Cancer Forecast for May 2015

You have been under a lot of pressure lately, and your need for freedom, especially in your career, will be strong. For too long you've felt tied down with obligations at home and in your career, for planets and the eclipses have been limiting your movements. You are ready to break free of those bonds of restriction to create a better quality of life. You have not had the time to nurture your private life so far this year, but this month that will change. May brings with it dazzling social and romantic opportunities.

The month starts out with a tender full moon in compatible Scorpio, 13 degrees, on May 3, shining in your fifth house of true love. Give May 3 a plus or minus four days, for within this time, you may experience a very romantic moment. You may be on a trip at this time, to a dazzling spot near a sea of jewel-like colors, as Neptune will be beautifully oriented to the full moon. Pluto will be friendly too, so a partner will be very supportive. Saturn, however, will oppose Mars, so it's possible that work you left at the office may tug at you, and you may need to do a little catch-up on the trip. Bring your computer - you'll feel better if you have it with you.

If you are in love, this full moon may bring a promise to be exclusive, or talk about getting engaged or married. Or, if you hope for a baby, a pregnancy may be confirmed. Also at this time, a creative project may reach now fruition, to much applause.

If your birthday falls on July 4, plus or minus four days, you will benefit most from this full moon in Scorpio. If you have your natal chart, take a look to see if you have a natal planet or rising sign at 13 degrees Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces, or within five degrees of that degree, in one of the signs listed, for you, too, will benefit.

Mercury will be retrograde from May 18 to June 11, so the second part of the month will bring delays. It's a good time to review what you have achieved over the past months of 2015 and decide if you'd like to make any changes in the road ahead. While Mercury is retrograde, be sure not to buy an electronic or an appliance item, or anything expensive and hard to return, such as furniture. It is not a good time to start anything new, including a new job, but if you need a job desperately, take it, with the aim to change again in the road up ahead. Any position you take now will not be as described, and you may not like what is revealed to you about your job description later.

It will be a good time to see clients and people from your past. It is fine to make plans together, for you would not be starting a new relationship during the difficult retrograde, but rather, continuing a relationship you started a long time ago. For example, if you work in sales, you would be wise to contact former clients who always trusted you, to see if you can generate more business. That would be a far better use of your time than to venture out in new territory for brand new clients.

Romantically, Venus will move into Cancer on May 7, to stay a month, until June 5, and this will be another sign of how sweet and romantic this month will be for you. Venus will bring out your charms and make you more magnetic. This would be a great time to browse your favorite shops and Internet sites for new clothes, and to see about freshening up your looks. If you want to attract love, it's always wise to improve the package you present.

One of your most romantic evenings will arrive on Friday, May 15, or Saturday, May 16, when Venus will waltz with dreamy Neptune across a star-studded sky. It will be the two most romantic evenings of the month. The moon will be in earth-sign Taurus, which goes so well with your water-sign Cancer, so the stage is set.

Taskmaster planet Saturn will edge back into Scorpio next month on June 14 to stay until September 17. You have had three years of Saturn in your love sector, and since October 2012 to December 2014, you may have had enforced separations from your sweetheart at no fault of your own. In that case, Saturn was testing the strength of your relationship and your determination to make it work. Conditions were difficult. Perhaps one of you had to do a lot of work-related travel or university study, making one of you unavailable. Or, geographically, you may have been in different cities in a long-distance relationship, or your partner may have not been divorced and available yet, keeping you in limbo. Some sort of limiting situation may now come up again at some point in those weeks between mid-June and mid-September.

If you are trying for conception of a baby, it may be better to wait until Saturn is gone from Scorpio, after September 17. Saturn will not be back for decades, until 2041. The fifth house of love is also the area of the chart that rules children, conception, birth, custody, and the care for children. During that time, you may have a concern related to conception or about one or more of your children, if not about someone you are dating.

If you are planning to do in vitro fertilization, an expensive process, see if you can time the procedure for later in the year, after Saturn moves on September 17.

Creative ventures come under the fifth house where Saturn will spend time next month, so a creative project may take more time or money than you estimated, but you will do it carefully and methodically. Saturn will be in Scorpio, a sign that blends well with yours, so this project could become quite a jewel in your crown, despite obstacles that come up.

Mars will still be in Taurus from May 1 to 10, a wonderful place for Mars to be, for during that time, you will have still another indication that it's time to kick up your heels. Those first ten days of May should be very lively, as Mars will light your eleventh house of people / events / parties / leisure / friendship and fun. That would be an ideal time to be on vacation or to give a party.

After May 11, life will become quiet. Perhaps you will feel tuckered out from all the socializing you will have done by then in April and early May. Until Mars tours Cancer on July 24 to August 8, the critical moment for you, you will need to do deep thinking about all you'd like to achieve while you have the most energetic, courageous, warrior planet at your side. The ancient astrologers always wrote about the need to think and to plan carefully before actions are taken.

More socializing will come up after the new moon, May 18. It will mark a time that will be a little less romantic, but with the possibility of seeing many friends. Saturn will oppose that new moon, so work obligations are likely to come in the way. You may feel a bit frustrated as you try to get out of the workplace at a decent hour, but get continually delayed. Or, it may be that you simply don't feel up to going out - Saturn has a way of making us all feel drained.

On May 22, the Sun and Saturn will be at 180-degree opposition, a day when you may feel the demands on you are overwhelming. You will need rest, so don't over pack your schedule. The Sun rules your finances, so you may be hit with an expense or experience a shortfall of cash for another reason. May 22 won't be anyone's favorite day, so don't schedule anything special for this day, whether personal or professional.

A VIP may offer criticism of you on May 22, but don't lose confidence. Use the feedback to your advantage, but be sure to discard the notion that you are doing nothing right. You are doing great - this older, experienced VIP is simply trying to help you make your performance better.

You have plenty to look forward to this month, dear Cancer! Enjoy the romantic and social elements of all the universe has in store for you! As said earlier, your best weekend will be May 15-16, and I will also add May 23-24 for relaxation, shopping, and fun. If you can't get away, then book a spa treatment in your favorite establishment.

Gentle Venus will go out of her way for you while in Cancer, May 7 to June 11. Use the front part of that trend, May 7 to May 15, to buy new clothes, and for my women readers, makeup, to transform into a new look. Save receipts - Mercury will retrograde by May 18 to June 11, and you may need to make an exchange. During this phase you might want to get an easy-to-keep, fun, young, fresh hairstyle, perfect for the coming season, that you can wash and wear. As an aside, do not buy an electronic item until mid-June for best results.

Your friendships will jazz up your life too, thanks to the new moon, May 18 in Taurus, that will put you in the middle of many new contacts and friends in weeks to come. You seem to have a mission attached to your reason for socializing, for Saturn will be prominent. At the same time, Neptune, the creative planet, often called the muse of inspiration, will bring joy and a touch of poetic beauty to the event you take in. You may take on the chairmanship or committee head this month and have plenty to show for your effort. If you instead decide to go to a trade show or conference, or attend an important sporting event, that, too, would be a fine idea. Mixing with others will be your ticket to personal growth. There is also the possibility that a friend is experiencing a crisis, and you will need to lend a hand.

Mercury will go retrograde May 18 to June 11. If you are intending to roll up your sleeves on an effort, you'd be best to go back to a group you've worked with before, or clients you know. You will have to allow for delays, late mail, and silly mistakes, so you will have to slow down to check for accuracy in all you do. Line up contingency plans. Mercury retrograde teaches us all flexibility and resourcefulness.

A day that may turn out to be especially trying for you, especially at work (but that will not affect your reputation or standing), will be May 22, for on that day, the Sun will be challenged by Saturn. You will be highly productive, but you may not know your own limits and come home overwrought and overtired. Since other people will likely feel the very same way, and perhaps especially cranky, try to avoid scheduling anything of vital importance for May 22. If you need a day for an important initiation, choose your best day, May 6, when Pluto will infuse bountiful energy to your Sun. You will feel like there's nothing you can't accomplish!

Carve out luxurious fun for the weekend of May 23-24, a time you'd enjoy a good respite from everyday cares. Consider ducking out of town, or if that's not impossible, staying in while you treat yourself to quiet time at a spa afternoon in your city.

The full moon of May 3 may mark a highpoint in your romantic life this year - this tender moon will light your fifth house of true love. It will also shine a light on the needs of one of your children, a pregnancy, or a creative project. Travel, fun, and leisure are also golden over this important weekend.

Venus in Cancer from May 7 to June 5 sounds the bell for you to pay attention to your looks. It'll be the time to socialize - be out and about.

A gorgeous weekend to travel near water: May 16-17, when Venus works closely with Neptune.

The new moon in Taurus, May 18, will advance your ability to let go and have fun. It will brighten your friendship sector and would also stimulate your ability to make new friends and contacts.

In the days that follow May 18, you may go to a conference or trade show. With Mercury retrograde, you may go back to a conference that you once attended and loved, and reconnect with people you know but not have seen in a long time.

Getting an accurate medical diagnosis on May 15 may prove impossible when Mars and Saturn are at odds.
