【FILM CLUb】［電影短評］《獸》（Beast）：

每隔一陣子就會出現的動物驚悚片，比較主流的題材大致上是鯊魚、獅子、鱷魚、蜘蛛、蟒蛇這五隻抽籤輪著演，這次則輪到中選率相對最低的獅子來出頭。《獸》的劇情很好預測，哪位要角的便當味最重，你絕對聞得出來，連預告片都暗示得很明顯，但這類型應當做到的，它都有做到，娛樂性包準合格。

雖然導演說，他不想將《獸》裡的獅子設定得太大隻，避免讓觀眾覺得像在看《侏羅紀公園》之類的科幻片，但片中依舊有不少橋段容易被拿來和《侏羅紀公園》作聯想，只不過那並非科幻元素，而是純粹情節的設計很神似，如受困車內的小孩被獅子圍攻（暴龍初登場）、小孩在室內空間躲避獅子的搜索（迅猛龍入侵廚房）、最後的群獅互鬥（暴龍對決兩隻迅猛龍），均頗有既視感，伊卓瑞斯艾巴的女兒甚至還在片中穿了印有《侏羅紀公園》logo 的上衣。

《獸》的獅子不至於是只為製造殺戮而存在的扁平怪物角色，編劇至少還給了牠報復人類盜獵的動機，使牠的形象更豐富些。不過盜獵議題的描寫當然是點到為止，全片的重心始終還是放在親情戲，獅子和盜獵，最後都只是為了服務主角的救贖旅程，讓失和的父女重新互相珍惜。

比劇情更引人注目的，我想是導演選擇的長鏡頭拍法，他不只在荒野這樣拍，在安全的住宅裡也這樣拍，一般的對話戲也這樣拍，無論是否有動作場面，幾乎每段戲都至少會有一顆長鏡頭，看到後來，我都忍不住開始預測剪接點何時會出現，變成一種另類的觀影樂趣。

片尾字幕跑完後，赫然發現負責翻譯本片對白的譯者，剛巧就叫賴小「獅」。這可是在台灣才看得到的獨家隱藏片尾驚喜 ( XD
