MLB teams never like to see their ace pitching in the WBC. There are injury risk
s, particularly with the event set so early in the year, during spring training,
 just as players are getting ready for the regular season. The Giants were appre
hensive about Webb’s participation — and they would have preferred he chose ot
herwise — but Webb is confident his Team USA duties will not be a problem.

MLB球隊向來不樂見自家王牌投手參加 WBC，這項賽事存在受傷風險，尤其是比賽時間點設
在年初、春訓期間，正值球員準備迎接例行賽之際，巨人隊對Webb 的參賽感到憂心——他
們其實更希望 Webb 不要參加——但 Webb 對自己為美國隊效力不會造成問題充滿信心




“I’m still going to get a couple starts in before I leave,” Webb said Saturda
y of his Cactus League schedule. “It’s the same build up that I’ve always don
e. I think there’s an intensity part of it that I’ve maybe amplified a little
bit, but it’s pretty much the same.”

Webb, asked during a media session Saturday before FanFest in San Ramon about hi
s talks with the team, said, “Obviously, they have their thoughts about it. I t
hink that’s known, but at the end of the day, it’s my decision.”

Webb 週六在聖拉蒙舉行的FanFest受訪，被問到他與球隊的溝通情況時表示：「很顯然，他
們對這件事有自己的想法，這大家都知道，但最終決定權還是在我自己」



Webb said he has been trying to approach the offseason “as normal as possible,
but I definitely know there’s going to be a little more adrenaline going into s
pringtime.” He already knows his WBC pitching schedule and while he couldn’t p
rovide details (that’s DeRosa’s job) he said he will not be facing the Giants
in Team USA’s exhibition game March 3 at Scottsdale Stadium.

Webb 表示，他一直試著讓自己的休賽季準備「盡量維持正常」，但他也很清楚，進入春訓
後腎上腺素一定會更高，他已經知道自己在WBC的登板日程，雖然無法透露細節（那是 DeRo
sa 的工作），但他確認，3 月 3 日美國隊在Scottsdale Stadium的熱身賽中，他不會對上
巨人隊
