從出土文物來看，台中這塊土地最早有人類活動是4000年前，居住地方包括現今台中公園、惠來遺址、中興大學等地，包含牛罵頭文化、營埔文化、番仔園文化，由遺物及遺跡證據，可知台中縣、市均經歷過新石器時代至鐵器時代，先民生計活動從採集游獵到農耕定居。

這批文物經送往美國做碳14分析，顯示年代約距今約4250年至3880年前。

【考古台灣：頂橋仔遺址】興大挖出千年遺址爭現地保存，最大特色是有完整的「土角厝」，挖掘到最早陶片、瓦片是1000多年前的「蕃仔園文化」。

中興大學校園內發現多處史前遺址，校方有意在校內增設「頂橋仔文化展示區」，但人文社會學院老師認為，應現址保存，而不是回填原址，另闢地點展出。其中「學生第二餐廳考古遺址」已完成試掘，最快11月底回填。

協助試掘的科博館人類學組主任屈慧麗說，興大第二學生餐廳發現文化遺址面積不大，僅70平方公尺，有距今1千至1百年前的人類生活遺跡，最大特色是有完整的「土角厝」，挖掘到最早陶片、瓦片是1000多年前的「蕃仔園文化」。

興大人文社會學院已邀東海建築、暨南大學觀光旅遊學系、台中教育大學文創學程老師會勘，據了解這個土角厝是南屯區楓樹里林姓子孫的祖厝。東海建築系教師凌天認為，興大遺址若能現地保存，是非常稀少的教學場域，面積不大，應可克服保存的難度。 屈慧麗指出，當初校方試掘進行到11月底，目前已完成「搶救保存」，出土文物暫放在科博館，也完成繪圖記錄，沒打算現地保存。

屈慧麗說，興大前身是台中農林學校，校地向農民徵地，早期開發是往上興建，文化層才會一直累積，最早可發現到1000年前的蕃仔園文化。 興大主任秘書陳吉仲說，是否現址保存還要討論，在國際農業研究中心的興建地點也挖出「頂橋仔遺址」，各單位都希望現址保存，現還在評估最適合地點與最佳保存方式。

這個年代已比中國的遠古傳說時代──三皇五帝──還早，而且已證實南島語族是由台灣為起源逐島遷移出去的，若是台灣第一批原住民是從大陸遷移來的，為什麼那些世界有名的科學家不直接指出大陸是南島語族的起源地呢？因此我們絕對否定台灣第一批原住民於距今六千年前由大陸遷移來的說法。

大陸最古老而具有現代人(智人)形態的發現，是在北京原人洞(北京原人仍非現代人)上方的「山頂洞人」，由其化石推測約為二萬五千至一萬年前的人類。但在台灣東部八仙洞的長濱文化有四萬到八千年前的史前文物和台南縣左鎮人的化石約在三萬至二萬年前之間，其年代比大陸的山頂洞人年代還早，因此台灣的先民若不是早於中國的祖先，至少是同時代同一蒙古人種繁衍來的。台灣的先民的歷史怎麼會只有六千年？甚至有人還說只有四百年呢！

[馬蔥] [讀] 今天讀了漫畫⟨蜉蝣之島⟩，是個世界觀非常龐大，雖然畫風的筆觸帶點潦草感，但是情感部分表現的十分細膩，讀完的心情很複雜，中途也稍微濕了眼角。故事的時間軸橫跨半個世紀，裡面的設定有一點蒸氣龐克混南島語族文化，非常迷人！推薦有喜歡這兩種類型的人一定要讀看看。

[學校] 上到了很有趣的一個毛利諺語「我們倒退著走向未來」

毛利語小知識-好奇找了「城」、「牆」的毛利語，發現「城」儘管有我們直覺認為的「保護」意味，居然還有「阻絕」甚至還有「困住」、「陷阱」的意思。

「牆」則有「瓦解」的意涵。

毛利語從來都不是一個線性思考的語言，在城牆建好的那一刻，他們就知道被城牆保護的同時也失去了一些自由，也預見未來有一天城牆會瓦解。

哪知開土挖，竟然像個人

那幾千個在智利 #復活島 上
挺胸站立的人頭雕像在經過
900 多年後被考古學家發現
泥土底下埋著完整的‘軀幹’

考古學家挖掘出 2 尊雕像，
完整的‘軀幹’竟高達 1000 公分

這些雕像是由當時復活島上的
居民用島上的石頭雕刻而成的。
考古學家推測他們是出於紀念
重要的祖先而製造這些石像

當時島上人下葬的的方式比
別的民族來得更‘沈重’。
他們會把自己的家人埋葬在這些
重於泰山的人形石像中間。
讓這些雕像像守護神一樣，
圍繞在長眠的死者身旁

「沙粒太多，埋得太深
現在看的，都剩上身」

一開始雕像的軀幹都外露在外面
但隨著時間推移，它們漸漸地被
大量的石頭、泥土及沈積物覆蓋

世界上最遠的距離不是生與死
而是想要抓癢的手被困在土裡
百轉千回卻沒人可以幫他抽身

其實東吉嶼地理位置在黑水溝澎湖水道附近，常常有出水化石，其中最為人所知的是澎湖原人，一口氣改寫亞洲直立人歷史，估計是在距今45萬至19萬年間，屬更新世中期，為舊石器時代早期人類，也是直立人在亞洲分布的最東緣。所以東吉古沉城代表的是海底文明，還是消失的古文明，甚至是自然景觀，都有待進一步考古查證，現東吉嶼已劃入南方四島國家公園，列入保護區範圍。
