「優化」原本就在辭典裡是有項目的（但不確定新增的時間點），基本上就是「改善」、「改進」的同義詞。現在很多原本寫「改善」、「改進」，甚至「變更」的地方都變成「優化」。從組織文化上可想而知：「改善」之類的聽起來就是原本不好，所以改用「優化」聽起來比較好聽甚至有種好上加好的感覺。

總之就是沒救。應該說：語言學上有很多這種自欺欺人「雅稱」狀況，等到大家無感或是都知道意思的時候，大概就會出現另一個字了。沒記錯的話，印象中英文發展史上，有一段時間「死」是用法文的mort（之類的，總之可溯至拉丁語morse），之後為了避諱，所以改用英語本身的deth（→death）。

延續之前提到的：「最佳化」（optimization / optimisation）被用中國用語的「優化」*表示，這點就是不能接受。這跟「品質」（quality）跟著對岸稱「質量」（mass）或是「影片」（video）稱「視頻」（video frequency [一說是「頻」是「頻道」略詞後代用]）一樣，是根本不能接受的 = =

最佳化就是在現狀之內能做到最好，優化就是改善的另一個稱呼。

* 若沒記錯，optimization的中國翻譯原本是「最優化」（畢竟「優」、「佳」都有「好」［good］的意思」，但不知何時突然「最」不見了。少了一個「最」，其實意思差很多。

想到之前有講到華語的略語狀況，部分略語像是「日本雜誌」有人講「日雜」，就有人誤會是「日系雜貨」。
