Dear Pisces, you have been through a truly difficult month last month, for the full moon of April 10 may have brought you devastating sudden news, a most likely about money. Jupiter was nearby, so you likely put a bandage on the problem, but you are still picking up the pieces as you enter May. I am happy to tell you that May will be a much more positive, supportive month for you, and later in your report, I will give you specific dates and reasons you should be optimistic about your earning power as you move forward.
No doubt April was challenging. On top of that monstrous full moon, Mercury was not helping things by being retrograde from April 9 until now, but will turn direct on May 3. Mercury was in your second house of earned income, and being retrograde, it may have felt as though you kept seeing money go out, not come in. Payments due to you may have been late, or you may have been subject to accounting errors or having to deal with company or client budgetary cutbacks.
Venus was also retrograde, and through a twist of fate, Venus was the ruler of your eighth house of other people’s money, ruling taxes, insurance payouts, commissions, bonuses, royalties, licensing fees, divorce settlement, child support, credit cards, student loans and bank loans, mortgage, and so forth. Problems may have cropped up in this area too, so as you see, both your financial houses were under attack. Venus went direct on April 15, but all planets, including Venus and Mercury, need time to normalize their orbits when turning to direct.
Venus will be back to top form on May 18, and Mercury will be back to strong orbit on May 20. It is interesting that these dates fall so close to each other at the same time of the month.
You won’t have to wait that long to start actions if you have nothing pressing on the agenda. If you do, however, such as to open a new business, launch a new product, begin a new publicity or advertising campaign, or do something else that will be costly and vital to your future, you might want to wait. In terms of working on your appearance, if you hope to have new and untried dermatological treatments or to have plastic surgery, then wait until May 20 or choose any days beyond. If you want to buy an inexpensive electronic item, do so as early as May 7, but if you are buying a car, expensive computer, or costly smart phone, try to wait until May 20.
In terms of Venus, you can have a new haircut as soon as May 7, but if you are going into the operating room for plastic surgery, or trying an experimental dermatological treatment, by all means wait until Venus is in top form, May 18 and beyond. I particularly like July for you, because Venus will be in Taurus, a sign that blends well with yours, from June 6 to July 4.
As you begin the beautiful month of May, you may be thinking of a short trip you will be making soon, and putting the final details together before you go. Or, you may be thinking about a writing, speaking, editing, translation, or research project. The new moon of April 26 last month was in Taurus, 6 degrees, and started you to think about these topics. I say that because your third house of communication and travel was lit, and typically a new moon opens the door to at least one new opportunity.
As you begin the first week of May, normally it would be the right time to start a writing project, such as for a book, or to shape a monthly column for a new client; however, there may be a reason you would hold back a bit. You might want to browse for furniture, a rug, or mattress, or to make any other home-related purchase that you cannot wait to buy.

Truly, though, I adore the new moon in Gemini, 5 degrees, due on May 25, and to be influential for the 10 days that follow. This is when you will do best to finalize a deal, such as to buy a house, sell a house, sign a lease, or to help your parent in some substantial way. (The fourth house rules not only home, but your parent too, or a person you think of as a parent.)
This new moon may help you find ways to make your parent more comfortable. For example, you may be looking for a kind companion aide to live-in with your mother so she would not have to do laundry and cook any longer. Or you may want to choose an assisted living plan for her, or to locate a medical specialist who can help your father and who has impressive experience with your father’s condition. These are only three of many possible examples.
You may be asked to sign a contract this month, because your solar third house, which was so lit up for you at that new moon April 26 set certain legal moves in motion. Ideally, I would like you to sign after Mercury is fully direct, May 20 or beyond. If you cannot wait that long, wait as long as you can. In that case, my second choice would be at the full moon – May 10 will be a favorable day to make an agreement. I worry about Mercury in difficult angle to Neptune, however, so I do hope you can wait.
You can accomplish much, dear Pisces, at this time. Your luck is turning for the better, and you will see evidence of this as you get closer to the end of May, from May 20 onward.
I know you have been very concerned about money lately because Pisces and Virgo, in particular, were hit very hard by news at the full moon last month, April 10. Let’s look at days when the news about money is likely to be very upbeat for you.
The first day that I already discussed, May 12, is when Mars and Jupiter will be beautifully collaborative. Jupiter is in your house of other people’s money (eighth house), so you are likely to be met with a sympathetic banker who can give you a mortgage, line of credit, or loan. Finally, I want to give you more good news, news that spans a much more sustained period. Uranus has been transiting your solar second house of earned income for many years, ever since Uranus entered Aries on March 2010, retrograding back and forth to Pisces, but entered Aries to stay on March 11, 2011. Hosting Uranus, the planet of sudden surprise and chaos in your second house of income and savings, is no easy place to host such a heavy-duty planet. Since 2011 you have had dramatic ups and downs with money – some of them made you celebrate, and at other times financial news was scary. The good news involves two big-deal planets on the solar system. Saturn is the planet of stability, caution, structure, concentration, and persistence. Saturn is currently in your tenth hose of reputation, honors, awards, and achievement, and since December 2014, you have been tested in your career by Saturn. It seems you’ve been learning the ropes in a new area of your expertise. Your profile has been very high, so you had to do things correctly because it seems the industry was aware of your work.
Saturn will remain in this house until December 20, 2017, releasing you from Saturn’s constraints, and from then on you will feel liberated. Saturn relies on facts and figures – the kind the bean counters turn out – and in contrast, Uranus is supremely intuitive, independent, and at times a bit idiosyncratic.
This year Saturn and Uranus will work together to help you innovate. In fact, your success will come to you by looking at how you earn your income, and to note where your industry is heading. These two planets do not have to be in perfect mathematical alignment as they will be on May 18 to be helpful to you. You will have help all year from these two planets, all the way through December, because they move so very slowly. I know you had a tough time in April, and you may again near the new moon October 19 (plus ten days). Near October 19, stay away from making financial actions. If you got an extension for filing your 2016 tax return, pay what is owed much sooner in the next few months, but not in October. You want to avoid that new moon!
Remember the key to unlocking your financial luck is through being an innovator, and that might mean that high technology will be integrated into your plan. Uranus also rules humanitarian and charitable efforts, and so you may devise a way to help people who are suffering in society and who have been overlooked. You can build awareness to their plight, and be hailed as an innovator that way. I am trying to give you clues – only you can know the answer that fits you, dear Pisces. I do know that the smart money is betting on you, so keep your chin up and keep marching forward.

Additional, more important travel may come up mid-month, thanks to the full moon in Scorpio on May 10. This time, it will be an exciting distant trip that you will finish and return home within days of May 10. This trip will take you much farther afield than the quick short trip you may make at the start May or had done at the end of April.
At or near the full moon of May 10, you may go to a location that would require a passport for entry to the location that you visit. That full moon will light your ninth house of foreign people and places, so if you can’t travel, you may be on the phone and email quite a bit with companies abroad with whom you’ve formed a business relationship, and work on a project together. Publishing and broadcasting projects will be brilliant, court filings and decisions should go in your favor, and news from academic quarters should bring good news. If you are dealing with an immigration matter, it should wrap up and bring you favor on or within four days of May 10.
Throughout May, you will have as strong emphasis on your home and family. You may be cleaning, painting, or decluttering your home. Or you may move house, renovate, do a major remodeling or repair project, or find a new roommate that you are enthusiastic about welcoming to your home. You may build a wall, or take one down. Mars is currently in your home sector, making it a hub of activity, and bringing noise too. Certainly, there are a number of people walking in and out of your home now, possibly because you have workmen there, or alternatively, family visiting and staying over. If you need money to make your project move forward, see your banker, as you are likely to be approved for an attractive mortgage or home improvement loan.
The new moon, May 25, will advance your efforts to make your home comfortable. By then your research about whom to hire or where to move will be done, and your domestic project will be in full swing.
