You might already know that I love posting on Twitter (@AstrologyZone), and I am also on Facebook (Susan Miller’s Astrology Zone). What is new is that in December, I added Instagram to my regular social media posts (@Astrologyzone). I have been having fun reading your comments and seeing how the planets are influencing your life.  I had joined Instagram in 2012, but in intervening years I had not been posting there, but now I am enjoying going on Instagram almost every day.

This will be a very social month, but you will have to tend to relationships to keep them on an even keel. Friendships are a little like flowering houseplants. They make us happy to look at their cheerful blooms, but they do need water, sunshine, and maybe, from time to time, a little nurturing plant food. My point is, a friendship, or any relationship for that matter, does not grow entirely on its own without tender loving care. Once in a while we have to make an effort to nurture the relationship, and one of those times seems to come up this month.

You have Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, in your own sign until December 2 of this year, and that means you are currently the most favored of all signs for this is your Emerald Year. Yet the one thorny area that stubbornly continues to be an obstacle relates to a shortfall or tightness of your finances, but even that area will straighten out after December 2 when Jupiter moves out of Sagittarius and into Capricorn. When Jupiter, your ruler, enters your second house of earned income in December, to stay through 2020, you will be back in the money again. This means the seeds you are planting now are likely to bear great fruit, so you need to stick to your plan and work very hard for your harvest is coming.

Knowing money is coming next year, in 2020, may be good news, but this month, you still seem frustrated by the struggle of wanting to get to a comfortable state even though you feel you are not quite there.

A case in point will come up after the new moon in Aries, April 5, which will fall in your fifth house of truelove, which also rules fun, leisure activities, parties, and time with children. This new moon will fall in Aries, 15 degrees, and usually would be the best news ever. There is a glitch however—Saturn will be in hard angle, in tight, significant degree to the transiting Sun and new moon, and Saturn will be limiting what you can do. You will be asked, what’s important to you? What are your priorities?

You may be invited to a special event then but have a nagging concern about the cost of participating. It might be a friend’s wedding or a special chance to travel with a friend to countries you’ve never seen, for example, but either way, it would cost too much. You might be able to go if you can find ways to spend less. As I always say, there is more than one way to build a house.

I freely admit that sometimes it is not possible to get what you want when you want it. I remember when my children were small and I was paying, by myself, the cost of their clothes and all their care, including the cost of the New York City private schools for them. I didn’t go anywhere. Just recently I was thinking how I had not seen the inside of an airport for 16 years. Now I can! It was worth the sacrifice—it’s all about having priorities.

You may know my background. I had been seriously ill in the hospital for eleven months with multiple surgeries to correct a debilitating birth defect when I was 14. I needed to be homeschooled during that year, and for two years following that hospitalization. That’s because once home, I still had to do two years of difficult physical therapy at the hospital as an outpatient, every day, six hours a day, to learn how to walk again.

    Venus in Aries, your fifth house of true love, from April 20 to May  15 will be a lovely development, giving you hope for a fun social life. Do all you can to improve your appearance during that time, for you will enjoy the results and scoop up many compliments.

With the nerve damage I had in that leg, I had to outrun the choo-choo train so to speak—I had a limited amount of time to get the leg working again, and I had to work at breakneck speed. If I didn’t make progress fairly soon, it would never come. I do walk today, and the experience led me into astrology to find out if all that energy would lead to a happy ending. It did.

As you can imagine, I was obsessed with giving my children the best education possible because teaching myself high school was so grueling. I did have Little Mom’s help, and the Board of Education sent a kind teacher to our apartment for two hours a week to teach me advanced math. Later, I took the Regent exams of New York State and the PSAT and SAT exams, and I got into my favorite school, New York University, majoring in economics and marketing. I graduated with honors, so things did work out. But it was so hard!

It’s easy to see why my priority of giving my two children a great education in lower, middle, and high school as well as college had to come first. My ex-husband was not participating in the children’s support, so my two daughters were completely dependent on me. I paid their student loans for college in full too, and that took seven years. (My father, working hard for years, did that for my sister and me , so I though it only right to do the same for my children, and I’m glad I did.)

This month you may consciously decide to rank and perhaps reshuffle your priorities. If you have to give up something you want in favor of a top priority, my sympathies are with you, and I support you 100% for the courage of your convictions. The tight finances you feel now will be temporary—life next year will have a far better look and feel, and the year after that, 2021, will be even better. If you continue to work hard, you will arrive at quite a joyous place. You will have the money you need to be more comfortable starting in December, only a few months from now.

A new moon in the fifth house, as you will have on April 5, can be wonderful if you are hoping to date someone new. If you are a guy, again, you may worry about having the money to take your date out to dinner. I get it. Nowadays your partner may offer to split the check. You can also find small bistros with delicious food that will not break the bank. This month, it is true that you will need to be savvy about money when socializing.

The fifth house also rules conception. The most frequently asked question I get from readers has to do with their anxiety about having problems with conceiving a child. Difficulty with conception is reaching epic levels because women are having children later in life. If you are a woman reader, you might be thinking of freezing your eggs, a good idea, but it’s an expensive process. The sooner you do it, the better. If you need funds to make it happen, ask your parents for help with the cost. (In New York it costs $14,000 to freeze your eggs.) Your parents want grandchildren, so chances are they will try to help you.

In vitro fertilization costs even more (in New York City, it costs $25,000 because of the many doctor visits that are necessary throughout pregnancy—the medical staff will watch you closely). These are the possible types of meditations you will be having this month because your fifth house of children has a direct link to your second house of savings and income, and Saturn is acting in a predominant way there.

Still, there is hope. Saturn rules your solar second house of savings and salary and is within just one degree of ideal angle to Neptune in your fourth house of family (considered significant). Guess what? I see your family as a good source of help with the cost of having a child.

Are you shaking your head no, your family is not in a position to help you? It might be that you could put up your house as collateral for a bank loan to obtain the funds for the procedure you would need to have a baby. (Your physical home is also part of the fourth house of family and property.) Finally, some companies pay for these procedures as part of the health care they offer to attract good, loyal employees, but not all do, so it would be wise to check with your human resources department to find out if your company does offer financial assistance for this purpose.

If you already have children, the high cost of childcare may be on your mind, and you are possibly trying to figure out how to lower those costs. For example, you might be working with neighbors to watch your children while you work part time, and you in turn do the same for their children. Sending children to pre-kindergarten is expensive, but you may find the right school or even get some financial aid. Investigate what you might qualify for.

If your birthday falls on December 7, plus or minus four days, you will benefit the most from the new moon, April 5. The same is true if you have Sagittarius rising or the natal moon in Sagittarius, 15 degrees plus or minus five degrees.

The full moon on April 19 in Libra, 29 degrees, will likely bring on tensions, for this full moon will receive an unexpected and jarring opposition from Uranus. Additionally, the Sun will orbit next to Uranus in an out-of-sign conjunction, for Uranus will be at two degrees Taurus and the Sun, 29 degrees Aries—a space of a mere three degrees. A friend might act out of character, which will concern you deeply. Perhaps you will feel betrayed or wronged in some way. Alternatively, you may be active in a group or club, and the people leading the club may not treat you fairly and perhaps will be too demanding of you. Again, money appears to be center the conversation, but I am not entirely sure why. I do see that happening in your chart, however.

There is an opposite way this could turn out. Your friend may be given bad news, and she will turn to you for help. (The moon will be under siege by Uranus, so it’s a female friend.) If your friend comes to you, you will be moved to help, there will be no question of your sympathy for your friend. Keep your schedule light near April 19, for you won’t expect this development and may feel a little shaken at your friend’s troubles. She trusts you, so you will want to do all you can to bring her comfort, aid, and advice.

Although this full moon will be a jarring time of the month for most people, you seem to have an edge and will be able to avoid the direct thunder bolt of Uranus. Here is why: At the same time Uranus will be acting up, your ruling planet, Jupiter, at 24 degrees Sagittarius, will reach out to the Sun in Aries and to the full moon in Libra, both at 29 degrees, in a supremely positive, sparkling beam. I feel that despite initial news that may make you jittery, you can arrive at a satisfying final result with your friend or the group if you keep your wits about you. Jupiter is the planet of good fortune—and sometimes of miracles—and you will see the power of Jupiter within four days of April 19.

If your birthday falls on December 20-21, minus four days, you are most likely to notice the effects of this full moon, but you will find a way to sidestep the jarring parts of it. This full moon will be trine your Sun (divine harmony), which is the reason I say this. If you have 29 degrees Sagittarius rising or the natal moon at that degree, minus four degrees, in each case you, too, will benefit.

Only a few days later, April 22, Uranus will precisely conjunct the Sun in Taurus in your house of workaday assignments. Here you might get a new project, as you will experience a surprise on this day. Whatever happens won’t be something you were anticipating. You may find you must travel a far distance, or perhaps you’ll hear news about a publishing or broadcasting project. The topic of law, medicine, or academia instead might be the subject of your attention. With Uranus you can never tell which way things will go—things will come out of thin air.

Your progress in your career will speed up this month, for Mercury, which controls your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievements, was retrograde for almost all of last month but went direct on March 28. This means the delays you experienced will dissolve, and your professional progress will speed up now that you have made it to April.

I need to tell you this—never sign papers right after Mercury goes direct. Mercury, the clever little Wreck-It Ralph that he is, will be at his very worst at the bookend dates of his retrograde. Added to that, on April 1, Mercury will conjunct Neptune, which is wonderful for creative efforts and for the imaginative generation of ideas, but terrible for signing legally binding contracts.

Instead, plan to sign on April 6 when Mercury will have a friendly conversation with Saturn, producing a long-term relationship with another person. You can also do well the day prior, April 5, but I like Saturday, April 6, best.

When it comes to superb new assignments and new business, it will be hard to beat the news that comes in on your favorite days of the month, April 12-14. Jupiter, your ruler, will be in supreme (trine) alignment to the mighty Sun, making for a five-star day. These days are perfect for sending in a proposal, making a presentation, or traveling to a foreign city. Any new business that comes in mid-month will pay well, too. This day is so heavenly that romance will be special, and your creativity could reach new heights this weekend.

Romantically, as said earlier, near April 5, you might meet an exciting new romantic interest, if you can decide how to work with your financial constraints. Venus will go into your truelove sector, your fifth house, for the first time all year, from April 20 to May 15. That would be a great time to buy new clothes and find ways to improve your appearance. One of your most stunning days for love and romance will be when Venus receives a signal from Jupiter, next month, on May 9.

All month, Mars will be in Gemini, your opposite sign, so a partnership matter, in love or business, will likely be on your mind quite a bit. You may want to make the relationship official and move it to the next level, to get engaged or married, or in business to sign papers.

If this does not resonate, generally know that you won’t have complete control over any key relationship because with Mars opposite your Sun during all of April and through to May 15, this is your winter, so to speak ,because Mars has journeyed as far away from your native Sun as possible and will soon (in mid-May) start to loop around to come back to Sagittarius. In the meantime, you will now need the cooperation of others to move forward. Be kind and conciliatory, listen to what your partner has to say, and if you don’t agree, offer ideas of how to make things work better. Sagittarius can be blunt, but this month, it might be best if you are diplomatic.

Whether your are in a partnership in business or are in love, an engagement or marriage may take place during April or early May, for Mars will be now highlighting your seventh house of serious promises and commitment in partnership or collaboration matters. If you are dating seriously, you are likely thinking about getting engaged or married. If you are already married, you will want your partner to take the lead. This trend also makes it a good time to investigate making a new business alliance official by signing papers.

If you have no one special, the new moon of April 5 will bring you opportunity for that special, fateful meeting. Saturn will be in hard angle to the new moon, so concerns about money when participating in fun events might come up. Socializing can cost a pretty penny, but if you think cleverly about what you want to do, you may be able to circulate and still not break the bank

Don’t be overly anxious because at this new moon, Jupiter will be in the vicinity—close enough for the moon and Sun to benefit—and that means your socializing could add up to an important meeting or contact.

If you are attached, the new moon of April 5 might bring up a discussion about whether to have a baby now. Again, money becomes a consideration as you have Saturn, the taskmaster planet, in your financial house. Yet don’t overemphasize money because it appears your family will be sympathetic and might help you financially in the short-term if having a baby is your deep desire.

Next year will bring a financial bonanza from the work you are doing now, so while Saturn and Pluto in your financial house could act as a deterrent to family planning this month, both will receive beautiful vibrations from Venus, Neptune, and Mercury from your home and family sector. This aspect also suggests that if you were to move, you’d find beautiful new living quarters in addition to all the family support you could ever imagine, assuming you have a good relationship with your family. When it comes to love and children, anything is possible if you put your mind to it.

A friendship may give you pause over the full moon, April 19. That full moon will bring tensions to every person of every sign, for Uranus, the planet of unpredictability, will conjoin the Sun and oppose the moon in tight aspect. A female friend may do something that you never thought she’d be capable of doing, and you likely won’t be happy about it. Or, it may be that you are a member of a club but feel the chairperson or other official is putting much too much pressure on you.

Jupiter, your ruler, will be in mathematically perfect angle to that full moon, a blessing, for it will be in the most harmonious angle possible to that troublesome Sun and moon on April 19. It looks like you can get beyond this incident, and if so, you will be one of the few signs able to rise above the fray. You may forgive your friend, or you may end the friendship—that is up to you as there is no destiny at play ever in astrology.

Alternatively, your friend may suffer a serious life reversal or heartbreaking incident, and she will need your emotional support. In that case, you will likely want to come to her aid and stay with her through this jarring incident.

Venus in Aries, your fifth house of true love, from April 20 to May  15 will be a lovely development, giving you hope for a fun social life. Do all you can to improve your appearance during that time, for you will enjoy the results and scoop up many compliments. Venus only comes to your truelove sector once a year, so use this delicious phase as best you can!
