I am excited to tell you about my two appearances, first in October at the New Life Expo on Saturday, October 27, in New York City, and then in Carlsbad, California where I am doing a full weekend of yoga and astrology from November 2-4, 2018. The month starts out with a new moon on October 8 in Libra, 15 degrees, lighting your house of other people’s money. You may be filing taxes or working on repaying part of what you owe for, say, a student loan or a mortgage. Your outlook for making a decent income is light-years better than it was, for you’ve had very challenging financial aspects since March 2011.

Indeed, these past seven years you were under trying financial aspects, for Uranus, the planet of all things unexpected, toured your second house of earned income and caused your finances to rock. At times you made more money than you ever saw before in your life, but you also were hit with huge expenses—bigger than any you had ever expected or experienced.

You learned how to bridge those difficult periods with contingency funds, through savings, by business loans from the bank, or through other sources, but it was not easy. Soon, Uranus will leave this house in March 2019, so you are near the end of this period.

This new moon in Libra on October 8 in your eighth house of other people’s money brings a very positive beam from Mars, the action planet. Mars is touring your behind-the-scenes twelfth sector, a confidential house, and you seem to be working on a creative project that is still secret. It looks like by mid-November you will be able to show your project to the world, or at the very least, will be allowed to talk about it enthusiastically, for it seems you have worked on this at least since May or even earlier.

Still there seems to be demands on your finances, due to Pluto in hard angle to the Sun and new moon. Someone powerful might be pressing you for money. This is a strange demand, for Pluto is found in your friendship sector. It may be that a friend is begging you to come to her destination wedding or lavish birthday party, but you may be concerned about making ends meet this month. Mars will help you quite a bit, so it’s not due to be anything like the tight spots that you have been in before.

A new moon in the eighth house could set off surgery, for this house is also the house of transformation. In this case, the surgeon takes away what you don’t need so that you can heal. With Mars in your twelfth house, considered a house of confinement, beautifully oriented to that new moon, this would be nothing to fear. Interview doctors (or dentists, as the case may be) and find the one who is perfect for you, whom you trust, and move ahead when you are ready. If it is not urgent, you can do it in December or January. The discussions about money I see at this time could be talks with your health insurance company.

Venus will go retrograde this month, from October 5 to November 16, which certainly has to be frustrating news to all of us earthlings. On the very day that Venus goes direct, Mercury is due to go retrograde again—November 16 to December 6. This is very ironic, because Mercury, Venus, and Mars are the three planets that spin closest to earth, and Mars and Mercury went retrograde in July and August, making progress nearly impossible, and now Venus shuts down. The universe does this when it thinks we are moving too fast—we have to slow down and think about what we are doing and improve relationships, projects, and perhaps refine our goals.

    The best part of the month may well happen on October 29, when Mercury conjuncts good-fortune Jupiter. It’s due to be a dazzling day for any communications-oriented project or for travel, especially if profit is the motive.

Venus rules love, beauty, fun, and money. Venus was always known to have gold coins in her hand or in her silk purse in the paintings you see by Old Masters in the museums. Venus is also associated with luxurious things, like exquisite designer clothes, expensive perfumes, flowers, and jewels. This is not the time, however, to buy such elegant things—wait until after December 6.

In term of love, this would not be the best time for you to start a romantic relationship. Venus rules affection, so don’t do anything earthshattering to formally bond your relationship from October 5 to November 16. For example, this is not the time to get engaged, for with Venus withholding her best powers, the relationship might cool in time.

Venus also rules your face and body, so this would be a bad time to schedule a session for Botox or fillers, a face-lift, breast augmentation, or any other plastic surgery. Don’t order cosmetic dentistry, or, if you are a woman, have your stylist dramatically change the way you wear your hair, such as to go from long to very short. If you are a woman, don’t change your hair color dramatically, such as from brunette to blonde. You can do regular grooming, of course, but I advise you not to do any experimental treatments. I have heard a number of horror stories from readers of what happened when their dermatologist offered a free treatment for an experimental treatment during Venus retrograde. Don’t do it!

In the Pisces chart, Venus rules your solar eighth house of other people’s money, so if anyone owes you money, it will be slow to come. If you are in your own business, send out gentle reminder invoices soon. If someone owes you child support or other money, you may not get it on time, so have a plan in place to cover obligations until the check comes in. I feel you will get it before year’s end—most likely after December 6—but it may be frustrating until you do.

Two days after this new moon is a difficult aspect, October 10, when Mercury is opposed to Uranus. Mercury rules both your living space and your partner, so you may get sudden difficult news from either. You may need to make a costly repair on your apartment or house, or you may suddenly not get along with your spouse, steady date, or a business partner or collaborator. With so much going on at once, you may wonder who to give your attention to first.

If you want to travel, go away while Venus in Scorpio receives shimmering vibrations from your ruling planet, Neptune, on October 19. This will be a Friday, so if you can be away on this day as part of a longer trip, perhaps one that starts Monday, October 15, you will be so glad to go. The inspiration and creativity you will feel on this day will be exciting and make you enthused to do more creative projects.

If you do travel, be back before the full moon of October 24. The full moon will fall in your third house of communication and travel and will be conjunct Uranus, so all kinds of unusual, unexpected things could come up. The news could be good, but it looks more likely to be adverse, but with Uranus, you never know. Uranus keeps us on our toes, always delivering news we would never think possible.

The full moon and Uranus will directly oppose the Sun and Venus, so that’s a lot of planetary heat and commotion. You may hear from your sister or brother, or possibly from a cousin, as this full moon could bring news. Don’t say anything controversial at this touchy full moon—your sibling could go to pieces in a full-fledged meltdown. Easy does it.

If you are charged with writing a report, manuscript, advertising copy, coding an app, preparing a speech, or refining a screenplay, you will be working very hard to get it done within four days of October 24.

The Sun, under direct siege, rules your work-a-day world, so keep your eye on a project, lest it go haywire and need to be coaxed back onto the rails. A team member may quit, and you may need to find a replacement quickly. You will also need to protect your heath and vitality as the same house, your sixth house, rules the measures you take to stay strong.

The best part of the month may well happen on October 29, when Mercury conjuncts good-fortune Jupiter. It’s due to be a dazzling day for any communications-oriented project or for travel, especially if profit is the motive. You will be getting along beautifully with your partner in love, or at work, and if you have to sign papers, this would be your ideal day to do so. I know Venus will still be retrograde, but Mercury conjunct Jupiter is a five-star day that overrides all others.

If you want to do something special for your living arrangements, such as to move or close on a house, October 29 is your day. If you need cash, you might want to rent out your spare room through Airbnb and find the deal works so well, you are back in the chips again.

The new moon of October 8 will be in your eighth house of other people’s money, so you seem focused on finding funds, and also meeting financial obligations. You may be talking to the bank about a loan, mortgage, or securing venture capital for an investment. If you had not filed your taxes yet for last year, you seem to be ready to file in early October.

As a Pisces, you have had years of jarring news about money, due to slow moving planets in all the wrong positions, but that long phase is over, and now that Uranus is on his way out of Aries, you are looking at a bright financial picture. Even if you don’t like what is happening financially in early October (not likely but possible), keep the faith, because strong and positive financial days are on the way.

You are very close to a career breakthrough, as benefic Jupiter will soon enter your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievements next month for a 13-month period. This is the first time in over a decade that you will have had Jupiter in your professional area of your solar chart. Your chance to stand in the spotlight is coming, for it seems all the hard work you have done is adding up to something big.

In the meantime you may be getting ready to take a short trip on October 10, but if so, you might encounter problems. Unpredictable Uranus will oppose the travel and communication planet Mercury, a tense day. If traveling then, have your car checked by a mechanic before heading out. It might be best to delay travel on this day.

You may try to travel over the full moon, October 24, but with Uranus opposed to the Sun, at the last minute you might not feel well, so take good care of your health as you get close to this full moon. Alternatively, you might have a great deal of last minute work to do and wonder if it is even remotely possible to go. Or, this full moon on October 24 might find you are wrapping up a media project (in publishing or broadcasting) at the last minute, because an inaccuracy or error you find could cause you to take precious time to backtrack.

A wonderful day to be on the road or working on an international project will be October 29, one of the best days of the season, for Jupiter and Mercury will conjoin. If you were asked to sign important papers this month, this would be your five-star day to do so. If the deal involves work, profits will result.

In love, Venus will be retrograde from October 5 to November 16, so this is not the right time to socialize in the hopes of finding someone new. A much better time will be in two months, from December 6 to January 6, when Venus will still be in Scorpio and moving in a speedy direction. Mercury will also be moving in the right direction too, boosting communication. Most importantly, Mars will move into Pisces on November 15 and will be in your sign through all of December. Mars will make you more attractive, confident, and looking like the cool girl or guy. You will be all set at holiday time: magnetic, memorable, and ready to be the sparkling star at parties.
