You have a big month in store, one where you can finally maneuver things to suit you. It will be an extraordinary month, for many planets are lining up in your sign, dear Capricorn.

The minute the month arrives, there is a full moon January 1 in Cancer, 12 degrees, lighting your house of marriage and serious commitments. I imagine many Capricorns were celebrating New Year’s Eve with an engagement or marriage. Full moons bring a culmination, and in this case, this full moon will light your relationship house. If you are single, you may promise to be exclusive if you are not ready for an engagement. Are you married? This sweet full moon can help you draw closer – share dreams for the New Year, and pick one that you can work on together.

All full moons have a plus or minus four days of influence, so I suppose it is possible that within days of this full moon, at the end of December or in early January, you will sign a business partner, agent, manager, lawyer, or other person who represents you. (Or, if you are the agent, for example, you might be signing a new talent.) This application seems less likely because this is New Year’s Day, but it is possible.

This full moon, January 1, is a positive one, receiving wonderful vibrations from Neptune, from your house of communication, which may spark your imagination and perhaps give you a yen to celebrate. It seems you recently were surrounded by your friends, or will be, during the first days of January.

If your birthday falls on January 1, or within four days of that date, you will enjoy all the benefits of the full moon. Keep in mind the full moon’s energies will extend until January 4. The same benefits will accrue to you if you have Capricorn rising, or the moon in Capricorn, 26 degrees. If you have a natal planet in Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn, Cancer, Scorpio, or Pisces at 26 degrees or within four degrees, before or after this degree, you too will benefit.

We have an extraordinarily rare aspect on Saturday, January 6, that you will enjoy on that day or one day earlier, on Friday, January 5, as the aspect builds to greater strength. Jupiter, the gift of gifts and luck, is in your friendship house and will be joined by Mars on this day. Every two years, we have this conjunction of these two planets, and they always meet in a different part of the chart. The last time this conjunction fell in your eleventh house of friendship, it was August 8, 1982, and the next time, after this month, will happen on November 25, 2053.

Use January 6 to arrange a big dinner of your friends in a favorite restaurant, or if you are up to it, give your party at home. Or, join a professional or social club, for if you send your application on this weekend, you will have benefits from the group that you will not have anticipated. You can also help a charity by doing a fundraiser, or you can delve into a new social media venue that you have not yet tried. When it comes to making friends or meeting new people, this is your time to act.

Jupiter entered your eleventh house of friendship / people / events last October 10, 2017, and Jupiter is set to stay until November 6, 2018. This means your friends are the luckiest part of your chart, more beneficial to you than professionals that you might hire.

For example, want to find a new apartment? Go to your friends for advice, for they will be better than a broker. Moved to a new location and want to find the right school for your child? Ask other mothers. Want to buy an appliance at the best price, possibly below retail? Friends will point you in the right direction Friends will give you job tips, send new clients to you, recommend a new doctor or lawyer, or send you the name of a new babysitter – your friends are pure gold to you these days.

Next, you have another wonder day coming up on Monday, January 8, when the Sun in Capricorn will be in ideal communication with Jupiter in Scorpio. This is another day when you will see how much your friends care about you, and how much they are willing to go out of their way to help you. If you belong to a group, the leaders of the group might be able to give you great advice. For example, if you are a writer and need to know more about copyright and trademarks for your website, your membership in your writer’s society will be valuable.

On the following day, January 9, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus will be in perfect sync, making this an ideal time again to see friends or to get a reference, introduction, or advice from a friend.

Venus will now be in Capricorn until January 17, so use some of the holiday gift certificates you were given to buy new clothes – this is your best time to do so. If you are a woman reader, try out new makeup colors, and if a man, search for new products that protect your skin. Anything you do to improve your appearance with Venus in Capricorn should please you. If you received a gift certificate for a massage or facial, too, by all means, indulge! It won’t do you any good sitting in your drawer!

Your big moment comes at the new moon January 16 in Capricorn 27 degrees, for at that time the world will see a buildup of six out of possible ten heavenly bodies in Capricorn. This will certainly put the emphasis on you, your desires, and future plans. You have the floor, and all the other little planets are standing in a circle waiting to hear what you have to say. It’s rare when you can voice your desires and not have to compromise to get what you want.

Jupiter and Mars will bring their gifts of luck and energy, respectively, to this new moon January 16 too, which is a big advantage, and again, you guessed it, your help comes through a friend.

At the same time, Uranus in Aries will not be happy that he was not invited to this Capricorn new moon party, and he will start to cause a ruckus on and after January 16. Uranus will be at a harsh 90-degree angle to the Sun, new moon, and Venus, so you can expect something to come up, most likely in your home area that will require you to give your concentrated attention. The problem will come up suddenly and out of left field and will likely concern your home – the physical space – or your family or person with whom you share your space.

You may need a sudden repair, or your roommate may announce she is moving out. Or, the space you wanted to buy and have bid on has been outbid by another buyer. The rental apartment you love was snapped up an hour ago when the new tenant offered the landlord a bonus.

Or, your mother or father may not feel well and you will need to help out by dropping everything and taking your parent to the doctor. A promotion you want may require a move, something you were not told when you entered talks with the executives about this new job. If you are going through a divorce, the demands of your soon-to-be ex concerning real estate might shock you.

It is futile to try to guess what unpredictable Uranus will do, for you can never tell. The entire purpose of Uranus is to make you adaptable, flexible, and resourceful, so whatever comes is always something you are not looking at as a possibility. Uranus rules your second house of money, so whatever does come up for your attention may cost you a considerable sum to fix. Because this is a new moon, it may take some time to sort out, as new moons set up a trend of six months.

Later in the month, on January 31, we will have a full moon lunar eclipse in Leo in your eighth house of other people’s money. This suggests that you will soon see an influx of cash. The money may emanate from a bonus, inheritance, new client if you are self-employed, commission, licensing fee, cash advance, or royalty – there are many possibilities. Lunar eclipses sometimes require you give up one source of income to get another one, so if that happens, don’t be too concerned – another is on the way.

Don’t sign papers at this eclipse – Mercury, the planet ruling contracts, will be at direct odds (a difficult square position) to Uranus, and if you sign you will build in Uranus’ volatility to the contract. Take your time and wait for a better time in February.

Think back to the eclipse of January 31, 1999, which happened 19 years ago. If you can recall that date, it may give you an idea of what may come up now. Every 19 years eclipses repeat in the same sign and mathematical degree. The other planets will have moved into different positions, but you still might get a clue of what might come up now.

We have been experiencing eclipses in Leo and Aquarius since February 10, 2017 last year, and they were followed by two eclipses August 7 an August 21. (Remember the glasses we all wore to look at the eclipse of the Sun last year? That was a solar eclipse in Leo, August 21.) Eclipses tend to be joined in spirit and topic, so think about the topics that came up then, and that you will need to continue, possibly now.

On another note, Mars will move out of your social friendship house on January 26, just before the eclipse occurs, and move into Sagittarius. Mars will be in a solitary and pensive area of your chart. If you typically work alone, in the way a writer, lab scientist, artist, or composer might do, you will like this trend, for you will be able to work in peace and be highly productive. This is considered a very creative part of the chart, so you will be able to come up with some impressive results.

If you have been working on a large project, such as a screenplay or product introduction, you will tweak the project and root out flaws. You will be ready to show it in mid-March.

Mars will remain in this private part of your chart from January 26 to March 17, at which time Mars will enter Capricorn for the first time in two years. When Mars is in Capricorn, he will be in your first house of personality and you will be moving at the speed of light. You certainly are starting 2018 with a bang!

Summary

This will be an extraordinary month for you. Heavenly bodies are migrating to your sign at a scale you’ve never seen, including the Sun, new moon, Venus, Mercury, Saturn, and Pluto in Capricorn on January 16. This is your chance to get things your way, dear Capricorn. We rarely see a buildup of six heavenly bodies like this, but on May 3, 2000, we did see seven planets align in a row in Taurus, but scientists tell us that we won’t ever see seven planets align again in our lifetime. We will see six, and that’s happening now on January 16.

How lucky are you to have six heavenly bodies, all in your sign! Certainly, with so many planets in Capricorn, plus a powerful Sun and new moon, your voice will be heard, and you will be anxious to get going on a plan that is dear to you in your personal or professional life.

The problem is that Uranus, the planet of unexpected developments, will sharply challenge the Sun and new moon, as well as Venus and to some degree, Pluto. Uranus is in the tail end of a long trek through your home and family sector, so again, something happening at home or in regard to family will become major distraction that you will need to address quickly and without warning.

Home has been a focus for you over months and years, and here again you will need to divide your attention between the needs of your private and public life. Everyone of every sign will feel tension mid-month, due to the placement and antics of Uranus. Don’t sign a contact in mid-to-late month, as you have a flawed aspect from Uranus that would be built into the venture.

Fortunately, active Mars and good fortune Jupiter will bring you help from a friend, a group, or community of people associated with you. This is the area where golden beams will be sent to your chart, so if you should find you have a dilemma on your hands, petition the advice of friends, casual contacts, acquaintances, and colleagues.

Let’s look back to earlier in the month when the full moon on January 1 will bring a close, serious relationship to fullness. You may have become engaged for New Year’s Eve, or made a promise to be exclusive to someone you are dating. If you are married, you might want to renew your vows, or choose a goal for 2018 that you’d like to work on together. Mars is friendly to this full moon, so it seems you were – or will in the first days of January – attend a party or other event that will draw many happy people together. It looks to be a lively event, so accept and enjoy being there.

January 6 and January 8 will be an extraordinary day for fun with friends, and for receiving a gift or favor from a friend who cares a great deal about you.

Venus will be in your sign, Capricorn, from the very start of the month, a trend that started December 24 and that will continue until January 17. During this period, plan to circulate, for you will be at your charming best. Women readers should consider getting new makeup and scheduling a fresh new hairstyle to start the New Year. Men and women might want to buy new clothes in early January – Venus will see to it that they are flattering.

The month will end with a full moon lunar eclipse in Leo on January 31. This full moon eclipse will bring a conclusion to an important financial matter. Again, don’t sign papers or give a verbal agreement, for Uranus and Mercury, planet of contracts, will be in direct opposition in another jarring aspect.

If you are in the process of getting a divorce or ending a business arrangement, this could prove to be a time when you will be talking about the final agreement. Give yourself a few days to make the final deal, and time to negotiate the best deal you can make with the help of your lawyer.

This month you do have the advantage because you have many planets in your sign. Don’t seem too aggressive to the other party, and you will find the other party will be more likely to be cooperative.
