The quake hit around 4.30am (AEST) and the epicentre was south of Yulara, a
township near Uluru and south-west of Alice Springs.

Beyonce Matthew, who was on the night shift at Sails In The Desert Hotel,
said some guests woke up to the rumbling.

"It was only for a few minutes," she told AAP.

"The doors were shaking, but nothing fell off the bookshelves."

She said it was a bit of a surprise.

"A few guests woke up and felt it."

The US Geological Survey said the quake was 77km south-southwest of Yulara
and registered the quake at a 5.5 magnitude.

There are no early reports of damage.

地震發生在凌晨4點30分左右（澳洲東部標準時間），震央位於尤拉拉鎮以南，該鎮位於
烏魯魯附近，愛麗絲泉西南方向。

在沙漠帆船酒店值夜班的碧昂絲· 馬修表示，一些客人被隆隆聲驚醒。

「只持續了幾分鐘，」她告訴澳洲聯合通訊社（AAP）。

「門在晃動，但書架上的東西沒有掉下來。」

她說，這有點出乎意料。

“一些客人被震醒了，感覺到了震動。”

美國地質調查局稱，震央位於尤拉拉西南偏南77公里處，震級5.5級。

目前尚無人員傷亡或財產損失的報告。
