This will be a defining month. September has everything – two eclipses, September 1 and 16, a gorgeous new moon September 30 (one of the sweetest of the year), and the move of Jupiter to a completely new sign it’s not been in since autumn 2004 through autumn 2005. Also add in Mercury retrograde August 30 to September 22, and to top it off, the luckiest day of the year will arrive this month in the last week. There is so much for me to tell you, so let’s start at the top.

The month starts with a new moon solar eclipse, September 1, in Virgo at 9 degrees. A solar eclipse always falls on a new moon, but it’s a very special new moon, packed with the strength of three new moons rolled into one. We typically get four eclipses a year, and the last two came by March 8 and March 23. Eclipses almost always coincide with big life events, especially if it can trigger the degrees of a planet, Sun, or moon in your natal chart. Eclipses bring news and surprise, and almost always require adjustment, even to exciting news. Because astrology is highly mathematical, if your birthday falls on April 28 plus or minus four days, you will feel the new moon solar eclipse that is coming September 1, and chances are, you will love the changes that come up.

This eclipse on September 1 will light your fifth house of true love. Last year, in August, Jupiter entered this same area of your chart for a thirteen-month stay, and in that time, you may have met your one true love. If not, as Jupiter gets ready to leave September 9, the universe is bringing you another chance to find lasting love – and it’s a big one. Jupiter will conjoin Mercury, the ruler of Virgo and the ruler of your fifth house, so this is a big help. Even if you didn’t meet anyone yet, you might still. Your house of true love holds the Sun, new moon, Mercury, and Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck.

Jupiter will not be back for several decades, not until July 2029, for it takes Jupiter twelve years to circle the Sun. Having an eclipse in that house, with Jupiter there, is extraordinary. Eclipses are the most dramatic tool that the universe uses to create change. Be optimistic!

You may have a breathless romantic experience, but with Neptune opposed to the Sun and moon, try not to lose your cool. Neptune will make you highly idealistic, but you must not get carried away. With Neptune, we are tempted to blur reality. If you don’t know all facts concerning your new love, you will be tempted to fill in the blanks with those of your imagination.

If you are already with someone special, you may decide to get engaged, or even more likely, to have a baby, for the fifth house rules pregnancy, birth, and adoption. All eclipses bring a change in direction, and this one may summon the stork. If you already have your children, you may be doing something special for one or more of your children, such as sending one or more to a new school, finding ways to develop your child’s talents, or taking your children on a vacation that none of you will forget.

Pluto, the planet of transformational energy, will be in ideal angle to that new moon eclipse, and this represents powerful support. Pluto is in your ninth house of distant travel, so it’s possible that this eclipse will send you off to the airport to catch a flight to a city you’ve never seen, or to the university, because the ninth is the house of broadening experiences, and as such also rules of higher education. You may alternatively get good news about a court case, or news concerning a media project, as the producer or writer, or as the subject of one.

Saturn and Mars are in hard angle to the new moon eclipse, so you may have a meditation about money at this time. Something you will want to do will cost you more than you hoped, but I seem to think you will do it anyway and enjoy yourself.

As said earlier, if your birthday falls on April 30, you will feel the September 1 eclipse, but the same is true if you have Taurus rising at 9 degrees (plus or minus five degrees), or a natal planet in Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces at 9 degrees (plus or minus five degrees), you will absolutely feel this eclipse.

The following eclipse, September 16, will be a full moon lunar eclipse in Pisces, 24 degrees, setting off an important social event, for it will light your eleventh house of friendship, hopes, and wishes. Mars in your financial house will again pose an obstacle. It looks to be an expensive month, but you will have control over the spending – it seems to be a fun month, and in that case, well worth the amount you spend.

Now let’s backtrack to a bit earlier, September 9, when Jupiter, the planet of good fortune and happiness, will move from Virgo and into Libra, to stay thirteen months, until October 10, 2017. In the sixth house, Jupiter will have two bonuses for you. First, this is the very best place to have Jupiter to build a strong and healthy constitution. If you have a health concern in the coming year, you will have the very finest doctors to help you. Do your research – you can find the right one to help you. If you feel fine, then devote yourself to working out by joining a new, luxurious gym (it would be a lush one with Jupiter in your health sector), or get lessons on an exciting new sport.

I have found in my own empirical research that you can lose weight easily with Jupiter in the sixth house. This may be counterintuitive, for Jupiter is known to expand everything it touches. However, it is also true that Jupiter is the planet of magnificent healing – even of miracles. This year you can teach yourself to eat right without too many processed foods and lose weight.

Jupiter in your sixth house will have another lovely bonus. This house rules the day-to-day work assignments you do. If you are self-employed, all the right projects will come to you, and some of your assignments may require you travel long distances. Jupiter is associated with financial success, so you will likely be paid well too. If others employ you, you will be the one to get the most enviable assignments. Do a good job, and you will prove you are ready for more responsibility by the end of January or early February when your name will come up for a promotion (or for a new job from a competitor). The tools you use will likely be upgraded – that might mean a new computer and software – and if you have to hire help, you will find candidates that will be gems and contribute much to the overall effort.

You will see the power of Jupiter on the luckiest day of 2016, when Jupiter and the Sun will meet. Each year they choose another part of the sky to have their meeting about how to shower you with happiness and gifts, and this year, they will meet in Libra, for the first time since October 22, 2005.

On September 25-26, you will have the luckiest days of the year, and thanks to the Sun and Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, in Libra. Again, the theme of strengthening your health will come up. It would be an ideal day to have surgery, or to consult with a doctor. Join a beautiful gym (one that you would look forward to going to every day). Or, hire a trainer for a package of lessons, or take up a new sport.

September 26 will be special for starting a new job, or if self-employed, hearing you landed an important, prestigious new client. If you have a home office, reconfigure it for maximum productivity – get new lighting, toss out old files you no longer need, and bring in fresh flowers. It would also be an ideal day to buy a new computer, smart phone, or other tool or software to help you get your job done more efficiently. Take a client to lunch, or give a presentation. On these two days, the universe will smile on you!

Mercury will be retrograde from August 30 to September 1, in Virgo, so you will likely think back about a past love. If you hope to rekindle that relationship, this would be the right time to do so. Mercury will urge you to think about friends and perhaps a lover that you miss seeing. If you are so inclined, make the first move – go ahead, make the contact. I feel your friend, and possibly a long lost love, would be glad to hear from you.

Going back to the lovely aspects of this month, September will end on a very high note. The new moon (not an eclipse) in Libra on September 30 will be the sweetest one of all 2016. The theme that Jupiter in Libra is setting forth will again be emphasized. Again, all the things I just mentioned in terms of the luckiest day of the year will be emphasized, in terms of work, hiring people (at home or at work), and in terms of improving and strengthening your health. A new moon brings long-term gain, so your actions will have staying power, for this new moon may color and support the entire coming twelve months.

It is such a good time to take on new work projects, hire new people at work and at home, improve your work atmosphere, and to work harmoniously with team members and co-workers. The difference between the luckiest days of the year is that those two days, September 25-26, have an aura of a plus one day on either side (expending the goodness from September 24-27), but a new moon, such as the one September 30, has the power to create a much longer trend, one that can last up to a year.

As you get to September 30, take steps to get healthier and to improve the methods you use to do your job. You can become more organized and efficient and now make your office space cleaner and more inviting. In the coming twelve months, you will be very busy, with many new assignments coming in. You will need to be fit to have the stamina to carry the extra, but lucrative, work coming in. You will need a smoothly functioning office to be able to do the very best job you can do. Because the new moon is in Libra, you may decide to collaborate with a co-worker on a big project, and if so, that will go exceptionally well.

If you are looking for true love, this month true love may find you. You may be skeptical, but have faith, for this month the stars are aligning in a remarkable way. With good fortune Jupiter, newsy Mercury, mighty Sun, and a powerful new moon solar eclipse in Virgo on September 1, you couldn’t wish for a better cosmic support. With Jupiter precisely conjunct Mercury, you may hear good news, or travel in the coming days, and that is when Cupid is most likely to strike, if you are attached, to fan fires of love with your one special person.

This eclipse will allow your individuality and charms to come to the surface, and Jupiter, in a once-in-twelve-year tour of your true love sector, will give you the element of luck, of being at the right place at the right time and amping up your magnetism for all to see. If you are attached, you will have more loving attention from your mate, and if you like, a pregnancy or new baby may complete the picture. Eclipses are known to bring massive change, and for you, the eclipse will center on the area of your life devoted to true, enduring love and an optional, loving emphasis on children.

In terms of health and fitness, Jupiter, the great healer, will now move on September 9 to Libra and enter your sector of health for the coming thirteen months, a great boon to you if you should require a doctor’s care. Seek help – you may be surprised to hear of an advance in medicine that could bring you comfort, and possibly even a miracle or cure.

In your career, these same compatible planets in Virgo that will be at play in the first half of the month will also help you deliver many of the most creative ideas you’ve seen in ages. All these planets are in heavenly angle to your Sun, bringing out your individuality and causing certain VIPs to sit up and take notice. At the new moon, September 30, you’ll likely get a plum project, one that will be tailor made for your talents.

You will spend a lot of time thinking about finances throughout this month, for this will be a high-spending month, but if changing jobs, you will be able to negotiate a package of salary and generous benefits. If you are self-employed, ask your financial advisor to create ways for you to grow your savings. Mercury will be retrograde from August 30 to September 22, so make your final deal or choices in changes in your investment portfolio after Mercury turns direct in September’s last week.

Spend the last week of the month having fun traveling. Starting September 27 and remaining until November 9, you will have a chance to travel to sumptuous distant locations. Get ready by finding a durable, yet lightweight handsome piece of luggage. In those six weeks, it seems a sure thing that you’ll be going places.

When Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, enters Libra on September 9, he will remain in your sixth house of workaday projects until October 2017. Whether you work for others, or work for yourself, you will get more interesting assignments, and if you need to hire recruits when you have more business than you can easily handle, you will find superb candidates to hire who are qualified and who will support you.

Watch September 25-26, the luckiest days of the year for work assignments that pay exceedingly well to arrive. Good news about your health, fitness, or fine healing / recuperative powers will be the frosting on the cake.

The September 30 new moon will be just your cup of tea, helping you see more interesting assignments and allowing you to hire new people who will prove themselves to be smart, resourceful, and loyal to you. The steps you take quickly after this new moon arrives, in relation to your health and work, will prove to be wise steps and will have the power to change your life for the better for a year or more.  This new moon is a rare one – use it to your advantage.
