‘Cultural genocide’: the shameful history of Canada’s residential schools – mapped

In May, Canadians were shocked at the discovery of the remains of 215 children at the site of a former school in British Columbia. The bodies belonged to Indigenous children, some believed to be as young as three years old, who went through Canada’s state-sponsored “residential school” system. The schools, scattered across the country, were aimed at eradicating the culture and languages of the country’s Indigenous populations.

The findings have brought the world’s renewed attention to this shameful chapter of Canadian history, left deep wounds in hundreds of communities and sparked fresh demands for justice aimed at the Canadian government and the churches that ran the schools for decades.

‘Lakota Nation vs. the United States’ Documentary Set By XTR With Jesse Short Bull Directing

Documentary studio XTR is in production on “Lakota Nation vs. the United States,” the first film to chronicle the Lakota Indians’ fight to reclaim control of the Black Hills. Oglala Sioux Jesse Short Bull and “MLK/FBI” editor Laura Tomaselli direct the feature documentary, with Benjamin Hedin producing.

“Lakota Nation vs. the United States” will investigate how the sacred land was stolen in violation of treaty agreements and feature interviews with Indigenous citizens.

All families with missing loved ones deserve answers. And all missing people deserve to have their stories told.

In North America, there is an epidemic of missing and murdered Indigenous people.

At least 710 Indigenous people, mostly girls, went missing in Wyoming from 2011 to 2020, according to a January report from the state's Missing and Murdered Indigenous People Task Force.

There is also an urgent crisis of missing Black women and girls. While this issue received some media attention in 2017, the crisis remains. An estimated 64,000-75,000 Black women and girls are currently missing in the U.S.

As we call for #JusticeForGabby, we also fight for a world in which all missing people get the justice they deserve, and a world in which all people can live and thrive free from violence.

我爸問說人種一樣不一樣，我說是不太一樣，但重點是文化不一樣

我爸就說台灣人跟中國人一樣

我說完全不一樣，除了漢人之外還有原住民，甚至阿拉伯人，我媽也說馬偕醫院的(林媽利)博士

我爸就在那邊說都是台獨在講的

我說喔，那統派也說台灣人是中國人 我爸就把所有人打成一個說大家都喜歡講對自己有利的、做宣傳方便自己統治

（明明宣傳這種事情在現在已經不只是政宣，還有反制假訊息與誤導）

我說中國可是連台灣原住民都說中國人，我爸說中國有統治過他們嗎，我說當然沒有，他才(難得)閉嘴（但之後一定又忘光）

而且我說統治過就可以叫○○人？那中國也被蒙古統治過啊，二戰淪陷區也被日本統治過啊。
