini 14 degrees. This suggests many Gemini will be getting engaged or married on that full moon, or making plans with their established partner for a future initiative. How exciting! Alternatively, you may be making a promise to a business partner (or two business partners, in separate businesses, for this full moon is in Gemini, the sign of twins or "two.")

This full moon December 6 will be an important one for you, for something dearly important to you is about to reach culmination and possibly full fruition. If your birthday falls within five days of June 4, you will feel this full moon with double strength. The same is true if you have a natal planet in Gemini, Libra, or Aquarius, or Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius at 14 degrees, plus or minus five degrees.

That full moon will be in lovely angle to Uranus, so something is about to surprise you in a good way - news will come out of left field. Uranus also rules invention, experimentation, and the digital world, so you may be working on a new product, software, app, or TV show, for network or the Internet. This full moon is well angled to your Sun, so the news should please you to your toes. Jupiter is within range too, so you may be planning a trip to take soon after this full moon arrives and be very exciting that you'll pack and go so soon.

There is further evidence you may be traveling, because the Sun and Uranus will make a very positive interaction on December 4, and on the same day. Get your suitcase out from under the bed, dear Gemini, for not only do you have this aspect, on the same day, Mars will move into your ninth house of long-distance travel too. There is so much evidence you will be hitting the road, as Mars will remain in Aquarius from December 4 to January 12.

Further, December 5 brings a link between Mercury, your ruler, and Uranus - a wonderful day for brainstorming and for generating brilliant, original ideas. It will also be a great day for spontaneous travel, public speaking, shopping, negotiation, writing, editing, proofing, doing research, and for writing code. This is one of your wonder days, sure to put a smile on your face.

The ninth house is a highly intellectual house that deals in the taking in of information and also the house where information is distributed. That's why the ninth house rules undergraduate and graduate work at the university. (Lower education, such as grade school and high school, is ruled by the third house.) If you are interested in being admitted to a certain prestigious college, you may be having many interviews on campus in December and early January. If you need to take an important qualifying exam or to defend a thesis, this would be the right month to take it.

The ancient astrologers felt international travel was a fine means to increase understanding of other cultures, the reason why they placed long-distance travel in the ninth house. Matters involving passports, immigration, visa, and green cards are also part of this house - this month through February would be the time to work on those matters.

If you work in publishing or broadcasting, you are likely to have success this month, so pay special attention to your projects as the ones you do now seem to have the ability to take you far. There is some indication you will also be conferring with your lawyer, perhaps to discuss a trademark or patent you are about to register, or to look over a contract. You can initiate a legal action now, too, if you like, for the planets will support you all the way. Just stay away from December 15, when Uranus and Pluto will be at odds - not the day to take action.

I have another manifestation of December 15 I would like to warn you about, as this is not likely to be your favorite day of the month. Lend no money to a friend on December 15 when Pluto will be at sharp and unfriendly odds with Uranus. No matter how this plays out, and despite the pressure your friend will put on you to help her out, know that if you cave in, you'll have to kiss that money goodbye. Maybe that is okay with you - if your heart goes out to her / him, and you care very much about her / his welfare, then do write that check. The new moon of December 21 will bring five out of ten heavenly bodies in the solar system to your eighth house, a financial house that I call the house of other people's money. You seem to be very busy doing year-end tax planning, paying bills, and sending out invoices to clients. You may cut a big money deal at this time, and be deep in talks over how to write the contract.

There are many possibilities so I will give you some examples. You may be dividing property in a divorce, and reaching a final agreement. You may see the finish to an inheritance, and be at the point where the paperwork is over and the funds being disbursed by a lawyer. You may be awarded venture capital now and appropriating the funds that you receive. You may be negotiating financial aid with your university or putting in paperwork to an insurance company. Large sums will be on your mind. Money appears to be pouring in, giving you a very prosperous end to 2014.

The eighth house is not only a financial house, but also the house of transformation, and as such, is also the house of surgery. (The surgeon transforms a body from sick to healthy when he removes the diseased part.) You may be getting ready for surgery in December, and that would explain why you might be on the phone with your health insurance company, to find out what is covered, and how much you would have to put out for a co-pay, if anything.

If you do need surgery, many people schedule it for holiday time, when the world goes quiet and there is little to no pressure from the office to perform tasks, at least for most people. (Not me! Deadlines keep rolling! If you work in publishing, the same may be true for you.) Many people like the ability of having the time to recoup in gentle, no-pressure atmosphere that the holidays provide. If you need surgery, and you trust your doctor, there is nothing to fear. If your doctor is urging you to take care of a health matter, then work with him to schedule the procedure.

Keep this in mind too. Mercury will go retrograde from January 21 to February 11, and because Mercury is your ruler, if you need an operation, I would prefer you schedule your surgery sooner rather than later. That is, in late December rather than mid-to-late January if your doctor agrees - he is boss here. (Here I am not speaking of elective plastic surgery that is not vital to do, but an operation that your doctor tells you that you need to improve your health and well-being.)

Speaking of travel, if you plan to go home for Christmas (if you celebrate the holiday), do not leave on December 24, for Mercury will be in hard angle to Uranus. Whether you drive, go by rail, or fly, you are likely to be sidelined by bad weather, increasing the likelihood that you would arrive very late or the next day, on Christmas Day. Give yourself more time than you think you need. December 24 would be a bad day to shop for holiday gifts too (or for anything else for that matter), as Mercury rules the buying and selling of all things and will be blocked by Uranus. You or your recipient will not enjoy your purchase or it won't function properly.

If you celebrate Christmas, you will have fun on this day. The moon will be in Aquarius - perfect for you - and there is likely to be some sort of electronic wrapped up under the tree with your name on it. Yay!

This New Year's Eve, with the transiting moon in Taurus, you are likely to want a peaceful, quiet, private evening to ring in the New Year - a dinner with a special someone, or even spent alone (if you have no one right now), cozy under the blankets as you watch TV. You need rest, and this New Year's Eve rest may be the very best gift you can give yourself. You will likely travel earlier in the month, so you won't lack excitement!

Summary

Many Gemini will be getting engaged for the holidays in December, thanks to a delicious full moon in Gemini, December 6, partnering with the Sun in your commitment sector. Simultaneously, a golden, shimmering triangle of pure harmony, all in compatible fire signs, will appear in the sky, linking Jupiter in Leo, giver of gifts, now in your travel and communication house; the Sun and your ruler; Mercury in Sagittarius, in your commitment house; and Uranus in Aries, planet of surprise, in your friendship sector, each at the most friendly angle possible to each other. All these areas of life will cooperate to create a beautiful holiday for you, filled with love, friendship, and possible travel - you can go near or far, and Mars will make your every wish its command. Venus, the love-me planet, will glide through your commitment sector until December 9, making this time extra special.

Already wed? You will snuggle closer to your mate, and design awe-inspiring travel to do now or later. If you have no special someone to commit to, you may well be forming a business relationship, a good time to do so.

Last month was likely an expensive month for you, due to Mars' tearing through your sector of credit and loans. Happily, Mars will move out of the sign that give you concern - Capricorn - and bring you a much more settled monetary outlook. Additionally, the exceptionally friendly new moon, December 21, should bring a generous year-end rise to your fortunes, in time to pay holiday credit cards, but with money left over for you, too. Year-end tax planning will pay off, so if your accountant is in town, huddle with her, and make a plan before the year is out.

If you need surgery, the house brimming with activity after December 21 may cause you to schedule a procedure. Many people schedule an operation at this time, to recuperate without pressure from work-related assignments.

Saturn, the teacher planet, has been in Scorpio for two years, since October 2012, and has given many Gemini health concerns of one kind or another. Now, on December 23, Saturn will make an exit from Scorpio and should bring relief or measurable improvement in the status of your health. Saturn will briefly re-enter Scorpio from June 14 to September 17, 2015, but it is unlikely that Saturn will kick up much dust in those thirteen weeks.

It is possible that if your doctor has suggested surgery, then there is a good chance that you will schedule necessary surgery this month, before the year is out. Many people find the days at year's end, when the world quiets down, a perfect time to have surgery, for the holidays allow private time for recuperation. With five planets in your surgery sector after December 21, you would be moved to get that procedure off your mind so that you can enter the New Year in top shape.

If traveling for the holiday, your outlook is bright. However, avoid being on the road on December 24, when your ruler and planet of journeys will clash with Uranus, planet of unexpected outcomes. Also on this day, when with family and friends, be careful how you word certain personal questions - someone may become easily offended. Your innocent question may cause hurt feelings, and a subsequent melt down. Be diplomatic.

A favorite long weekend for you will be December 12 when Mercury will be in sync with Jupiter, making travel, writing and speaking, possibly to a group, a joy. The following day, December 13, may bring loving words from your partner, taking your breath away. You have plenty of happy spots this month, and as you wind down to New Year's Eve, plans that allow for a private and cozy night will sound just right.

Dates to Note: GEMINI

Most important dates for love, meetings, or actions Gemini: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 19, 20-21, and 28.

December 4 should be a delight. You may travel suddenly and spontaneously to see a friend (or travel with a friend along). Or, alternatively, out of the blue, you may hear very good news about a publishing / broadcasting project that is earmarked for only you. This comes thanks to interplay between the Sun and Uranus. On the same day, Venus and Jupiter will be in sync, allowing romance and creativity to rule the day. On December 4 (or, alternatively, December 20) work on immigration matters, for you are likely to get impressive progress.

December 5 will be an important day too, when you will burst with ideas. Set aside time to brainstorm or experiment on a current project and you will stun everyone with your brilliant ideas. With Mercury, your ruler, in such divine angle to Uranus, just about anything you do on this day should go well.

Mars's move into Aquarius on December 4 through January 12, 2015, will likely cause you to travel a long distance. Or, you may be doing a major writing or other communication project for a company abroad, and be on email or phone quite a bit. Watch December 20 for this area of your life start to shine, thanks to a beam from Mars to Uranus. In a month where news keeps coming out of left field, you'll stay alert and motivated.

The full moon on December 6 will be in Gemini, so you will be at your best and brightest. Something of great importance will be coming to culmination within four days of this date.

On December 15, Uranus will be at odds with Pluto, not a day to start any new ventures - try to create distance from this day before acting.

On December 21, the new moon in Capricorn finds you doing savvy tax planning, sending out payments, and invoicing to clients. Alternatively, same new moon may be when you elect to have surgery, if your doctor recommends you do so this month.

Avoid travel on December 24, due to Mercury (travel) in hard angle to Uranus (unanticipated events). Give yourself more time than you think you need to travel.

Saturn in Scorpio may have brought health challenges to your attention over the two years since Saturn entered Scorpio (and your sixth house of health and work) in October 2012. Work projects were affected too, and may have taken more time and extra money to complete than you anticipated. Finding new recruits to hire proved to be challenging. Saturn is leaving this month on December 23, clearing up these type concerns almost immediately.

Saturn will retrograde back to Scorpio from June 14 to September 17, 2015, for thirteen weeks, but that time will go quickly. Once you reach September 17, you will say goodbye to Saturn in Scorpio - he will not be back until November 2041.

Do not travel over December 24 - leave more time if heading home. Bad weather may sideline you, and you may find yourself sitting in an airport for hours or in traffic. Even travel by rail is not suggested. Delays will proliferate.

Saturn will move into your marriage house, so if you have been dating and dream of having a commitment, after Saturn enters Sagittarius on December 23 for three years, it appears you and your partner will be ready to wed. This same energy can go into a business partnership instead.

For New Year's Eve, plan a small, intimate, elegant celebration at home with your romantic partner or closest friends. You won't be up to being with crowds. If you have no one to be with, realize there's no harm in watching TV while under cozy blankets at home that night. You will have lots of excitement earlier in the month, so you won't feel shortchanged. Your New Year will be a big improvement over 2014, and thank goodness for that!
