The Stand is an epic post-apocalyptic dark fantasy novel written by American author Stephen King and first published in 1978 by Doubleday. The plot centers on a deadly pandemic of weaponized influenza and its aftermath, in which some of the few surviving humans gather into factions that are each led by a personification of either good or evil and seem fated to clash with each other.

King started writing the story in February 1975, seeking to create an epic in the spirit of The Lord of the Rings. The book was difficult for him to write because of the large number of characters and storylines. The novel marks the first appearance of Randall Flagg, King's recurring antagonist, whom King would reintroduce several times in his later writings.

However, other books in the Stephen King universe (such as Dreamcatcher and Hearts in Atlantis) imply that It may still be alive at the end of the story.

Though It was believed to be deceased by the end of the book and miniseries and It: Chapter 2, where It was killed, one of the first line in the book implies that Pennywise may have possibly survived. This seems likely as Pennywise is referenced to in a few of Stephen King's other novels. These could set up for another book, however, in a recent King Reddit QA, he claims he doesn't have any plans to write one.

* This would make Pennywise the only Stephen King villain to be still alive.

* One instance is in Tommyknockers (1987), when Tommy Jacklin goes to Derry on a supply run and thinks he sees a “clown with shiny silver dollar eyes” watching him from the sewers.

* Another instance is in Dreamcatcher (2001), when Mr. Gray sees the plaque meant to remember the victims of Derry when the water storage standpipe was destroyed. Spray painted over the plaque are the words "PENNYWISE LIVES".

* The book the movie is based upon was published in 1982 but takes place in 2025, the year this movie is being released. The original movie was released in 1987 and takes place in 2017.

* One of four Stephen King stories adapted into movies for 2025. One of the others is The Long Walk (2025). Both it and this film were originally written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman.

* Prior to developing this adaptation, Edgar Wright said on Twitter that The Running Man (1987) was the film that he most wanted to remake.

* One of the contestants shown early on is named "Charles Decker". Charles Decker is the protagonist of the Stephen King (as Richard Bachman) novella "Rage" which was published alongside "The Running Man" in early editions of "The Bachman Books". This story was left out of later editions as it featured a school shooting and King felt that it was too influential.

逃命遊戲The Running Man這次電影改編頗忠於原作

裡面玩了不少史蒂芬金的作品哏

有一段反抗軍藏身在緬因州的Derry（It）某處的1708號（1408房）

甚至主角個性被形容為憤怒、有活力，也是小說再版時的作者序中對自己的描述。
