Dear readers,
I feel we all live in our heads so much of the time that when we are faced with a circumstance that forces us to acknowledge that we really do have a body to care for, it sometimes comes as a bit of shock. I suppose if you are an athlete and reading this, you are laughing at me. It’s true, as an astrologer and a writer, I spend most of my days thinking.
When I was wheeled to the outside of the operating room on the morning of June 12, wearing the special blue paper surgical gown and shower cap to cover my hair, it occurred to me that some things in life have to be faced straightforwardly, and gone through by ourselves without help. I feel these experiences make us stronger and also more compassionate of others.
Yet, then I thought about how lucky I was – so many of you, dear readers, said you would send a prayer for me when I posted on Twitter and Facebook that I was about to have an operation. You responded so warmly, far beyond my expectations, and it made my heart swell. Thank you so much.

Your Horoscope by Susan Miller
You seem to be gearing up for a major career move in December, as well as readying your professional strategy for an exciting 2019. The projects you are preparing now will be seen by others later. You seem to have become a little hermit lately, closeting yourself within and burning the midnight oil in anticipation of all that you will unveil later in the year. Your hard work will be worth the long hours you are putting in to your project now, dear Pisces. There is a big reason I say that.
Once you get to late November, your career will gently start to heat up. Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck, will move into Sagittarius on November 8 and light your tenth house of honors, awards, and achievement. This will be the first time since November 2006-December 2007 and before that, since December 1994-December 1995. Those were brilliant years for your career if you reached for a big goal. You are coming up on another big chance to grab the golden career prize and working with the confidence you are about to become quite successful very soon. You are starting an entirely new career chapter, and you are so close to victory.
Also in November 15 through December 30, Mars, the energy planet, will move into Pisces for the first time in two years, and you will be the most favored sign to make happy, exciting headline news. Mars will make you assertive, and as you see, in July and August, Mars will be weak, but by December, Mars will be healthy and robust and ready to take you where you need to be in your industry. You are about to start a new cycle that will carry you two years or more, possibly forever, into the future, and it all looks very, very bright.
Mars, the planet that is about action, first went into Aquarius, the sign it is touring now, on May 16. This Red Planet’s job is to give you determination, courage, energy, and drive. This planet teaches how to win in any competitive situation by firing up your passion and ability to persevere through any obstacles. This planet will give you the confidence to resist taking “no” for an answer.
Mars in your twelfth house, where it is now, has been stimulating your imagination to a high degree, so take your dreams and ideas seriously. Capture your inspirations as they come to mind by writing them in a journal. I read something fascinating recently that I would like to share with you. According to the New York Times, April 30, 2018, by Suzanne Baruch Asherson, the part of the brain that rules cursive handwriting is linked to improved brain development in mastering thinking, language, and memory. Ms. Baruch-Asherson continued, writing, “Cursive handwriting stimulates the brain synapses and synchronicity between the left and right hemispheres areas that are not stimulated by typing or printing (by hand).” Uranus, planet of innovation, disruption, surprise, creativity and even genius, is now in your house of thinking, speaking, writing, translating, and commerce, along with other communication arts, so I thought this research may interest you.
Turning back to your report for July, you need to know that energy planet Mars went retrograde last month on June 26, to stay out of phase until August 27. As you see, Mars is now in weak, debilitated condition. This could mean that you are entering into a more advanced stage on the project where you may be getting more specific about the details. Mars retrograde will ask you to tweak the project to make it more polished and to challenge your own assumptions to be sure your plan is sound. You may be having many meetings with your team in July and August to plot out what comes next. Mars retrograde means Mars is napping, so be happy with slow progress, and sometimes you might feel like you are taking three steps forward and two steps back.
To add to the month’s slow pace, Mars’ brother, Mercury, will also go retrograde, this month from July 25 to August 18. You can readily see that this is no time to launch a new project – you are not ready yet, and have more work to do on it. You can launch in September, when both Mars and Mercury will be moving direct, or at your very best time to make your mark in the world, in December, after December 6.
I might as well tell you why November has some less than stellar aspects, due to Venus being retrograde October 5 to November 16. Venus is important to watch for several reasons. If you have a product or service that is being directed toward women, you should not debut it when Venus is retrograde. Venus rules women’s interests. It’s not the best time to begin a new romantic relationship either, for the affection and warmth of the relationship may soon cool. Further, Venus rules Libra, and Libra is found on the cusp of your eighth house of other people’s money – loans, bank lines of credit, commissions, fees, venture capital, and personal income like child support.
An important solar eclipse will occur on July 12, in Cancer, 21 degrees. This should be a sensationally favorable eclipse for you. Watch what happens after this date appears, for in the days that follow, you may see opportunities in love and for creative expression sprouting up like wild flowers.
On the very day Venus goes direct, November 16, Mercury will retrograde again, from November 16 to December 6. This is why I say launch in December after Mercury goes direct December 6 or later if possible.
If you cannot wait until December to launch your new enterprise, do so in September. If November really is best for you, then launch on the luckiest days of the year, when good fortune Jupiter will conjunct the Sun on November 25-26. Each year, they meet in a different part of the sky. The last time they met in Sagittarius, it was December 18, 1995, as it skipped doing so in 2007 when it should have happened – Jupiter and the Sun instead met in early degrees of Capricorn. This makes the coming conjunction of Jupiter and the Sun on November 25-26 even more important for you for professional interests.
Going back to July and August, keep in mind that any retrograde planet will ask you to rethink, reexamine, revisit, redo the project or the relationship you are thinking about during the retrograde. It’s never wise to start a new venture when Mars or Mercury is retrograde, for if you do, the birth of your venture will have that sleepy, lackadaisical Mars built into the DNA of your new venture. Mars will always be retrograde for the term of your new venture. (This does not pertain to babies born – it is always good to be born! This is part of horary astrology, the branch where we choose the best time to act.) Mercury, Mars, and Venus are the three planets that orbit closest to earth – those are the one we feel more dramatically the effects of retrograde.
As you enter July, you have a sensational aspect, July 5, when the Sun and Jupiter will be in exceptional harmony. Jupiter these days is in Scorpio, a water sign like your sign, and is in your ninth house. So much of what is golden for you is happening at a distance from you, overseas or on a very distant coast. The Sun is in your house of romance, love, fun, and enjoyment of children. Love seems to be in the air, so by all means if you were single, this would be the day to circulate or schedule a first date.
This day, July 5, will also be a day when your creative ideas are likely to be accepted and applauded. It’s an astounding day that could change the direction of your career. If you are an actor, audition on this day, or shoot a particularly difficult scene on this day and the director will laud your effort. Additionally, Jupiter is in your ninth house, so July 5 would be a fabulous day to send in written work to your publisher, to pitch an agent, or to offer a TV idea to your chief. It’s also a great day to shoot a pilot that will be refined more before you go public.
Now let’s turn to the two eclipses of the month. The first one, a solar eclipse, which is what I call a super-duper new moon on steroids, will occur on July 12, in Cancer, 21 degrees. This should be a sensationally favorable eclipse for you.
Watch what happens after this date appears, for in the days that follow, you may see opportunities in love and for creative expression sprouting up like wild flowers. You will need to have your cell phone powered up for incoming texts and calls that come in, and keep your computer near to read emails that flow in.
There is one difficult aspect associated with this eclipse, and that is Pluto will be in direct mathematical opposition to the Sun and new moon solar eclipse. Pluto can be a domineering, difficult 800 lb. gorilla in this aspect, so with Pluto in your friendship house, he will direct his harsh vibes to the Sun and moon luminaries in your house of true love. Someone seems to be coming on strong – most likely a friend – dictating the course of a creative project, and you won’t appreciate the heavy handed approach this person is taking with you.
Alternatively a friend may not like the person you are dating, and say so, or criticize how you are parenting your child. Any of these instances that I gave you as examples would be hard to swallow. However, the good news is that Pluto is presently in Capricorn in harmony with your natal Pisces Sun, especially if your birthday falls near March 11.
This eclipse, in Cancer 21 degrees, will open a new path for you in terms of love or pregnancy (yours or a family member’s), increase your fun time with children, and bring in more creative projects, not only now but also for months to come. If your birthday falls near March 11, plus or minus five days, this vibration will speak directly to you, but all Pisces should have something to cheer about.
There will be two golden triangles associated with the July 12 eclipse – TWO! I cannot remember a time when I saw two golden triangles appear on the same day at the same time. Golden triangles require three or more planets to move into the formation of a triangle, with 120 degrees on each side, an aspect considered heavenly, the best you can get. To have this happen, each planet must be within a very tight mathematical degree in the sky to be to be able to boost each other’s gifts. This is like finding a needle in a haystack, but you have this now, this month!
The first triangle, which will have the Sun and new moon eclipse at one point of the triangle in your house of true love, will receive dazzling rays from Jupiter in the ninth house of travel, ventures related to publishing, broadcasting, legal matters, and those related to academia, as well as benefits from international relationships and trade of ideas, goods, and services. (Look over this list – it is unlikely all areas that I listed will glow for you, but one or two might!)
Neptune is currently traveling in your sign, Pisces, a wonderful indication of how imaginative you are these days, and Neptune will be speaking directly to Jupiter and the eclipses. You may find you are on the radio or in an important article about you, because it is very likely people will know your face. (Neptune rules the silver image, of you!) All these areas are so fantastic for you. It really does not get any better than this, dear Pisces.
Jupiter is your ancient ruler, and Neptune is your modern ruler, and astrologers look at both when deciding on your outlook. In those rare years when Jupiter and Neptune are supporting one another so flawlessly like now (Jupiter in Scorpio, and Neptune in the other water sign it rules, Pisces), you do exceedingly well.
The second golden triangle will link Saturn in your house of friendship, suggesting an older, experienced, and mature person who you think of as a friend may be very instrumental in your success in July. Saturn will beam rays to Venus in your partnership sector, so a partner will hold the keys to your progress – for example, that could be your agent, manager, lawyer, publicist, voice coach, writing partner, or other intermediary will be an important part of the team.
Finally both Saturn in Capricorn and Venus in Vigo will beam to Uranus in Taurus, creating that perfect triangle, and because Uranus is in your house associated with writing, speaking, negotiating, and communicating, all the communication arts will likely bring very positive results for you.
As you see, you have so much going for you at the July 12 eclipse. You are looking at a cornucopia of cosmic gifts, dear Pisces.
Now let’s look at the other event, a lunar full moon eclipse July 27, in Aquarius, 5 degrees. This eclipse will light in your twelfth house of secrets, so a pile of information that someone withheld from you will come out, and when it does, it will be about something you are not expecting. Uranus will be in hard angle to that full moon, and that’s even more problematic because this is an eclipse in Aquarius, and Uranus rules Aquarius. If you have a secret you want to hold back from others, be very careful this month – eclipses have a way of exposing all truths to the glaring light of day.
Uranus is in your communication sector (third house), so some sort of unexpected event is likely to revolve around something you say or write – and becomes the problematic. Be careful what you post on social media, especially near this eclipse, and if you are a guest on TV or radio, be careful what you say. Alternatively, Uranus rules all things that are newly invented, especially related to high tech and the digital world, so you could lose data. Be sure to back up your computer well before July 27.
The third house also rules travel, but this would be a dreadful time to be on the road. Stay home and wait for better days in August (or leave in early July).
The way Uranus works is that it sends sudden, sometimes shocking news that comes out of the blue and that is completely unexpected. You can try to guess what might come up, but with Uranus, you will usually be wrong – it is always what you are not looking at and that you never in a million years considered.
Uranus is in your third house, so you also have to factor in that something may occur with or about your sister, brother, or cousin. I am not sure if you will be upset with your relative, or want to help your relative over news that surfaces.

SUMMARY
At the end of June last month, you may be alerted to the suffering of a close friend who is going through a difficult patch and needs your sympathetic response. The full moon of last month, June 27, appeared just days prior to the beginning of July, so as you enter this month your friend might still be on your mind. Alternatively, you may be dismayed to discover the person you are dating doesn’t like your friend and won’t be shy about voicing an opinion. Life can’t always be easy, although this particular circumstance seems especially tricky. What matters most is how you feel. You can separate your friendships from your love life, and that shouldn’t be difficult to do.
The only other way last month’s full moon of June 27 worked out is that you led a charity benefit or humanitarian project that took place at the end of June or soon will by July 3. There seems to be no doubt it has taken quite a lot of energy over past months, and it appears you joined this effort willingly. You seem to have produced impressive results for a cause important to you, and learned about motivating others, lessons you can put to use in your salaried day job.
One of the best days of the month will be July 5, when the Sun in your house of true love, in Cancer, will send beams to Jupiter, the giver of gifts and luck. This would be an ideal day to circulate socially, to have a first date. If you will be on a trip, your timing will be ideal, for you will enjoy this date and those around it fully. You can discuss an international project, pursue a legal matter, or discuss the start of a media project. If you must sign a contract this month, do it on July 5, your best day of the month.
On July 12, a major solar eclipse will occur in your fifth house of love, children, pregnancy, and creative projects dear to your heart. This is a new moon, so something new is coming up, in one of the areas listed. If single, you may meet someone intriguing, or if attached, you may be delighted to discover you are pregnant. If you have a child, you may be making special preparations to care for him.
This eclipse is extraordinary in that Jupiter in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces will send sparkling beams to the Sun and new moon eclipse in Cancer, forming a perfect golden triangle of joy and harmony in the sky. If you travel at this time, you will find sumptuous accommodations in a restorative setting near a beautify setting edged with water.
Alternatively, if you have been working on a creative idea, present at this time (in the days following July 12), for this eclipse would likely get you the green light and the funding you need to begin work on it.
Proceed slowly because Mars is currently retrograde, a condition that started last month on June 26 and that will continue until August 27. Mars rules Pisces solar second house of income, so profits will be slow to develop if you launch anything now. Making matters more complicated is that another planet, Mercury, will also be retrograde later this month, from July 25 to August 18. Retrograde planets are telling you to examine the past, polish up the project so it gleams, but not to launch anything new for your future until September.
Your very best weekend will be July 21-22, when Venus and Jupiter will be in glamorous sync, and the transiting moon will be in Scorpio. This might be a weekend you will want to duck out of town for a romantic time with your one-and-only.
The full moon lunar eclipse, July 27, will bring closure to confidential talks. Your intuition will be very strong at this time, so it will be important to listen to what it is trying to say.
Now let’s sum up the July 27 lunar eclipse. The full moon lunar eclipse will light your twelfth house of the subconscious mind, health, and healing. Your twelfth house also rules areas of confinement, including hospitals, rehab centers, and places of physical therapy, as some examples. A full moon often brings closure so you do have the possibility of seeing a healing breakthrough when you get to the end of a series of treatments.
A percentage of Pisces (15 percent) found out that an eclipse can deliver news one month to the day earlier, so maybe you had to address a health matter last month near June 12 or 27. If so, let’s think good thoughts and you are on the road to recovery. With Jupiter so beautifully angled to your Sun, never say never – you have superb aspects for recovery or at the very least, for finding greater comfort.
With so much energy in your twelfth house, you will be very intuitive, so you must listen to the small voice within – it is there to offer protection. A secret that someone held from you is likely to come out, and if so, if it likely to be a message you never anticipated.
Keep your eye on your sister, brother, or cousin – the third house covers these types of relatives and new may be emerging there.
You have a difficult aspect associated with this eclipse – unpredictable Uranus in multiple 90-degree “squares” (obstacles) to this new moon solar eclipse, and to Mars (which is orbiting shoulder-to-shoulder with the lunar eclipse), both in Aquarius, and to the Sun in Leo. Uranus will be in the center between the luminaries, equidistant of the Sun and new moon, and it will be hard to guess what will come up, for Uranus is known to be completely unpredictable.
All these planets will be found in fixed, intransient signs (Taurus, Leo, Aquarius) so working through the roadblocks won’t be easy or happen quickly. If you must sign a contract, do so early in the month, near July 5, but stay far away from doing so on July 27.
This pattern at play at the July 27 eclipse could give you a health problem to address or a creative work project that needs a course correction. Or, your love life or a dilemma in regard to a child may need your attention. It is unlikely that ALL these areas will light up, but one might.
