You had so much to do to boost your career in December, you must be entering January a little tired and wondering how you let the holiday get away from you. It was not your fault - many people were depending on you, and as ever, you pulled through. All that you did last month, and all the career victories you scored in December, will carry you forward all though 2016, dear Pisces. You are about to climb to a high point in your industry, for this year is due to be a very special professional phase for you, especially from March through September. Never feel all that work you did in December was for nothing or not much - soon you will be the envy of your friends. January will more than compensate for the high effort and high tension of deadlines and pressures that marked so many of the days of December.

You will start to see your social life pick up in a big way once you get to the new moon January 9, in Capricorn 19 degrees. You will be invited to lunches, drinks, afternoon tea, dinners, gatherings, parties, seminar or trade show, and other events. No matter what you choose to do, you will likely find yourself in the middle of a circle of very happy people who also happen to be quite successful and leaders in their own specialties. Your friends are apparently big thinkers, and they will inspire you to go for the gold. Clearly, they adore you, too, and they will want you to attend as many of their events as possible. The reason I am so excited by this new moon is that Jupiter, the great giver of luck and happiness, will be in ideal angle to this new moon - in fact, generous Jupiter will be within three tiny degrees of that new moon. That's a tight mathematical aspect, suggesting the benefits and fun will be very bountiful and noticeable.

The eleventh house, where all this action is located, rules humanitarian and charitable efforts, so someone may approach you to see if you would help with a certain charity or community project. Being a Pisces, you are highly sensitive to those who suffer, so if you do decide to help out, you'd have a lot to show for your efforts. The idea of leaving the world a better place is important to you. All sorts of groups are ruled by the eleventh house (where the new moon of January 9 will energize for two weeks), so you may want to consider putting in an application for membership of a social, charitable, or professional group that interests you.

All the socializing you will do this month will also have a very positive effect on your career. The place of the new moon and the bevy of planets surrounding the new moon, including Sun, Mercury, and Pluto, will all be in Capricorn. Capricorn's ruler is Saturn, and as of last September 2015, Saturn is now in your house of fame and honors, setting up a direct link between your rising professional status and the graceful, enjoyable socializing you will do this month.

If your birthday falls on March 9 or 10, plus or minus four days, you will benefit the most from this very social new moon of January 9. The same would be true if you have Pisces rising 19 degrees, or a natal planet in Pisces, Scorpio, or Cancer, Taurus, Virgo, or Capricorn, also at 19 degrees, and in all cases, a plus or minus five degrees.

One of your very favorite days of the month will be when Jupiter and the Sun align in perfect harmony, January 13. You may see an extraordinary kindness from your partner or spouse, or you may gain in a way your business partner, agent, manager, or other collaborator you work with for your business or job and their efforts will touch and amaze you. When Jupiter is involved, more money can't be far behind either. All in all, January 13 will be outstanding, so use it for key meetings with high-level people.

Venus, now in your tenth house of career until January 23 will make you quite popular with VIPs, those who report to you, clients, and the press. On January 12, Venus will be in ideal angle to surprise-a-minute Uranus, currently in a long visit to your second house of earned income. It seems that you will score some sort of victory on or near this date, and more money will suddenly land in your pocket. News will come out of the blue - it's such a lucky time for you.

You may travel this month too, as much as you like, and you may possibly go a long distance from your base. Mars is just about to enter your ninth house of travel on January 3 until March 5. Mars is the natural ruler of your solar second house of earned income, so it appears your work that you will do in another city will have a direct way of adding to your income. Mars' move into Scorpio will be good news on another score, for Mars will have left Libra, and for two months, Mars had forced up expenses - you may have been alarmed to see how fast money was leaving your bank account. Now that flow out will stop and even reverse, for January should be a prosperous month.

The ninth house also rules your interactions with foreign people and places, so those might show a big uptick in coming weeks. If you write for a living, overseas clients may ask you to do a cover story, for example. Or, if you do import-export, or do a lot of business with countries abroad, you will be very busy. Your imagination will show peak originality on January 18, when Mars will reach out to your ruler, and planet of dreams and creativity, Neptune. January 18 could prove to be mighty special.

Additionally, the same ninth house that will be so lit up by Mars from now to early March, also rules publishing, TV and radio broadcasting, and the Internet. You may be writing or producing quite a number of stories, or you may be giving interviews. As you see, you may be the writer / reporter / journalist, or the subject of an important story - or you may play both roles at some points in the coming two months.

You may be ready to wrap up an important job at the full moon in Leo, January 23. Leo is a fun sign, so even though you will work up to a deadline to get all your work done, you will be proud of what you do this month. The full moon seems to be a time of celebration, where you will enjoy a touch of luxury and pampering. It seems you may need to fly to a different city at this point in the month, and if this proves true for you, go to the airport early. With Mars in hard angle to this full moon, you may have delays on the highway getting to the airport, or weather delays at the airport gate. Either way, it's better to be there to keep getting news than home and feeling out of control. Also, all month, keep your health strong. You may become vulnerable to a heavy cold because you will be busy and not focusing on your health, not until you begin to feel run down, possibly near this full moon January 23. Don't let it go that far.

Mercury will retrograde in January, from January 5 to January 25. It would not be wise to sign a contact or to take a new position this month. The very fact that Mercury will be retrograde is a signal that priorities and conditions are rapidly changing, and no one will know what changes are afoot until later, after the dust has settled. It is also not a good time to buy electronic items, so hold off buying those, including a car or appliance too. Your judgment may be off, the item may not perform as you expect, or a newer model may come out soon after you purchase, making you disappointed. This is a month to plan, but not to act.

Your career has kept you hopping, and now you will start to see some of the impressive fruits of your labors. Finances have been up and down, but this month you will end on a high point. All your fears of running out of cash will prove unfounded, and if you are self-employed (as many Pisces prefer to be), you may now be able to exhale. (Watch for good financial news January 12 and 13.) You may see an increase in your regular paycheck or if self-employed, a rise in the volume of sales.
