You will be very centered on paying bills and doing taxes this month, almost to an obsession. Mars will move through your eighth house of other people’s money all month, a trend that started in March. Happily, Mars will be ready to leave on May 16 next month. If you feel that money is running out of your bank account at alarming rates, be cheered in knowing that your heavy check writing will abate, and you soon will feel more in control of your finances. It looks like you began planning for all that you are experiencing now back in January – there seems to be a connection between then and now, and it seems you might be going through a welcome or necessary transition. That would explain the high spending.

Financial news on April 2 may make you hesitate, and you may not immediately know how to handle the matter. On this day, Mars and Saturn will be conjunct, a meeting of fire (Mars) and ice (Saturn). Mars will make you want you to get moving forward, but Saturn will almost force you to slow down, with Saturn being the slower moving. The planets are sending mixed messages – stop, go, stop – but going slowly is the best way in the first half of April for several reasons.

On the positive side, Jupiter and Pluto will be in gorgeous angle to each other most of 2018 (until mid-September), and because Jupiter is in your workaday sector, and Pluto is in your other people’s money sector (running commissions, bonus, licensing fees, royalties, insurance payouts, scholarships, inheritance, prize winnings, and more), it looks like business will be brisk, and that your goods or services will be in high demand. Money will flow in, so you may be working on paying down such things as credit card balances, student loans, or taxes, as some examples. The amount you will see is likely to be generous, so be happy that I see good money coming in, even though outgo will be heavy, too.

Make your most decisive moves soon, with a plan to complete major business launches by mid-June. Jupiter and Pluto are the big money power planets, so these two can help you boost your financial outlook in a substantial way. You may have high expenses now, but you also have a masterful ability to be paid well, too. You can find a pipeline of money if you look for it. By mid-September, Jupiter and Pluto will spin off and not be as helpful as these two powerhouses are now. This is why I want you to be ready in mid-to-late month to assertively move forward on business ideas.

Mercury, your guardian planet (also called your ruler), will be retrograde this month until April 15. This is a holdover from last month, when Mercury first started to retrograde on March 22. Whenever you see Mercury is retrograde, you know the wind is changing direction. Until you can discern which way events are heading, you need to stand still and quietly observe events around you.

This is a fairly unknown side of Mercury – Mercury retrograde gives you a hint that conditions you assume will stay the same won’t, but be replaced with a new reality. If you sign a contract under Mercury retrograde, you will be signing your agreement based on present conditions, not rapidly shaping new conditions. That’s why you must hold off until later in the month to agree to any binding commitment.

You should not buy electronics until we get to late month – circle April 23 as your best day to shop for digital items. Also do not sign contracts until you get to April 23 too (my favorite day for you), for on that day, Mars will work closely with good fortune Jupiter, giving your agreement a great chance for profitable results.

You can do a number of things that are beneficial during Mercury retrograde. It is a great time to root out flaws in a previously done project, or to revisit clients who have always supported you but who you have not had time to meet with again. You can also get back to projects you wanted to pursue but had to shelve for lack of time.

The new moon on April 15 and days to follow might require you to trim some of your social plans. If so, this is only temporary. This may be the case for now, but now doesn’t mean forever.

This month, Mercury will retrograde in your friendship sector (eleventh house), so you may come in contact with one or two pals you’ve not seen in years. That is one of my favorite effects of Mercury retrograde in this part of the chart. Mercury and Saturn will still be at odds, however, so you may feel that spending on socializing is too expensive to do every night, but you can choose to do your favorite activities, and beg off the social invites that don’t excite you as much.

Now let’s talk about your plans to socialize and have fun this month. The new moon of April 15 will appear in your friendship house, and the Sun will conjunct Uranus and send a signal to the new moon, making it quite an electric and unusual time. Surprises will abound, so you may love the effects of this new moon on your off-hours life in the days that follow.

Pluto and Mars, however, will be in hard angle to that new moon. I know, I felt the same way – what is going on this month? Why all these obstacles? We just came through a fairly sunny February and March, so now we have to deal with a month of mixed aspects, with lucky breaks mixed in with roadblocks. Pluto will demand you meet all your financial obligations before you kick back and spend money such as on a vacation, or to give a party or participate in social events that might prove costly, such as going to a friend’s destination wedding. The new moon on April 15 and the days to follow might require you to trim some of your social plans. If so, this is only temporary. This may be for now, but now doesn’t mean forever.

Next, the full moon of April 29 in Scorpio will bring a medical matter or a work project to a peak. Full moons bring endings or closure. If you have not been feeling well, this full moon will likely bring you comfort, the end to the problem, a cure, or at the very least, a final diagnosis and a defined doctor’s plan for you. I love that Jupiter in Scorpio will be so beautifully oriented to Mars and Pluto in your eighth house of transformation – this will help you bounce back afterward if your doctor feels this is a possibility.

At the same time as this full moon, you have long-term, stabilizing Saturn in perfect harmony to the transitioning Sun, another wonderful aspect. Saturn gives hope you can find a way to nip your health problem in the bud. If you need surgery, you must rely on your doctor’s care for you. You have transiting Jupiter in your sixth house – the very finest place to find distinguished professionals who will understand your condition, and Jupiter only comes to this area of your chart every twelve years to stay a year. (Jupiter entered your sixth house on October 10, 2017 and will end November 8, 2018.) If you are not sure you are on board with your doctor’s plan, then go for a second opinion. No doctor worth his salt would be upset to hear you want a second opinion.

Although I have found that second opinions often (but not always) echo similar advice, you always pick up little interesting facts from each professional you speak to, and that can help you round out your understanding of your condition.

As mentioned, the sixth house also rules your work experience on a day-to-day level, so if you were interviewing for a job, you would find out if you got it within four days of April 29.

This full moon of April 29 will certainly energize your work life. Keep in mind that if you change jobs when your sixth house is active, as is the case now, you will get a job similar to the one you did before. If you want a step up to a position of greater responsibility and power, you would have to bring in the influence of tenth house. That will come into play at the full moon in Pisces on August 26, to light your solar tenth house of fame. Don’t be on vacation at that time! (The August 26new moon will be one of the best moments of 2018 for your career.)

Yet sometimes we don’t want a step up – you may have a new baby or have just moved to a new city, and the last thing you need is more responsibility. In that case, a job similar to your former job would be perfect. Or if you are out of work, a job similar to your previous one would work well – you know the job, and you know you can excel at it.

Finally, if you are currently employed, by the end of this month, near this full moon, April 29, you will finish up an important project at the end of April.

Romantically, you have great news – Venus will move into Gemini for the first and only time this year, from April 24 to May 19. Your charm and hypnotic qualities will be at an all-time high and your confidence will skyrocket, too. It’s definitely a time you would want to circulate. This is the most ideal time of the year for you to choose a new chic outfit for work, leisure, or evening – stock up! You will have a need for clothes for all three kinds of events!

This is also a superb time to find ways to improve your appearance. On or after April 24, book a spa treatment and a visit to the salon to have a cool new haircut. If you want to try Botox, teeth whitening, veneers, or any other way to give extra sparkle to your looks, this is the time to do. I won’t let you do anything later in the year when Venus (good looks) goes retrograde from October 5 to November 16.

I also won’t let you do anything to your appearance earlier, from June 26 to August 27, when Mar is retrograde. Mars rules sharp instruments the doctor uses (like needles, scalpel, and other tools that the doctor would use to work on you) – you would need a strong Mars for those procedures! You see why you must act now, while Venus tours Gemini, April 24 to May 19.

SUMMARY

Mercury is still retrograde, a holdover from last month, March 22, and will finish up this trend on April 15. This means during the first half of April, you will be occupied with redoing, reorganizing, redesigning, and generally going over work on your desk that you thought was finished, but still needs refinement. Delays will proliferate, so go with the flow. One bright note is that Mercury will retrograde in your friendship house, indicating you’ll likely see at least one dear friend or colleague who you’ve not seen in a long time, and it will be fun catching up.

As the month opens, the full moon of March 31 of last month will still be exerting a strong influence in your house of true love. You seem to want to mix and mingle, and celebrate your time off. You want to be fancy free, but Saturn and Mars in your financial house may be pressing on you, making you concerned about spending large amounts of money. That situation may curtail your socializing. It looks like simultaneously, you have ongoing financial obligations to address, so you may have to count your pennies. You are a master juggler, so see how you feel. The more important the social event, the greater your motivation will be to find the money to cover it.

If you are self-employed, business will be brisk, and if you work for others, you’ll find your new assignments will showcase your talents in a special way. New assignments this month could open the door for other better assignments. If you work in sales, it looks as though you are about to land a prestigious, profitable order. Jupiter will work with Pluto mid-month, from your projects and financial houses – this is a strong indication that you are close to a lucrative agreement.

This same collaboration of Jupiter and Pluto will help to boost your health. If you need medical advice, make your appointment for any time in the second half of April, but if the matter is urgent and cannot wait, I am splitting hairs here – in that case, go get help immediately.

If you were thinking you’d like to make new friends, your timing would be right on target. The new moon, April 15, would be a good time to join a new social or professional club or to get involved with a charity that needs a helping hand to build awareness and raise donations. With Uranus in the same area of your chart, you are likely to meet independent go-getters who are highly creative. You will achieve great personal growth from being open to making associations with new people. They will expose you to new thinking, so get out there and mingle.

The full moon on April 29 will require you finish a major project. If you need extra time, the most you’d be granted is four days. You may get publicity at this time, and be interviewed by the press on television, or if print or Internet, your photo is likely to be in the press for the entire world to see. This will come thanks to interplay between good fortune Jupiter and Neptune, planet of the silver image.

At month’s end Venus will enter Gemini, April 24 to May 19, heralding a new romantic cycle that will soon start up. At long last, Venus will help you have a better balance to your life. Get ready by shopping for beautiful new wardrobe items for the coming season, and for women readers, by choosing a pretty new makeup palette, suggested by your favorite stylist. Step out confidently – Venus will make sure you are noticed and attract admiring glances. One person may cause your spine to tingle romantically, so if that happens, start with a coffee and see where things go from there.
